Well that was interesting now wasn't it? Yup. She expected Sevilin to appear as well but he didn't. Which meant he was upstairs with Malikhai. Glancing at her son for a moment she climbed the stairs and headed for Malik's room. Pausing briefly right outside she whispered, "Don't tell Daddy that you saw his friend, okay?" And before the child could ask the question forming in his mind she lied quickly, "It's a suprise for him...you want him to be surprised right?"
Oh a surprise. Well, that explained things now didn't it? He still didn't understand why he'd been flipped and shaken up though. "Okay. I won't tell him, promise."
"That's a good boy. Now let's go see what Malikhai is doing, hmm? Maybe if he's done with his work you two can play together. Won't that be fun?" Knocking once on the door just for appearance, she pushed it open and walked into the room, setting Zykariel down on the bed and ruffling both boys' hair. She'd begun making it a point to show Malikhai a bit of extra affection knowing his father was a little slow on the uptake when he got in war mode. Crossing her arms and standing in front of Sevilin she quirked an eyebrow. "Want to tell me what's going on now?"

"Its pretty much all inclusive...council, making her wait, the little potion thing, you being a man and what not, you know all those fun little things. At least it's very well written." Giving a slight chuckle, thus was indeed interesting wasn't it? "Still caught up on that Ravenwing fellow are you, my my but you do hold a grudge. Then again I'm not surprised, you'd seem one too...though over surface elves, that's where I can't see the motivation. I applaud him for his abilities on some level I suppose."
"Second...Mahlairi, despite your insults, finds use in you. Oh don't worry, it's merely of the labor sorts. After all...not too many in Andal can raise or speak to the dead, let alone get information from them...quite a useful tidbit to us drow...especially with what we're doing..." Handing over a second scroll of formal paperwork.
Casually clearing his throat. "Third, this...you may be interested in." Pulling out a third and unrolling it, but keeping hold of it himself. "Formal papers for Sevilin's...well his crime papers, I won't bore you with the punishments listed." Snapping it shut so that Malik wouldn't snatch it from him. "Crest Brigade business you know." Giving a smirk...oh yes, he had formal channels. And of course he would indeed tell Malik what the retribution was...he was just saving it for his own glee and well he loved that look of surprise on Sevilin's face when things liek this got out.
Oh good, there she was with child on hand as well, a look to his own son, whom he reached back and brushed a hand over the boy's hair before turnign his attention to Zahara. She was quite relentless wasn't she? "Remember an elf I told you about named Khaiver? That would be him." None too amused either...damn able Khaiver. And he knew things would get worse if he found out about Zykariel.

Khaiver... Oh yes, she knew the name well. Little bits and pieces had leaked out of him over the years they'd been together just like they had out of her. She knew his history just not certain details. "The one who trained you and taught you all your current skills then left you to the whims of your sisters." There were other things as well but she wasn't about to bring up some of those painful memories. "What's he doing here?" Then a thought and her eyes widened, "He can't take you back...right?" She knew all too well the punishment for fleeing and also knew that a drow would not hesitate to exact said punishment the moment they caught up with the desserter. But with Lloth gone she assumed they would have given up looking. "How in the name of the gods holy wrath did he find you?" He'd moved planes for gods' sakes. Did that mean her own might be looking for her as well?

"I hold grudges for a long time. against humans, drow, dwarves, and surface breeds. actions, not the race, are the reason for grudges."
a raise of his eyebrow.
"wanting communication with the dead. interesting. I wonder whatever for."
before looking at the second scroll of paperwork. then looking at Khavier again, setting both other papers aside.
"Sevilin's crimes. And exactly why should sevilin be under the jurisdiction of the crest brigade when he hasn't been on that plane and has no intention of ever returning to it?"

Leaf, who would have procrastinated about doing this and might even ahve tried to weedle out of it if she had really had the choice, threw her insecurety to the wind and threw herself as well. Except, threw herself down the rope, bileying down it like a sailor coming down from the crow's nest.
She hit the ground hard when she ran out of rope, but at elast she hadn't had time to be scared. She sat against the wall and waited for Fin to follower her down, albeit more slowly.
When he had joined them, Leaf stood up. "We'll head that way," She pointed down one side. "for no reason that I can think of other than to save the conversation of where we go next."

"I don't know exactly why he's here, but I'm sure it's for nothing good at all. Nothing good came from him after all." Giving a sneer at that before a look at the boys, the two working out math at this point. Wish he could keep entertained like that. A shrug at her second question though. "Don't know, but he'd have to take me back kicking and screaming, and even then, he'd have to kill me first." Giving a sigh and shaking his head...this was stressful. "Malik's met with both him and Mahlari...it was probably only a matter of time after he gave up my name."
A shrug. "Grudges are good. They give you something to think about in idle times." But a nod as he echoed second issues. "Indeed, the dead...what after your little show and all, Mahlari can indeed be impressed...it just takes a bit of work is all. Necromancers aren't something you find in every guild in Andal and such."
Yes he was indeed pleased with himself, slipping that scroll that pretained to the other drow back into his belt...yup that was staying nice and close...not to prevent Malik from seeing it, it was indeed quite real, but this was his free pass to things...he wasn't going to give it up. "Well I can give you a numner of reasons...an Andalian master rune mage, who's drow...Mahlari calls him a threat...liable to come back and just oh you know, destroy the whole plane out of malice and such...I'm sure you've realized by now that he's not quite right in the head."
A pause. "Not to mention that you have no proof that he won't just do that. And after all, various other things he's done...like, oh killing surface elves purposefully, malicious acts...attempted assassination of the Lord Silvercrest...the list does go quite on and on. You think leaving the plane excuses him? No more than it does your surface elf of a wife." A sly look. "But you know...there's always alternatives to one having to suffer lifelong imprisonment or death."
Piper blinked as Leaf more or less just threw herself down, and Fin followed after. They were an amusing bunch after a bit now weren't they? Much so. "Good idea, I'm up for it....if it doesn't pan back we'll backtrack and go the other." Giving a whistle then and Serino appeared at her side. Taking the rope off of him she starting to coil it back up as they started off.

She shook her head, this was not at all good news. Not at all. A glance to the boys to make sure they hadn't heard anything and she glared, "Don't you even say things like that. You're not going anywhere alive or..otherwise." Looking pointedly at the children to remind him to watch what he said. "But why meet with Malik? Why not come directly to see you and why sit outside like he's some sort of god?" She started nibbling on her bottom lip again. One of these days that thing was going to disappear. "He's playing stupid head games. And it's just so convenient now because magic is gone and we're nearly defenseless, especially you. It's the perfect time." she said softly then glanced up at him, "Think Andal knows? What with Piper's parents writing her and her other connections..." It wasn't farfetched in the least and that sucked.

"how very convenient. surface breeds that get in our way die. evne those that get into mine and I am bonded to one. though we all know that sevilin and silvercrest have a long history. and he has no intention of ever returning to andal. he quite frankly despises the plane so badly that to set foot on it even for the purposes of destroying it is too distastful and dirty."
a slight smirk to Khavier.
"Oh? like making you go home empty handed and saying if the brigade want him they can try and claim him? without thier runic power or magic they couldn't take him. but I'll humor you. what side deal are you hoping to weave to ensure sevilin stays put exactly where I need him to be."

A look to the kids, but they seemed to be in study land...though children did have a tendency to eavsdrop and such things. "Because I'm sure Khaiver enjoys his ability to keep me off guard and well...if Mahlari can benifit from Malik in some way, she'd strike a deal." Though another glare at her as she called him defenseless...he may not have magic and may be more mage and rune mage than anything else, but that certinally didn't make him defenseless since magic was gone. "If Khaiver's here, Andal knows...simple as that. Not to mention Malik dropped my name at the first Council he attended."
A wave of his hand at the drow like fact. "True, but remember...in Andal the surface belongs to the crest brigade...and they have that killing thing or whatever," casual hand gesture to show that he really didn't give a damn but hey when it worked in his favor, he was good with it. Besides...Sevilin's fault for being caught in some way. "You think I intended to leave with my hands full?" A breif amused noise.
"Anyway... we're in the Depths now...you and I both know that in some aspect, the Crest Brigade has no say in what goes on down here...or they don't care, they haven't made a formal statement as to which they claim yet. So we have these types of opportunities. For now...I conduct Mahlari's business with you first, however long it takes. As for Sevilin...well, he owes me answers among other things. I'm a man who looks out for himself, whether you sneer at he means or not. Mahlari's side may not be the most gold and glittering thing, but it is the best place the Depths has to offer. But as one who looks out for himself...Sevilin needs to pay up. So to speak...then maybe I'd look the other way and just forget about wonderful paperwork."

She'd been referring to the sudden loss of magic, not his existence on their plane but she realized he was still locked onto that subject. "There's something else to this, Sevilin. Mahlari is playing headgames and using Khaiver to do it which is just like her. And he's seriously watching his p's and q's right now. The ogres flipped him and literally shook him and he did nothing, not even curse at them." A shake of her head and she tapped her foot for a moment, before crossing her arms. "Are you going to see him? What if he forces you too?"

"alright then. down to buisness. she wants my necromantic aid to gather information from the dead to what point and purpose? the depths belong to her. which means this involves the surface. more pointedly, it probably involves the requias penninsula."
a slight smirk gesturing to a chair adn pouring wineglasses, handing one over.
"I sneer at the means because I know as well as you do that without her sister she's nothing more than a glorified priestess. you could kill her on a whim if you felt so. there's no reason why she's in power other than her sister and the fact you put up with it."
settling down in a chair.
"why don't you admit what really is the reason he has to 'pay up'. it aggravates you to no end, and your mistress as well I wager, that Sevilin was not only able to become a runemage, but a master one at that right under your nose."
a slight grin.
"I wonder how much she wonders why, with all that power at his disposal...he didn't just destroy her. from my understanding, the only person able to truly match a master is another. and since phyiscal endurance is also a factor, her dear sister wouldn't be able to match Sevilin. his life has bred him into a perfect master. he can endure pain most other runemages can't, and he has the knowledge and skill to use all thier powers."
a small smile.
"the same exessive use that would cripple mahlari's sister wouldn't stop sevilin. probably the same can be said for any of the others, including the Crest Brigade master and Swiftfeather."
taking a drink from his glass.
"I don't need you two fighting. Sevilin has responsibilities that are more important with the present circumstances being as they are. I don't need him nursing injuries because of wounded pride on your part. nor do I think Mahlari needs you coming back to her in a worse condition than you left in."

"You'd be surprised at Khaiver's manners." Giving a snickcer at that and crossing his arms. She almost seemed as upset as he did...which was a little strange and yet at the same time kind of comforting. "If I can avoid it, no. If I can't...well I'll just have to ignore him and sift through what he has to say...but by no means am I sitting down to dinner with him and holding polite conversation or anything of the sorts..." A look to the children. "And he doesn't ever get a glimpse of Zykariel, understood?"
"Dead elves tend to loose thier voices and take thier secrets and knowledge with them. Does that answer suffice for you D'vinn?" After all, why speak longwinded when he didn't have too...though a raise of an eyebrow at hospitality. Ah that was why Malik was going to verbally attack him. "The system works within the rest of Andal...besides, things aren't as bad as some, namely some like Sevilin, portray them to be. For the tree to stand firm, it has to have it's roots...apart from the surface elves we may be, but Mahlari still bears the tattoo of a royal on her cheek, does she not? I don't expect you to understand it all."
A slight chuckle. "Now now, you're speaking what you don't know and it makes you look foolish. We can't have that now can we? Yes, neither Mahlari, or I are pleased with that fact, and yet it is intriguing...besides...if there was one, there will be another that will try. Just better set up to prevent that now. Maybe when Mahlari is off the throne, another wll decide rune mages are worth something at that level, other than being a threat."
"And...I never said I'd lay a hand on him did I? What do you expect of me? Fist fighting, or to use a piece of the household furniture? If I was going to beat a man, I'd bring a weapon to the fight. Or is that an instigation that he would be the one attacking me?" Tilting his head in almost too innocent curiosity.

"Dead elves never lose thier voices. or thier knowledge...you just have to know how to get to it."
a slight contemplative look at that. one of those things buried in the back of one's mind.
"I'm merely conjecturing on what I know, and what I guess from previous actions and knowledge of those in similar positions and states of mind. and I'd be more than happy to inform Mahlari of exactly how valuable Sevilin has been."
A lean forward.
"you don't have to say it, Khavier. I know your an assassin. I know your more than well trained in hand to hand as much as any weapon of the trade. I also know that you can very easily say the right trigger words or do the right things to get sevilin, no matter how cool headed he may be when the conversation starts, to strike at you and then be allowed to retaliate in self defense."
leaning back again.
"And this offer of Mahlari's....for me to commune and inform her of whatever it is exactly she's looking for in the voices of the dead...what's the payment she's offering? or is that part of your being here, to come to an agreement on that?"
