Okay, different references.
Superman wore black later on in the comic series, before he eventually absorbed the sun. One comic episode even had the black Skin-tight latex with glow-in-the-dark S.
Good guys wear black.
Also, if you watch Gladiator, Maximus is in black, while the emperor of rome is in white.

luke skywalker wore white until ROJ. anakin wore white in TPM, the rebels starships favored white paint tones while TIE's had a darker hull color. Samurai Jack wore white, good cowboys in old westerns wore white hats and had white horses.

I'm speaking of newer generation heroes. Not ones based on old time movies where the purity of white must be maintained. Of course,

yes, the hair looks nice. if you wanted to, you could even use it in place of a bayonet charge, just impale them on the spikes.
