Hebal shrugged skipping away a little annoyed at having to slow down to give Oassu and Felina a little space "Nah no need for it will probably just get snowed over or cleaned over by staff later. But if that's how many servants you have then the head servant must have a real hard job keeping them organised about the palace. Wonder how much they get paid anyway" she wondered quietly to herself.
Amane frowned surprised "Oh wow, its like your entire palace alone has more people in than the whole of our village back home. Could probably house them all too hehe" she told him trying to move faster before she got colder. "Maybe they have extra staff for all the guests?"

Felina grinned leading Oassu up the nearest staircase "Well I could get them in a lot of trouble for doing that but Im not completely heartless so I will let them have a little fun so long as nothing breaks. As for mum I don't think any guest would like to be in her way right now unless you are a guest of course. Think she is secretly terrified that dad might have done something silly like decorated the wrong rooms" she joked.
Satoshi snickered "Maybe not but Takeo has a good heart really. And you do get used to him after a long while too. As for the language barrier... maybe it would help you be able to explore the area more ad do more business here. These lands are known for having a lot of ancient and well made swords. Good blade makers are highly valued here after all"

Oassu chuckled "You decorate your rooms specially for guests? That's certainly a kind courtesy" he said as they hopped up the stairwell "Would be fun to disguise myself as an elf servant for a little bit and go seeing what the inner workings of the castle are, might learn more secret passages than you know" he teased glancing down the long staircase as they left the hall.
Gil nodded "I'm sure, but to my knowledge Excalibur isn't an Eastern sword, so I'm not counting on it being made here, though it might have ended up a anywhere in the world if it exists" he shrugged leaning over the back of the couch to pet Enkidu before turning his attention to Satoshi "So lets get this stuff in the fridge and settle in for the night yes?" he suggested "Been a busy day and I'm really not used to being so social, it tires me out in a very unusual way" he sighed resting on the back of the couch.
Zadina nodded in agreement with Amane "It's possible, trained staff can be difficult to find, but often for big events like this you can hire some temporary people to handle the simple jobs freeing up other more trained individuals to help out elsewhere but come, let us go and see if your clothes have arrived for this evening" he said greeting the guards in elvish as they approached. The guards bowed politely to Zadina and crew as they entered the building.
Jeckhart paused glancing back down the snowy gardens for a moment before entering the hall "If you might allow it Lord Zadina I'd like to go clean myself up a bit before the meal later...my clothes are hardly fancy so I suppose the least I could do is ensure I myself are presentable" he asked watching as the huge heavy doors slowly shut behind them.

Amane nodded looking around unsure of where they should be going "Umm ok we can do that though you will have to lead the way as this palace is like a giant maze to me. Glad I'm not the person who has to try and hire so many hundreds of trust worthy people into the palace. Must be really hard to work out who all the mean applicants are" she whispered.
Hebal's ears shuddered slightly at the thud of the door closing behind them "well I'm sure everyone will want to be all cleaned up and looking pretty for the party so I don't see why you couldn't Jeckhart. Though we should probably stick around a little for when Mr Alpha comes back if he hasn't already" she reminded them, "Could ask people, cant be too hard to spot a big fire demon or a creepy looking old guy"

Felina laughed playfully flicking Oassu's ear "Aren't you a little on the short side and lacking the right sort of appearance to pass off as an elf. You probably wouldn't learn that much for a long time and get stuck cleaning the stables or pot washing to start. Only the most trusted ones get any real perks or to be around the royals" she explained taking him through a door on the landing leading to an identical smaller hallway. "We don't decorate all the rooms, just the ones people are going to be in for the party. That was just an example. What I mean is the people doing the decorating organising this year; my dad and a few other individuals aren't known for their creative skills"
Satoshi snickered carrying her things to the kitchen "We haven't exactly been that social. Still if you want to kick back and have an early night you can always rest here and I'll go back out for a bit. I have unfinished business to take care of before we hit the road tomorrow you see" she explained with a small sigh.

Oassu chuckled making a few handsigns in order to transform into a random elf "Well I have been working on this trick for a little while" he said before reverting to his original form with a small puff of smoke "Your mother must be terrified she can't control it if your dad is a terrible decorator" he laughed.
Gil's eyes widened in surprise "Really? That wasn't social? Hmm perhaps it just seems a lot for me" he said yawning "Though if you have some business to take care of sure I'll stay here, I'll wait up for you if you like" he said moving over to cuddle Satoshi while she put things down in the kitchen "What are you running out for anyway?" he asked stroking her shoulders.
Zadina nodded "It probably is Amane, fortunately I'll never need to deal with that since we don't hold big parties at my house that stretch us to capacity" he said beckoning a handmaiden who emerged to see if they needed them before exchanging a few words in elvish before she bowed deeply before rushing off down the corridor. "There, she's away to get a room set up for us to wait in, there will be a bathroom as well for you to wash up in Mr Jeckhart though I don't think old Cap'n Alpha looks that creepy Miss Hebal" he said quietly defending Alpha.

"Nope Hebal's right, my dad can be a little on the creepy side when he wants to be" came a voice from behind them belonging to Mu. "We were a little worried you had been waiting a while for us now though dad is talking to the king right now so will be a little while longer. Still nice little set up this city has going on"
Hebal giggled nodding her head "Oh yes Yithra is certainly one of the prettiest cities I have visited and I travel around a lot. But did you just say he was talking to the king? I can't exactly picture that happening." she added in disbelief as what was said suddenly clicked.
Amane smiled waving at Mu "Hush now lets not be mean about Mr Alpha hehe if Zadina's uncle seems to disagree" she answered with a jump as she almost backed into a suit of armour. "Do you ever have any parties at all at your place Zadina? Or do they all just go here?"

Felina coughed attempting to fan away the smoke "Yeah don't let too many people see that in here or you will end up getting stalked by suspicious guards. But your right she's a bit terrified and I would be too. From what I heard she practically hounded Nares to oversee the guys the moment we got back earlier. Still please feel free to give me a good shake if I get that concerned about how our place looks to guests all the time" she quietly whispered leading him through a smaller spiral staircase and through the door at the top to the familiar landing outside her room.
Satoshi shook her head "Not by comparison to what Oassu and Felina will be doing in a palace full of guests it isn't. But I did sort of promise Ranmaru I would meet up with him later and it could be possibly the last time I see him for a good while so would be pretty bad of me not to show up" she explained.

Oassu laughed "I'm sure you'll be fine though I doubt we'll have that much company at our place, at least not the noble kind, except for Zadina" he said reaching over to pet Cid "Still lets get inside and have a warm bath, had quite enough of outside for now. Will probably be heading out later as well for the fireworks" he groaned.
Gil nodded "Well they are royalty, of course it's not the same but sure I understand if you want to spend some time with your friends" he said placing the food they bought in the fridge "I shall wait here for you then, give Enkidu some more attention for a change" he said going over to his friend for a pet.
Zadina turned around "Oh Hello Miss Mu I'm glad to see you and the Cap'n got back alright though what is he talking to the King about? I imagine my uncle will be very busy at this time" he said worrying Alpha was bothering him. "Still this way everyone" he said beckoning for the others to follow him as he began to ascend the stairs "And no I've never really had a need to throw a party and I'm sure my mother and father would have been cross if I did most big occasions are held here at the palace, it's much grander than my estate anyway" he said

Mu laughed nodding her head "Yeah he looked pretty busy and I think his bodyguard wasn't too impressed when he just approached him so casually. It's sort of a family matter really. Trying to get some medical supplies for my brother over in Stalt. Figured he may be interested since a lot of it will be going to elves" she explained.
Hebal paused having to think "Stalt... that's in the desert then I take it? Never heard of the place. Still Zadina maybe we should get someone on staff to stay behind to collect Alpha or he might get confused as to where we're all gone" she suggested.
Amane tilted her head "Oh you have siblings Miss Mu? How many? I think it would be really cool to have some?" she asked surprised to hear there were more members to the family. "Must be a relief living so close to the palace then so you always get invited to the parties and never have to host them. My grandma has one of the biggest houses in the village so has to host at least a third of all the dinner parties."
Mu hesitated trying to make a note of where they were going "Theres only me, my brother and my dad. Pretty small family but sure its nice to have siblings to keep you on your toes"

Felina nodded sliding in through the door "Well my family may want to visit from time to time you know. But sure a nice bath sounds good and will need to get ready soon anyway. I could help with magic to keep you warm outside or we could stop by here and pick up coats before the fireworks though I am sure many fires will be lit outside for us to stay warm. In the meantime may I join you?" she asked indicating to the pool sized bath.
Satoshi hesitated uncertain "Are you sure you want to do that? I could be out and about a little while since I think they might want a bit of a festival thing with me meaning I would be back late. Also is there anything I can do to make my place entertaining for you? I cant see there being much to do"

Oassu blushed slightly "Um sure you are welcome to of course" he said removing his borrowed coat and hanging it up "Though with all the torches and other people about I reckon it'll probably be warm enough" he said.moving towards the bathroom.
Gil chuckled "Well if that's the case I won't interrupt, sounds like it's a thing just for you and your old friends." he said "Though don't worry about me, I can entertain myself just fine" he said looking around the room "You don't have any weapons around I can see to practice with but I'll do some exercises before I go to bed that'll keep me preoccupied" he said nodding satisfactorily.
Zadina stopped quickly "Oh oh you're right Miss Hebal! How careless of me!" he said beckoning another servant carrying some towels to a room and relaying the instructions in elvish before they scurried away past them. "There we go, though I suppose so...but these parties are never really any fun for me, there's no other children at them. Most nobles don't take children as young as me to parties only reason I attended them is because my family is so close to kings as I'm royal blood" he explained.
Jeckhart nodded confirming for Hebal "Yes Stalt is a settlement in the desert...a lot of you might be going there soon I think..." he said frowning as he concentrated "Yes it seems likely that is the case, I can't tell why you will be going there though" he sighed rubbing his head from the concentration "Though it's not exclusively home to elves so your father might not have that much luck" he said.

Hebal groaned at hearing the mention of possibly going to the dessert "Oh I hope not too soon because it gets all hot and stuffy and will mean I will need to spend the whole airship journey having to trim my fur a lot just so I can try and adjust" she quietly complained running her hands through the fur on her arms.
Mu paused holding back the information that it was also summer in that part of the world. "You know with a little magic and good sun cream along with a lot of water will help when you go over there" she advised. "As for my dad, he's cheeky enough to try anything once even if the outcome he wants is unlikely" she added to Jeckhart.
Amane smiled ruffling Zadina's hair "Sounds boring but this time theres gonna be at least one other child who is going to make it really fun for you" she cheerfully stated pointing to her chest. "And if its still boring I will help you slip away to find more fun elsewhere"

Felina smiled having already gone to the bath to run the water "Right that may be a few minutes to fill up even with this many taps turned on. But you are right, it would be no good if all the guests were too cold to see the fireworks since not all will be used to this cold weather" she agreed putting her robes and cloak to one side before sitting down on the edge of the pool. Feel free to set the fire going if you like. Probably a good idea or we will be really cold when done in here. Then we can get dressed and open presents"
Satoshi shook her head "I have throwing weapons around but they aren't too good to use. You can always borrow my sword if you want. Nothing special at all about it but will do the job" she offered wrapping her arms around his waist. "I will just have to make it up to you tomorrow with extra attention for missing tonight. "Or if you like I could take you to the training field and you will find execise equipment and people to train with?"

Oassu nodded going over to the bed to pet Cid gently snoozing on the bed before going to ignite the fire "Good idea, it's cold enough these days, lucky you've got fire like this, back in Agralia me an Jenna'd just have to cuddle up with the other thieves in winter it was so cold" he said wiping his hands of some soot before going to the bathroom putting his borrowed clothes aside before sitting down shyly by Felina "Though...it will be nice to have the presents after yeah" he said focusing on the reflection in the water.
Gil chuckled "No it's alright, I've had enough of meeting new people, nevermind random strangers who might not even speak the language, you just run along and have fun" he said wrapping some of his arms around Satoshi before hoisting her up for a kiss "It can be a nice birthday party for you after all, just try not to be too tired tomorrow" he said cuddling her.
Jeckhart smiled gently "Well at least you'll be better once you've trimmed your coat it won't be so bad there, you'll probably appreciate it" he said hopefully "Besides I'm sure Alpha will enjoy the weather" he said
Zadina giggled reaching over to pet Amane's ears in retaliation for ruffling his hair "Yeah you'll make it great fun, we can totally sneak away and find the best spot to watch the fireworks from!" he said enthusiastically.
