Hebal nodded "Listen to us Jeckhart. We give good advice and your probably not aas used to having your body... featherless and all... sorry I hope I didn't offend you saying that" she suddenly realised shuffling uncomfortable. "If you like I could always help you out with the cost of it. Im guessing you don't have much money to spend for the same reason you don't have a lot of clothes" she offered giving him a pat on the shoulder.
Amane giggled listening to Zadina's reaction "Hehe you sound funny when you gasp like that. But you wouldn't expect Alpha to suddenly transform and spurt fire everywhere based on his appearance I mean would you? And he's pretty mobile and in good health for his age too. Plus I hear he can roar so loud it hurts your ears off mum" she whispered.

Felina smiled happy to return the kiss "Well at least they haven't spotted us in here kissing in an alleyway. Might take that the wrong way hehe. But are you sure you are advanced enough to teleport us across the city? From what I hear from Satoshi, the further you travel the more energy it takes or are you hoping I'll give you a hand with that afterwards"
Satoshi's eyes widened "I thought you said you weren't paid a lot for your missions just two minutes ago. You could like get yourself a 9 bedroom house for that much gil. Sounds more like they are paying you a pretty good salary and just want rid of the sword because of the so called curse" she guessed moving out of Enkidu's way.

Oassu scratched his chin "Hmm good point it might be a bit far, but perhaps it doesn't have to be so bad or one big jump! he said taking hold of Felina "Here hold on, I've wanted to do this for a while" he said making the appropriate handsigns to teleport them. They reappeared on the roof of the building they were standing beside. "Ah much better, no one can see us up here and we'll get plenty of untouched fresh snow to play with" he said happily watching the blanket of pure snow along the rooftops "We can get closer in private like this and then I'll jump the last big bit for us no trouble" he said stretching happily.
Gil scratched his chin for a moment in thought before bursting into laughter, "You know I hadn't considered that, but yeah that might be it, fortunately I've prepared a special anti-magic container in advance for holding the sword with the help of the moogles just in case but perhaps they do just want me to take it off their hands, either way I'm a bit of a premium mercenary these days so I guess my prices are just high, I'd never really considered it too much" he said somewhat embarrassed.
Jeckhart scratched his arm mirroring Hebal's apparent discomfort "W-well I did spend plenty of time in my human form...it's easier to interact with people after all...but yes I don't get much money to spend on clothes but I can afford a little more, you've already spent enough today I think" he said looking back at the clothes.
Zadina blushed "I was just surprised as all, but yes Alpha is a bit deceptive in that way, though I've not heard him roar too much, though I don't know what demon old age is meant to be like so I don't assume he's going to have difficulty getting about or anything like that" he said plucking a bright yellow scarf from a rack to offer to Jeckhart "Here you should try this one on I think" he said "I'll make it a present for the Dragon Festival if you like Mr Jeckhart" he offered.

Hebal nodded picking up and waving around the matching gloves, pleased to have been the only one to spot them "I bet you didn't in weather this cold though hehe. Gotta look after yourself properly and wouldn't want your hands to freeze. Though you know this stuff isn't that expensive and if it bothers you... see it as a present from me and then the accessories aren't something you have to worry about at all" she insisted.
Amane snickered quietly to herself seeing Zadina blush "Well old age is old age. You slow up and don't have as much energy as you used to regardless of species. Alpha might be real slowed up and just doesn't look it because of comparing us with his kind" she suggested admiring the scarf "you look really smart Mr Jeckhart."

Felina took a step forward nervously "Are you wanting us to just hope along the rooftops home? Bit dangerous isn't it? And with all this snow its a little hard to stay up since its not flat" she gasped choosing to cast a floating spell upon herself. "Or maybe you just want to make a rooftop snowman or snow angel" she teased floating over to him.
Satoshi shook her head slightly "Well they must want you to go work for them pretty badly for a premium price that's that high all the same. Could live like a king in full retirement one day from the sounds of it.. Though for now you're stuck with my little apartment so last chance if you want to get something for yourself that we're not already carrying speak now.."

Oassu chuckled "Well I had planned on crossing the rooftops actually but we could always make ourselves a little snowman since we're up here if you like" he said cuddling Felina before hopping onto a chimney.
Gil shook his head "I'll be fine, just if there's anything else you want for a birthday breakfast go ahead, must be a shame having it so close to the dragon festival, must get joint birthday/festival presents all the time" he said turning and whistling to Enkidu to fall in behind them as they made their way back to the counter.
Zadina nodded "You're probably right Amane, he must have been really healthy when younger" he concluded before watching Hebal dress up Jeckhart "Yes indeed you do look quite nice in that outfit, Mr Jeckhart it's imporant to stay warm out here anyway. It'll be even colder tonight after all" he said watching as the shopkeeper muttered a few words in elvish "He says it's two thousand gil for the whole ensemble." he translated.

Hebal grinned wrapping the scarf around Jeckhart's neck "See that's no trouble at all, really cheap and look really dashing at the same time so can't go wrong. Here we go, that's my contribution to the outfit" she grinned handing over her money indicating to the price tags on the gloves." See hehe, I'm totally a fantastic stylist! And while we're there... I think I could do with a nice scarf for myself too.. this little red one in fact" she decided.
Amane grinned before leaning in closer to Zadina "Psst. Is mum always this much of a impulse buyer when travelling or is she just in a festive mood? Mum will no doubt also be very healthy when Alpha's age." she quietly whispered into his ear.

Felina gasped watching Oassu in surprise "Hey get down from there or you might fall and disappoint some kids expecting a dragon to fly through the chimney full of gifts" she teased floating to the bottom of the chimney. We can make a snowman in the palace later if you want. Maybe even a snow viera. But for now I want to warm up a little and exchange gifts before the ball."
Satoshi hesitated "Nope I'm good... well maybe a small birthday cake would be nice though its not the same if you buy it for yourself so I think we're good" she decided slinging the stuff on the counter. "I get a load of joint presents but I don't mind being born so close to the festival. Just means I get an extra days celebration holiday to everyone else"

Oassu chuckled "Sure sure, lets go home for the presents those will be great fun" he said hopping down from the chimney "I'll be ok used to do this all the time across rooftops it's just good fun" he said taking Felina's hand.
Gil nodded "Well I'll see if I can pick you up something while you sleep then for a nice cake." he said cuddling Satoshi tightly as they walked with a chuckle. "You sure do, I suppose, so long as everyone isn't burnt out from the festival".
Jeckhart nodded examining it "I think it's quite nice having matching scarfs like that, they look nice too" he said reaching for his wallet before paying for the clothes "Thank you all for your help and generosity" he said politely.
Zadina nodded giving Jeckhart a little money to help "I'm not sure, she always seems so enthusiastic and happy like this but I hope she is, probably will be from all the exercise she gets" he whispered to Amane.

Hebal stretched satisfied with what she thought had been her own hard work "Well now that's all out the way... how about we get Amane a little pre meal snack to keep her going a little while and then we go back to the palace and get all dressed up for the occasion. I personally would like some of that toasted marshmallow I can't help but smell somewhere which I think all of you would love" she recommended.
Amane nodded "That's what I was getting at. For all the bouncing she does she manages to stay pretty fit and could probably eat an entire mountain of ice cream without getting fat unlike most of us" she agreed scratching her ear in thought. "I don't know what marshmallows taste like but if you guys say that they are nice then I would be willing to try it"

Felina paused slowly taking Oassu's hand "Well I will let you lead the way since you will probably need to time your jumps properly where as I can just float on across. Is that what you did as a kid then as part of your thief training. If so must be pretty agile. Should try running through trees sometime if you want to try a bit more of a challenge sometime. Would make you fit right in with the other people who sneak around here"
Satoshi laughed "Oh I always made a point of making sure they weren't. no hangovers for my parents growing up. Though don't worry about the cake thing its not the end of the world" she replied bagging up the goods after paying for the last few things. "But before we drop this stuff off I think it would be a good idea to invest in a couple of blankets. You know in case you ever come back when its colder or even if Enkidu would just like something to keep him comfy overnight" she planned out.

Oassu nodded "Yeah, wasn't too difficult, the challenging bit is climbing up, couldn't do something like this in Kunec since their rooftops are just as lively as their streets but rooftops typically make good getaway spots" he said "Lot more buildings closer together in Agralia though, flatter roofs too" he said releasing Felina's hand to leap on across onto another chimney "Though I probably should try some forest training sometime, according to that book I got, most ninja train that way and move like that in forests" he said warming his hands on the hot air coming up from the chimney.
Gil shrugged "If you say so, wouldn't be too challenging but your parents will probably have something for you anyway I imagine when we visit tomorrow" he said looking down at Enkidu and petting him "And Enkidu definitely doesn't need blankets, he's from a snowy region himself his pelt insulates him well against the snow and temperature" he said proudly.
Jeckhart thanked the shopkeeper and accepted a bag to store his clothes while he left the scarf on "Well certainly we can go and get Amane and Zadina a snack, after all I'm sure you've picked up on the pleasant smells Amane" he said.
Zadina nodded in agreement bouncing excitedly as Merric kwehed in agreement from within his robes "Hehe sorry little Merric, it's too cold for chicobo's out here but yes that sounds like a great idea" he said frowning as well in thought "I must admit I've never had a toasted marshmallow before either so it will be an experience for both of us" he said petting Merric to keep him warm.

Amane nodded at Jeckhart while she linked arms with Zadina and skipped after her mother "Oh yes Mr Jeckhart, can't you smell all the delicious baked stuff in the air. Amazingly it's just not quite enough of a smell mix to make you feel uneasy" she answered reaching over to pet Merric. "Sorry little guy but maybe we can let you out and about at the palace later since that will be heated up"
Hebal stopped ruffling the children's hair "Well you guys are in for a treat today and of we're even luckier still they might also have chocolate fountains to dip your food in and ... ahh I will stop rambling and let you see for yourself. And...whee it does have a chocolate fountain" she gasped and cheered the moment she spotted the stall.

Felina gave Oassu a small round of applause floating on beside him "Makes sense since travelling in trees in places like this would be a lot stealthier than trying to sneak through the streets with the right camouflage. I wouldn't want to run around Kunec anyway without having a good knowledge of the streets. Wouldn't want to accidentally fall out the sky or hit a dead end during a chase"
Satoshi paused giving Enkidu's ear a scratch before going to the fabric store anyway "Then he will have a fancy cushion anyway or you can just use it for yourself when it gets really cold. As for my parents... tomorrows visit will be more a brief goodbye thing before we leave to the airship pick up point as that will be a bit of a hike back to civilisation"

Oassu nodded "I suppose so, though it's not like you need to sneak through Yithra's city streets but good point about Kunec, whether they got a team for that or not still doesn't sound like a fun experience." he said hopping over to another chimney.
Gil shrugged "If you like though I got no guarantee he'll really use it" he said petting Enkidu again who seemed to sense he was being discussed "Still shame it'll be so quick, bet they'd enjoy some more time to celebrate your birthday" he said taking Satoshi's hand as they walked.
Zadina gasped as Amane tugged him along slightly before he caught up in speed "Well I'm sure it'll be very tasty but we shouldn't have too much, there's going to be plenty later and wouldn't want to make yourself sick" he said pausing to fix his ruffled hair once they'd stopped.
Jeckhart tilted his head examining the market "No sorry I don't have quite the powerful nose as you do but Zadina is right, don't go too overboard here" he said counting several stalls selling strange sweets and baked goods around them.
