Amane paused in thought "Well wouldn't the best place be right up at the top of that really really high tower at the back of the palace? Though it would take ages to climb right up to the top so would need to slip away early and hopefully nobody else will get the same idea" she planned out secretly wishing for a sit down.
"Oh yeah dad would like it. Hot weather is healthy for fire demons and the ones that live in the fire demon city are the ones with the longest life spans. I doubt that is a coincidence. Still I don't envy you.. I found it hard last time I was there and I have even less fur than you" Mu agreed patting Hebal on the shoulder.
Hebal sighed "Never mind I guess its just what has to be done and I can get my warmer jackets if we have to go back to the winter side of the world. That doesn't surprise me hearing that though. Fire demons are weird and as far as I know don't need to drink anything at all to stay alive. Though how did you cope when you had feathers"

Felina sighed putting an arm around Oassu giving him a hug "I don't think Agralia gets as cold but it still sounds like it was a really unpleasant experience for you. Maybe in future we could take a few in to keep warm. Most bedrooms in places I visit close to home come with fires as standard" she optimistically suggested sliding into the water once it reached waist height. "Ahh this feels fantastic already!"
Satoshi let out a small laugh "Yeah I guess so even though its not quite my birthday just yet. But if I a tired tomorrow its not so bad since a lot of it will be spent lying around on the airship anyway once the initial hike is over" she replied happy to return the kiss. "Though you know I can't go anywhere if you don't put me down or was that your plan all along" she teased.

Oassu sighed "Probably not quite as bad as here though didn't think you'd like doing something like that" he said sliding off the edge into the pool shivering with delight as the warm water washed over him and quickly diving under to let the warmth cover his whole body. "Wow, I'd always thought baths were quite overrated but they are just heavenly in winter" he sighed backstroking over to Felina.
Gil sighed "Nice as it is I'm not some barbarian who goes around kidnapping women" he said setting Satoshi down on the ground "And good point you'll just be able to catch up on sleep on the airship, it's good you are coping better with it these days" he said leaning back on the couch. "Still run along now and enjoy your party.
Zadina nodded excitedly "That's a great idea Miss Amane! Also I think the tower is off-limits to guests so we can totally sneak up there to watch the fireworks!" he said bouncing up and down at the thought of the plan before stopping outside a door "Ah this is our room" he said pausing to open the door for the others to go in.
Jeckhart's face fell for a moment while he considered his answer "W-well...feathers keep you warm in winter most of the time but when it's really warm if you are flying the wind and the breeze tend to keep you cool enough" he muttered quietly moving into the room.

Amane frowned suddenly "Well if its off limits then won't we get in real trouble for being caught up there if that's the case? I am a guest afterall" she whispered. taking a peek through the door. "There could be other towers lying around for us to watch in"
Mu let out a low whistle immediately going over to a bed to claim it. If this is what the guest bedrooms are like I can't really imagine just how grand the kings bedroom would be. Wouldn't have to worry about temperatures in here with a fireplace that big and giant windows to match"
Hebal paused scratching her head "ooh maybe then if I jump about really high I could cool myself down a little. Thanks for the idea Mr Jeckhart" she saluted him before flinging her coat across the room to relax. "! wonder if this room has a shower as well as a bath unlike the last one stayed in"

Felina shrugged swimming over to each tap having to turn them all off "Well why not. I like kids and I wouldn't like to see them going cold or hungry if I could avoid it. Provided they don't try an pic my pocket afterwards or else I would scold them good" she smiled paddling to the deepest part. "They are great all year round. Only difference is cooler ones in summer and when not in the palace they are often tiny.
Satoshi nodded managing to get a quick kiss of Gil before he put her back down "Ok ok Im going dear. Just help yourself to any food or any books or whatever might catch your interest if you get bored or hungry and I shall try not to wake you" she replied soon after slipping out her apartment door with Terrato hiding down the back of her shirt.
Elsewhere in the palace several floors below a hand reached out and grabbed the shoulder of the now alone fire demon. "Hey Alpha, as much as I love your company... weren't you supposed to be on a completely different continent? Don't tell me your here because you missed us or ran out of money already" Hayate asked scratching his head.

Oassu sighed relaxing "Sure they wouldn't, would have to answer to me if they did" he said swimming over to Felina "Though I'm sure you'd want plenty of your own kids" he chuckled tackling Felina.
Zadina shook his head "You let me take care of that, it's more that since this is the royal palace after all we don't want relative strangers snooping around the place I'm sure they wouldn't deny me but if not I have a fun little magic trick we can do" he whispered.
Jeckhart scratched his head uncertain that it would quite work the same way before moving towards the bathroom "Ah I'll need to thank the servants they ran ahead to prepare a bath for me how kind" he said before disappearing into the bathroom and locking the door.

Mu raised her eyebrow picking up on the last bit of the conversation "Ooh what kind of magic trick would that be your thinking of using. I like little tricks and things done with magic. You probably guessed that though Aethys never tells me how he does it and... anyway now I'm starting to ramble.
Amane smiled shuffling between Zadina and Mu "Hehe I see you like magical stuff too, must have seen some really interesting ones in the circus. Though I don't think we will need to use any really. Just gotta be polite to the guards I would guess." she suggested uncertain if she liked what Zadina was getting at
Hebal meanwhile was bouncing around in search of the clothes they had bought earlier "Just make sure you don't do anything silly. Don't want you to be marched back by angry guards hehe. Though have our outfits arrived Zadina?"
Alpha grunted having grabbed Hayate's arm almost instinctively in surprise "Don't get your hopes up too high. Went there but Zadina I think partly missed his relatives and wanted to show off his place to his girlfriend so turned today into a whole Yithra family outing" he explained releasing his grip. "How about you, didn't think you liked these sort of parties? Also have you any idea where the group would be? Was supposed to meet em around here earlier but was late."

Hayate paused thinking for a moment while sneakily casting an ice spell to cool down his arm where the hand had been. "Nope but can always ask around the palace easy enough. Two viera aren't exactly every day visitors to the palace so they will stick out. So what were you doing talking to the king? Surprised Yandek didn't tell you to get lost for doing that considering how busy he's been" he admitted stopping to talk to one servant. "... Apparently they were downstairs a few minutes ago in the central hallway"

Zadina blushed "Uh well nothing special, just a little invisibility spell, nothing too naughty" he mumbled quietly not really liking being caught out "I've used it before and it was quite fun sneaking around but I'll go ask and see where they are" he said going to the door and pulling a small chord. Minutes later a servant arrived at the door and after a brief exchange, they hurried away to find the dresses.
Elsewhere a servant hurried up towards Alpha bowing politely to both of them "Greetings Mr Alpha, Major Tayu. Lord Zadina requested I relay directions to his suite should you wish to join him and his other guests before the ball this evening" he said.

Mu rolled her eyes "I thought you said that it was nothing special. I can have great fun with invisibility spells just going round playing pranks on people and spying on them. Would be a great day of fun provided I could become visible again. But if you will excuse me a moment. I shall get changed since my dress is in my bag if nowhere near as fancy as yours. But hey gowns aren't my thing and its still fairly tasteful" she added noticing a screen to change behind in the corner of the room.
Hebal laughed nodding her head "That would be a pretty cool way to go. I would be all for it if we could also give them nice surprises like cakes appearing out the sky or something like that hehe" she agreed skipping around.
Amane looked up at the cord resisting the urge to pull it herself "Ooh so this must be like room service or something? Sure I don't mind doing something like that so long as we are careful not to get separated otherwise it might be a little on the scary side. Must have been really useful to get out of stuff you don't wanna do"
Alpha raised his eyebrow but nodded at the servant to lead the way "Sounds like that's our cue to rejoin the group. Though since when did people start calling you Major, was always Captain before. No worry, remember how I said I had a plan to do with going to the desert? I figured I may as well try my luck and be a little cheeky in asking the king for some supplies. I think it went rather well. As for this Yandek, I take it that was the big guy that was following him round? Yeah he didn't look pleased but the smaller one, Rutizo or something seemed a little more on the trusting side. More talkative for sure" he chuckled.

Hayate slowly nodded at Alpha then at the servant "Well that sounds about right. Still you are lucky to have got a word in. Though you know it probably would have been a lot easier to speak to Oassu and Felina about it before planning our next voyage. Felina could easily sweet talk her dad around into doing most things" he advised gesturing for the servant to continue. "As for the rank... I got promoted ages ago. Like before we went to Tricasia. I just didn't think it was worth announcing. If you think that was weird to find out, try coming home to find your foster father has been offered a lordship title for his work. And no that doesn't mean I'm any wealthier before you say anything" he quickly added before Alpha could think of a comment to add.

The servant turned and bowed politely as they arrived at the room "Here is your room for this evening, Lord Zadina has instructed me that you will be returning to his estate to rest later on but if there is anything else I can get you this evening please don't hesitate to ask" he said bowing and awaiting further instruction.
Zadina shook his head at Mu's suggestion "Oh no I'd be a good boy I use it for harmless things and never anything truly naughty but Miss Hebal's idea sounds quite lovely" he giggled watching Hebal skip around the room "Though it shouldn't really matter tonight as like I said I should have authority to go to the tower." he said confidently.

Heal cheered skipping back around to Oassu "The it is decided that one day you shall use those powers to surprise everyone with cake and other nice little treats hehe. Maybe not tonight though or you might make people mad because noble people are really really grumpy people and some of them don't have much sense of humour" she whispered in case the servant unexpectedly came back.
Amane nodded reassured "Right. Should be a nice trouble free day and maybe I can get a good look at Bahamut though I might need somewhere to keep my ear plugs hidden if he and the fireworks are going to get noisy. Dresses don't have pockets afterall" she suddenly realised.
Alpha snickered "If I asked Oassu and Felina first, they may have said no and its me who does all the flying. Anyway, sounds like your moving up in the world wealth or not. Should have said something earlier and I would have bought you a pint to celebrate and for once you have a good excuse for me not having to get you drunk. But what now... just ask the servant to leave?" he whispered not used to the special treatment.

Hayate politely bowed back coming to a stop "Thanks for the help now, you may go and also. Take this for the trouble. Should get you something nice out the kitchen if you go before the feast starts" he told him handing over a small slip of paper before turning back to Alpha. "I will hold you to that drink though not tonight. You lot might be in the mood for a party but these things really aren't my sort of thing. Would rather hide out of site and relax in the background of it all" he mumbled giving the door a knock.

The servant mumbled a "thank you" before backing away quietly to give the two men privacy.
Zadina nodded "If you like I'll carry them for you or we can have someone bring you them before they start I'm sure it won't be too difficult to arrange" he said ears twitching as he heard the knock at the door before going to open it for them "Oh hello there, please come in, Happy Dragon Festival Major Hayate" he said brightly stepping aside to let them in.
