Shannon turned in surprise at the sound of someone crashing away from them. Had someone been listening to their conversation? Not that it was an important one but still. "What the hell?" She said aloud, watching as a girl ran for the cover of the jungle. "Who was that?" Her gaze narrowed as a familiar figure suddenly emerged from the jungle. It was Sayid, bulging tarp over his shoulders and luggage supported by his arms or being pushed. For a moment she considered running to him but held herself back, remembering in the fight on the path. She couldn't remember exactly what it had been about but she did remember that she'd left angry.

With a sigh, Shannon turned back to Claire and Boone. She'd waited though, until Sayid had begun to trudge his way back to where their 'camp' had been, further down the beach. She felt guilty but she wasn't going to go back until he either apologized, or she remembered what the fight had been about. Was it just bad hormones? God...how the hell am I going to survive this? She thought with slight panic. "So...how's Leslie?" She asked finally. Maybe if she payed attention to Claire she'd learn some kind of maternal insincts.

Boone raised an eyebrow when he saw the girl go running away. He hadn't recognized her, but then again, he hadn't gotten a very good look. He made a mental note to mention her to Jack later, then turned his attention back to the two women who were actually getting along. It sounded like a bit of a forced conversation, but at least Shannon wasn't going for Claire's throat.

Claire smiled lightly and looked up to Shannon. "I'd be glad too" she chuckled "But you'll see, it comes naturally." And it really did. When Claire was pregnant, she always thought she would be a horrible mother and that she wouldn't be able to raise a child and give her all of the love that she really deserved. But when Leslie was born, all of the changes had been done atomatic and she had been able to do all of those things she had been scared to do.

Boone raised an eyebrow and looked over at Claire to see if she noticed Shannon's bizarre behaviour. Granted, a laughing Shannon was better than the old pissed off Shannon, but Boone was becoming more than a little confused. But Shannon *was* getting more responsible, so he at least had faith that she'd be fine.

Boone chuckled. "It's not that bad of an idea. Maybe we could hire out some of the rest to act a movie for us?" he asked with a grin.

Boone smiled, "I like that idea." Then, turning his attention to Claire, he asked, "Would you be willing to leave Leslie with a babysitter?" Not wanting to sound too entusiastic about it, he added, " You don't have to if you don't feel comfortable- I wouldn't really mind... but you could use some alone time."

Boone put an arm around Claire's shoulder and said reassuringly, "I bet Sun would be a great babysitter." He knew it would be hard for Claire to be away from Leslie, especially after all that she had gone through, but she did need some time without worrying about her.
