Didn't take long for Sevilin to get what was asked of him and head back to the dinning room, plopping his goods on the table. Though he watched Malik a moment and then shook his head with a smirk. That elf thought he had it all together and that no one could tell, but there were always signs. Drow were just better than others at hiding things. This would be the part where Sevilin would offer reassurance...if he didn't know better that it was better that he didn't say anything.
Malikhai and Zykariel each had five dishes each, balancing them in thier holds. "Yeah, I think that this is enough, mommy doesn't each much anyway so this should last a loooong time." Thus toddling out to his father. "Da-" Though he was stopped as Sevilin had walked over and shook his head.
"Come on, I'll show you what we need to do." Thus ushering both out to the stables, grabbing the suits with him as he passed, Malik needed a moment to two to himself right now and maybe Sevilin could keep his mind off of things later, but for now...of to see a damned horse."
All three pretty much collapsed as soon as they got what they deemed a safe distance away from what was a now fire spewing inferno of conical rock. No one should ever run up that many stairs when it is that hot. Ever. Never never, ever. Piper lay on her back, breathing hard for the moment. Well she was soot smudged, burned, scraped, bruised, tired, and bleeding. Idly she wiped some blood from the gash in her cheek and rolled over to her stomach, forcing herself to her feet and then pulling Leaf and Fin up as well. "We're camping...come on, let's find somewhere suitable. Serino, keep a nose out for Ramoth." They'd get settled and patched up, Ramoth would find them and she'd have some information to send back to Malik...hopefully it would all work well.

Zahara finished up Malik's order and headed back down but when she caught sight of the drow she stepped back. He was really worried about her, really worried about her. She nibbled on her lip a moment and then decided it would be better to just head down to the stables and take care of it herself. She knew how to pack a horse. It was a brief thought in her mind about what it would be like to have someone care about you that much, to worry over you and want to be there with you. Maybe that was love? She didn't know but she headed out to the stables and found her son, Malikhai and Sevilin. "Hey guys." Sevilin got a lift of her hands to indicate bags of burn ointments. "Ramoth is going?"
Zykariel walked carefully so things didn't fall and followed his father out to the stables then grinned as his mother popped up. "We made food for Miss Piper. Well..not made but it counts."

Malik worked on Zahara's books, letting numbers keep him occupied. the problem was, after centuries of doing books in the slave trade, or reviewing them, when he concentrated solely on that he was done rather quickly. and marking down a particular name as well that had managed to sneak off without a full payment. he'd get that one as well.
but books done, Malik leaned back and stared at the dagger in the table. the item that represented piper on that map. all sorts of things could be wrong. he could sense pain, exhaustion. a hundred scenarios playing in his mind, a thousand outcomes. damn the oracle. damn her a thousand times over and any offspring she produces as well for this.
Malik got up, and walked upstairs to the bedroom he shared with Piper, opening up the amoire that held his old blue tinted neriak armor. then opened the drawers, looking for something in particular. he'd stolen it off a fallen paladin in the halls of valor. it wasn't some grand magical item, more of a trinket that had caught his eye at the time.
there it was. it was supposedly able to ward off disease, and infection through it's divine forging. a little clear globe on a silver necklace. he didn't know if it worked, or if it was just a superstition. Innoruuk knows he'd seen enough of that from shadowknights and paladins alike. but it was something.
So he came back downstairs and headed to the stable where everyone was apparently gathered up.
"Is everything prepared?"

"Yeah, I think she can handle it. After all, Piper took Serino and Malik certinally can't leave. You and me need to stay here, and I doubt he trusts anyone else. Hell if I was in his shoes and Nym was capable, I would be sending him. Taking things from the boys, he and Zahara managed to back up the mare...okay mostly Zahara because he didn't like horses and this particular nightmare seemed to know that. Stupid horses. But his attention turned over to Malik as he made an appearance as well. "Everything's ready."
Malikhai of course was quick to toddle over to daddy with the pick me up gesture. Now daddy was the one who wasn't feeling happy and that wasn't good either. Oh he knew he shouldn't of said anything.

Zahara had to soothe the Nightmare's ruffled feathers for a good ten minutes before getting her to do anything. Why horses didn't like Sevilin she would never understand. They just...didn't. She patted the horse gently and then glanced back at the boys giving them both a smile. "She'll like that very much." Those were dropped onto Ramoth and then she stepped back as Malik appeared. He knew where to send her after all, no one else did. Moving to stand beside Sevilin she studied Malik for a moment. It was kind of odd yet endearing to see him this way. She didn't quite know how to react...

Malik picked his son up without a second thought, walking over to Ramoth and petting her nose lightly, watching her, holding her gaze for a moment and sitting his son on her saddle while opening one of the bags and putting in the necklace.
then offering his son a smile and patting him on the leg before turning his attention to Ramoth.
"Piper is a hundred and fifty feet from this location."
holding up the map with teh dagger cut in it. he knew she would understand him. he and the nightmare shared a very close connection.
"You are bringing her supplies, and something from me. I want you to make sure she's alright. and Serino as well you can spend some time making sure he's okay. Anything she sends back you accept. I don't care how trivial."
petting over Ramoth and watching her eyes.
"I know you want to stay here, since one of your mares is going to foal soon. Piper was looking forward to it as well. they are hoping for a fire winged zephmare. but your herd has earned it's reknown and it's size in no small part to Piper and Zahara. So you do this for me. be quick, and be safe."
then he picked his son up off the saddle, and walked Ramoth out of the stables to the open underdark. then gave her a smack on teh flank and she reared and ran, flames spurring until they faded into shadow. then he looked at his son.
"there, mom will be completely fine with Serino and Ramoth. no need to worry about her."
Ramoth ran through shadow and flame quite quickly and quite easily. she'd rarely, if ever, seen malik with that kind of look. this was important, and a top priority. nto to mention her herd stallion was out here too. and he'd damn well better been taking care of things like a member of her herd should. no slackers or weaklings for her. the location malik gave reached fairly quickly, and some snorting nad stomping nad trotting around..brimestone and fire scent..and a cool wind that had no place being around such an area. which she set off after.

He let his eyes trail and drop to Zahara, watching her a moment before placing a hand on his son's head, petting at his hair lightly. A sigh from him and then he returned his look to Malik. Yes, that was a man who was holding back the urge to accomplish something himselg when he didn't want to. It was undersandable and admirable as well...some things weren't that drow perception of weakness. But he gestured to Zahara and gave his son a nudge. "Come on, things to be done still inside."
He was merely quiet and watched his father go about things, though he was still feeling rather guilty about it all. But he guessed that if daddy was going to send things to help mommy then it was kind of a good thing that he said something...so he couldn't feel too bad. A blink and he rested his head against Malik's chest as he watched Ramoth go, turning his eyes up to his father as he spoke to him. "Just like you promised."
Piper set aside what she had finished writing, looking over to Leaf and Fin who were quite asleep at this point. She would strangle a man for some vision and come clean water. They had eventually found themselves a little camp away spot that was relatively 'safe' in the underdark wilderness so to speak...not that there was any place truely safe out here. Piper rubbed a dirty hand over her eyes, before trying to shade them slightly to get some sort of vision. Damable bright flashes of light. Though her eyes came to the link stone she was holding, which was now nothing more than a rock....maybe it would recharge. Malik couldn't be too happy what with that conversation of earlier and the implications behind it. Normally it would of been easy to simple feel out a bond an reach him telepathic means....but her telepathy had always been crippled and distance didn't help...and if that was tied to innate magic lines in anyway, it wouldn't matter it would be gone.
A sigh and Piper reached a hand back to pet at Serino's nose as he nudged her shoulder and nipped at her hair giving a nicker. "Yeah I know...hardly silver at all right now." That was the problem when your hair was almost white...got dirty really easy. And with hers being as long as it was right now...well yeah didn't help. Though he scrambled a moment as the horse more or less dragged her to her feet by her cloak and started pulling. "What? What is it." She climbed the little outcropping of rock that they were all behind, even as the horse trotted around it and down a slope of land, quite happily. Like he was expecting someone. Oh wait she just got it, and she brightened considerably. "Ramoth..."

At the very least he gave credit where credit was due. And that was something for Malik. She met Sevilin's eyes for a moment and nodded giving him the signal that she'd be in shortly. Strolling through the stables she idly pet at the noses shoved her way, nickers and occassional nibbles. And there was her baby. Faete gave a soft nicker and she moved into his stall, resting her head against his, petting his nose lightly. "It's just not fair, is it boy? Why should those we care so much about have to do things that could hurt or destroy them?"

Malik took his son inside, and set him in his chair at the dining room table, and took a seat across from him.
"Now that is done, what is it you'd like to do, son? anything that sparks your interests that we could arrange for?"
Ramoth entered into the line of sight, fire trialing from the shadowy area around her, before a nicker to Serino, pawing at the ground and shaking her head about. yes she was indeed demanding the answers to her own questions about his well being and needs that might be fixable by her, before trotting to Piper and snorting lightly at her, tossing her head toward the saddlebags laden on her person, and flicking her ears forward at serino to translate malik's request of information.

A look to Zahara and a nod, picking up his own son and carting him back inside, setting him down. "Are you finished your lunch?" Because the boy had expressed his interest in going about learning hand to hand combat after lunch was through and well he wasn't going to go back on his word now wasn't he? Nope.
Malikahi looked across the table at his father, perhaps in business like matter. Well, truth be told he was craving a childish game of pirates or some such thing. But he didn't know if daddy was up to that or not, he still felt a little funny...like mommy had felt when he was doing something new that she thought he was too little for. In other words, worried about something. He should work on his studies...but what child wanted to do that. Thus he tilted his head at his father in rather Piper like manner. "Let's do something you want to do daddy." Maybe that would make daddy feel better.
Piper took a moment to scan immediate surroundings before she dropped down the rocks and followed after Serino the small distance, giving a smile at the familar talk of horses as Serino went about reassuring the mare that all was well and that he was fine and he was indeed looking out for Piper. Someone had to watch her after all, what with all the mess she could get into. She was quick to pet at the nightmare as she trotted over, it was actually such a very very nice thing to see her, comforting for the most part. "Good to see you girl." Taking hold of the horse's saddle and leading her back over to where the three were making camp, not that camp was more than a 'safe' spot. No fire or anything even. Thus she went about unloading the horse, looking to Serino however as Ramoth emparted her own questions that Malik wanted to know. "I'm fine...little tired, very dirty, and mildly injured, but fine."
Of course Piper always made less of what was wrong with her than the actual severity. In reality, she was at a point of exhaustion, even for an elf, but it was her turn to keep watch while the other two slept. She looked less than the noble Lady D'vinn that she was, more or less rather dirt caked from head to toe, as well as her clothing definately showing wear and tear, burnt edges as well as burns on skin underneath, various cuts and such, the gash across her cheek, and of course her hair currently a half muddy half sooty color. Yeah fun. Though a pause as Piper had pulled out the little necklace that Malik had packed in among supplies. She looked at it for a moment at first not sure what to make of it, after all it looked more present-esque than supply. But a minute or two of contemplating it and she just smiled, taking a second to clasp it around her neck.
"Alright Ramoth, you get to take this back for me." Fetching a packet of papers from where she had been sitting, and slipping them into the horse's saddlebag. "A note each for Malik and Malikhai, along with a map for him to piece with the other one, and some notes and such on the fire temple...I'm sure he'd find it interesting at least, or a good explination for earlier. As soon as my link stone works again, I'll get hold of him." Giving another pet the mare...definately nice to see her. "And tell him thank you and that I love him and Malikahi both...and not to worry too much."

Leaf was asleep for most of Piper's exchnage with the strange horse, and stayed quite when she woke up at what she assumed was the end, or nearing the end of it. She did not want to disturb what she precieved as a 'moment'.
She would wait until she was sure they were finished before adressing Piper at all.

"Go on now, before he thinks you've been gone too long and starts to worry more and feels the need to send the calvalry or some such nonesense." She knew how Malik worked after all, though her ears twitched at the sound of light movement and she turned her attention back to those that were in her company, seeing Leaf had decided to wake and had that curious look about her person. "Awake I see." Rumaging through their new bag of stuff, she pulled out a jar and flipped it's lid, sniffing at the contents before closing it and tossing it to Leaf. "Take that, good to use on any burns you may have." Piper settling down once more, rifling through other things...well well it seemed Malik was going to make sure she was well prepared.

Leaf took the jar, smeared some of the salve on a burn that crosser the bridge of her nose, ruining the tatto she had there. She'd have to get it touched up later. Some here, some there, nice stuff. SHe roused Fin and handed the jar off to him.
She sat cross legged, watched. "Who was that horse, just now?"

Meanwhile she had taken out her own jar of the salve, smearing it on the burns that were easily seen on her rather pale skin. Those would sting for a few days wouldn't they? Of course they would, because life liked to do that to her. It was hard being positive sometimes. But she turned triple colored eyes up to Leaf, who unlike usual seemed to be in a vocal mood. "That was Ramoth, my husband's horse. She's a nightmare." Giving a bit more information, since she knew horses weren't main mode of transportation here. "He thought it best to send up some supplies and such for the rest of our little task. He worries."

"A nightmare." She did not have much to say beyond that, except what a terribly name for a horse-creature, but she did not think that suitable to say out loud.
"That must be nice, the worry I mean." Unsually vocal yeah, she usally stuck to short answers, short questiosn. No digging no prying, she was uninterested. Usually.
"I have another question for answer, if you please. You do not seem to like Fin and I so much, even though we are kin. Why is that?"
