From experience, Ruuvan had found that if people behaved playfully before fighting, they ended up being better fighters; if not skill, then by the psychotic pang within their minds, but he figured this warrior had just been alone too long and wanted some conversation before getting things rolling. "Well, if you hadn't noticed, I had other things on my mind than thinking about their reasons for attacking, such as defending myself against them." Ruu laughed slightly, showing it was a joke all in good fun, but he was still remaining ready for anything that might happen, "So when do I get the stone?" Simple and to the point.

The voice sounded like it was pouting now. "Oh, come on. Don't be so boring. I don't like people that are no fun. Don't you want to know, even a little?" She wasn't psychotic- those that had lost their minds completely were not, in all actuality, better fighters. They lacked dicipline and focus.
This one seemed different. She wanted some intelligent conversation for the first time in all her centuries down here. Maybe if he participated, things would go a bit smoother?

Seeing as the more direct approach wasn't working, both indications coming from her response and the tone of her voice, Ruuvan decided to participate in the conversation before whatever was next, but he would never let his guard down. "I'm guessing you had something to do with it, a kind of trial, right?" He was still looking around, waiting for the woman to have a physical appearance instead of water or whatever form she was in, "I know they're indangered and I can't fight back... it was an effective challenge, I must say. Only a wise person, such as yourself, could've thought to use them in such a way. I have to say I am impressed." Not flattery, just saying what he thought.

"Well, he's smart as well as capable. A few millennia earlier, and you would've made someone very happy in my time." The voice giggled again as the waters suddenly came forth! But they didn't attack- nor did the waters receed at all.
Instead, they collected just above the grave marker, and began to take a shape with the feet and legs forming first. The curves and lines took shape effortlessly, and soon- rather quickly, in fact, a woman stood before him, balanced on top of the grave marker. Clothed in a white strapless dress with the hem ending at the ankles. Green eyes, and hair with so many shades of blue one would think it were the ocean itself.
It was her! The one from outside! And around her neck, on a golden chain, was a three-inch wide, perfectly spherical sapphire that shone with an inner light and had a bindrune facing toward Ruuvan.
"Now then... tell me who sent you. And remember- the water seeks truth."
Which meant that she could tell if he were lying.

Ruuvan didn't aim to make people happy, but he always succeeded if that was his intention, this time he just wanted something to complete his mission. However, all these thoughts were washed away, if you'll excuse the pun, as the water started forming into an orb in front of his very eye. He took a few slow steps back to give the forming woman space, also to give him some time to prepare should she quickly leap into an attack, but he instantly recognised her as the woman from earlier. "That's an interesting route you must've taken from up there to get down here before me, eh?" Ruu smiled again and laughed slightly, making another joke, "And what a pretty gem you have in your necklace."
He listened to her question and furrowed his brow, huffing slightly at having to reveal names. "I work for Evan White, owner of Raven Industries." Maybe his name would spark interest, maybe it wouldn't, but he had more to say, "He asked me to get the ten stones, something about an old war... I didn't care much until he said about the best warriors in history. I'm now seeking to prove myself to the gods, as it were, whilst completing the tasks Evan has given me; think of the money as an added bonus to renown amongst the heavens." Ruu laughed again and shook his head, really getting into it a bit too much. He had said what she wanted to know and now he would wait, always ready and always waiting.

"Hmm... Evan White... the name is familiar." She furrowed her brow for a moment. He wasn't lying- there was someone with that name in existance. But then again, Ruuvan had no idea who he really was. She smiled with the obvious hint of Raven Industries, and had already deciphered who he was.
But it wasn't like she was going to tell him about it, though she had the right to. She was just happy that someone from the Aesir had survived. It meant that there might be others as well. But that's niether here, nor there.
"Well then, you're a noble one if you do not care about a reward. Ambitious too- a place of renoun in the Heavens. Interesting. Tell you what-" She snapped off the chain with a jerk of her right hand, and looked at it in idle speculation as she continued her speech. "I'll offer you that 'place in the skies', along with this stone."
She then threw it up into the air with a flick of her wrist and a sweet smile. The damn thing went about fifteen feet in the air- pretty high for a flick of the wrist- before she continued speaking. "That is... if you can take it from me!"
Warning! High-Risk Enemy!
As she caught the sapphire on the way down, her right hand clenched around the stone, thus focusing her lifeforce into the gem and activating the rune. In a flash of light from the bauble, she began to change... her hair seemed to tie itself in a warrior's ponytail, with a silver baretta as a clip.
The light descended, seeming to cover her from head to toe, and her form shifted and changed yet again. Armor began to form over her arms, legs, and body. A stylized helmet was formed on her head. And from the focal point of the gemstone, something came forth- a spear. A kwandao, to be exact.
The blade was almost two feet long and had a wave pattern on the back, leading to the hook near the base of the blade. A keen edge surrounded the weapon, making it an incredibly effective weapon for piercing, cutting, and hooking as well. With a five foot long pole attatched to the base of the weapon, it was built for range and efficiency. And within the blade, near the very base, was a the gemstone itself. Equipment Check Weapon: Dragon's Head Kwan Dao, "Leviathan" Overall Length: 91 1/2" Handle diameter: 1 1/4" Weight: 85 kg Blade length: 23 1/2" Width: 8" at widest point Thickness: 0.78" Hand-guard: 5 1/2" in length & 4 1/4" in width Spear: 11 1/2" long & 3 1/8" wide Special Characteristics: The Rune Stone is placed just inside the entrance to the dragon's head, thus making it look like it is holding the gemstone in its mouth. Gemstone Ability: The weapon can change form in order to fit the situation. This does not only apply to the weapon, but the wielder as well- the ability to change shape and form into a solid, liquid, or mist form is inherent as well.

Evan's name obviously had a significant impact on the Guardian, what with a smirk appearing on her face and a brief pause in their conversation flow as she mulled over what he had said. It was after all was said and done that the challenge was issued; the stone being thrown up and caught, along with a verbal version, before the woman transformed into a rather formidable looking fighter - definitely a Guardian.
It wasn't her armour he was looking at however, but the weapon she now held in her hands. A long, spear-like weapon with a broadsword blade facing towards him, along with the dragon head holding the gemstone he needed in its mouth. Ruu wondered if he'd get the weapon along with the stone, only as it was such a nice ornamental piece, but this was quickly washed away as he remember he actually had to fight the woman for his prize. There was no time for him to say some witty insult, never mind the fact he couldn't think of one, so he simply lowered his stance to semi-crouching with his right sword in front and the left one behind, waiting for her to strike - this would be a fight to remember.

"I see you're ready," she said with a grin. She raised the weapon over her head, twirling the massive 85 kg weapon above her head as if it were a bamboo staff. Hell, she was a warrior of the gods- she could do that quite easily. Quickly lowering it into place, angled slightly upwards toward Ruuvan's head, she took one step back with her right leg and shifted her left leg forward, and bent her knees so that the weight distribution would be 70/30, with most of the weight on the back leg.
"Okay, then. Let's have some fun!"
Prepare To Defend Yourself!
The Rune Stone flashed briefly before she suddenly rushed him, her figure blurring as she came at him full tilt. Her speed was befitting of someone who had been in battle after battle, and even with such a long and heavy weapon, her charge was swift and sure.
But before she came within range... she vanished. Completely and totally disappeared. In reality however, she had not simply gone into another dimension... just another form. Her mist form- one that was pretty much uesd for surprise attacks. And it just so happened that there was water everywhere- in the air, on the floor... hell, it was on his clothes.
Who knew where she'd pop up next?

And so started the battle between Demi-God and mortal. Guardian versus the treasure hunter. Something versus something else. No matter how you said it, the battle would be a tough one and end up with only one victor and Ruuvan intended to leave with the stone and not dead - he was already dead in a way, but he knew what he meant.
Ruuvan stayed his ground as the Guardian charged towards him, the impressive spear lowered and poised to stab straight through his body, but he wasn't going to let this just happen. Moments before the woman disappeared, Ruu took a step to the side to avoid the move he saw, but then she had vanished. He figured she was simply using the Water power that was held within the Sapphire and moved into another form, given that he had seen her turn into water previously, so now she was in another form. Ruu couldn't stand by and simply let this happen, so he used the small momentum from his step to slash upwards with his left sword and where she was before changing form. Simultaneously, he used his right sword to slash in a vertical line behind where he was standing - even mist could be cut, but whether it would hurt her was another thing altogether.

Thing was, it didn't. How can one hurt something like vapor, unless it were some neuclear detonation that pretty much destroys all particles within blast radius? Awnser- you can't. So she vanished as he struck, and he would hear a sound behind him... the gathering of water particles.
The next instant, if he were not fast enough, he'd feel a metal boot on the back of his head. She was coming from behind and slightly above so that her left leg would impact straight on his head. And as for her kwan dao? It was held so that the polearm would be perfectly in line with her body, her right hand lightly cradling underneath the weapon near the spear while her left hand gripped the weapon near the top half of the weapon.
The move was done quickly and without pause between phase shift and attack, so it would look like she had simply come out of thin air. The only indication of her arrival would be the sound, and a cloud of mist before she reformed in mid-air.

The familiar sound of a blade cutting through nothing but air sounded around his blades, his attack missing her whilst in mist form, thus rendering her invincible whilst in said form.
having slashed out behind him with his right sword, Ruuvan used this to continue to turn around and face his rear, so he saw the reforming cloud followed by the warrior's foot coming down for a kick in his face, but he wouldn't let that happen either. Still moving his right blade, Ruu used this weight to take another rather hasty step out of her foots path, thus out of danger, but he wouldn't stop there. Having used his left blade to slash upwards previously, he was now in a perfect position to bring it down on the guardian's falling leg. What with her being in mid-air and mid attack, this would be hard to dodge, but she could always turn into mist again and further irritate Ruuvan.

"Whoops, bad idea," she said as the man stepped to the right. His blade came down on her leg, but met the broadsword's jagged back edge. All she had to do now was shift it backwards while she was landing and the weapon would be trapped between the hook and the third ridge.
Then as she landed, she would turn in a clockwise motion while in her low stance, not only tossing the captured weapon towards the far edge of the platform, but would make an attempt to sweep him off of his feet with her left leg... and her momentum would give her enough force to swing her weapon around after the kick with her right arm, the hand gripping the kwandao's midsection and the blade edge in line to cut him in the side.
Or at least, have him get whacked by the shaft as it came around, depending on how close he was upon the attack.

Ruuvan couldn't stand people who had to throw in those little comments whilst fighting, he just wondered why the hell they'd take the time to say it instead of letting their opponent figure things out. As soon as those three words left her mouth, Ruu knew something bad was going to happen, especially with the metal clang ringing through the cavern as his left sword hit the rear of the broad blade of the spear.
Having remained slightly crouched himself through the previous few moves, he had enough tension to perform some kind of a jump in one direction or the other, but his mind was quickly made up as the sword started to turn out of his grip as the Guardian attempted to disarm him so early on in the match. So, with his sword turning and little choice but to go with the flow, Ruuvan used the tension in his legs to jump over the Guardian's leg and follow his sword towards the edge of the area, but his weight meant he stopped after three or four feet of flying. This is not to say he avoided the spear; it came up quickly after he cleared her leg and slashed across his lower back, splitting the undead skin in a clean line before he performed a 180 turn roll and ended up in another crouching position facing the Guardian once more, both swords still firmly in his hands.

"Nice one!" She said before charging forward again, flicking her right wrist and sending the broadsword spinning in a circle as a feint motion before thrusting forward towards Ruuvan's midsection... and turning the blade into a temporary mist form for a quick retreat before stabbing again towards his throat. Repeat, stabbing towards his chest, near the heart. Thighs. Shins. If the last hit connected, Ruuvan would be knocked to one knee quite painfully before she thrust heavily towards his now exposed head, twisting her torso in order to add power to the one-handed lunge.

Just a little bit closer now... Ruuvan thought as the Guardian came charging towards him once more, this time spinning the broadsword section of the spear before going for, what the NightVisor told him, was a fast stabbing move to his midsection; thus rendering her feint ineffective.
Seeing as he was near the edge and rolling to the side would still make him fall off, what with the platform being circular, Ruuvan was left with little choice but to use the shadows around him. As she came closer, he decided to play his own feint against hers. Rising up slowly and moving ever so slightly forward, Ruuvan started to slash out with his left than right swords in a cross-hatch move, getting closer to her and appearing to come for a head on collision to her attack, but at the last minute his body erupted in shadows and he disappeared. This sudden cloud of black would surely blind the Guardian, but she might've continued with her attack as the shadow left was so dense it would feel like the blade was cutting flesh, so maybe she would be tricked into thinking her attack had connected.
However, this was not the case. Milliseconds after Ruu disappeared, he reappeared behind the guardian poised to stab with both his swords in opposite directions, kind of like a pincer move at the Guardians sides. His right sword to her right and his left to hers, what with being behind her and leaving a doppelganger, he could only hope it worked.
