It is death.
Just apparantly his soul/spirit has a function or tie to something that keeps it from going passively to the after life/ brings him back from it.
I mean, this is Gaia, white mages can revive anyone who wants to be revived, uber-cloning, dark equivelants of the white-mage rituals, a god can favor you, or someone might even be playing a god/a character who is eithe unreasonably powerful or has some other excuse to make or find a new body and come back. I have a character who was dead before I even started rp'ing him over a year ago and was revived by a special sort of ritual usually used for sealing demons in bodies in this world, because it's side effects included making him more powerful and giving the reviver the ability to command him, though unlike other revival systems, his body depends on a flow of energy from an outside source, which used to be this man, to keep functioning.
I still consider him dead. Because, frankly, when the body goes away, that is death by mundane standards. It might not be uber-Gaian-soul-erasing-death, but you're still dead, until you come back.

Nihilistic_Impact Ianex, just how powerful is that bomb? HMX (In the form I am using it, as it is commonly bonded inside plastic as opposed to carbon) could leave a rather large hole, produce quite the shockwave, and the actual area of "blast" for a detonation explosive of its size is somewhere in the range of 1000 meters (actual formula being 1.9 g/cm^3 = 9,100 meters per second). However, since this is a fantasy setting, and she constructed it so fast, I tend to make her bombs such as this one cover about an area of about 50 meters. The explosion is still powerful, but much more contained. I can't really give you more information than that without directly providing a counter for it.

Well that puts you in the blast radius even at 50 meters, infact if I recall corectly you're 25 feet away, or about 8 meters.
I'm going to do some googling.

Yes, but Hohoemi has designed everything about her gear and body to be able to essentially HUG a bomb and survive, though not exactly without consequence.

Well this s**t is used to implode fissionable materials or in other words jump start a nuke. So even if your suit survives you're still hurting.

Yes, she will be hurt by the waves afterwards, and she would be quite uncomfortable due to the heat, but no serious damage. Also, its all about the manner in which HMX is processed, but yeah, that is one of its applicable uses.

Yep, that's right Jak. I have a nasty habit of closing the distance and with you taking the time to pitch it I have that same time to charge and with my great stride close the distance to within striking distance.
