I've hooked up my DVD/VHS player, PS2, and laptop to it. So far it's been great. I did a ton of research and settled on the InFocus SP5000. I was going to buy one after I sold my car, but Woot.com listed one for $735 with a 76" screen, which is $600 off retail. No way I could pass up that deal.

Lol at people starting school soon. I start Sept. 28. Of course I also got out in the 3rd week of June, which is later than most.

And my PS2 can survive being played on some 30" tv. Maybe out of college I can get something better, although my first goal is to buy a house. I don't want to rent my whole life. The problem will be finding something that is actually affordable.

I had my first in-car driving lesson... not with Chuck Norris (thank god) but with my dad.

Never trust an Asian behind the wheel of a car. xDD I can't really drive in a straight line yet. The wheel hates me.

Haha! I've actually just gotten my Permit not too long ago. I haven't had much trouble, but my dad is annoying when he takes me driving. He freaks out at the slightest little thing, despite the fact that it's MY car. Best of Luck, hon!

Thank you. ^_^

I pumped the gas and my dad was like, "Noooo! Not yet!"

We were about two-thirds of a football field away from the curb of the parking lot in which I was driving. xD

Heh, driving.....

After a couple times I refused to get into the car with my mom. My dad ended up teaching me.

Don't worry, you can't possibly drive as bad as some of my friends. One guy doesn't pay any attention to what he is doing, and consequently is going to get into a crash at some point. He practically needs someone else in the car to make him watch for things like stop signs, other cars, or big rigs....seriously.

After he tried to justify driving 100 on I-80 through Sacramento, I have not ever been that "someone else" in the car.

I have gotten lost several times over the course of my driving and have crashed into at least three different cars and have gotten quite a few parking tickets. I have even been ran off the freeway, drove over broken glass, and crashed into the freeway barricade. As if that was not enough, my car was even stolen from by my own brother and when I got it back it was completely vandalized with paint (which I have not been able to cover up) and less functioning.

My Grandfather died just over a year ago, three months later my coworker died, four months ago a close frind of mine died from asthma, my other grandfater id dying, my grandmother needs to go to a nursing home and my other grandmother is going into surgury that is as likely to kill her as it is to save her!

When one is faced with a loved one dying, do not be sad for them. Feel joy for them for they have left to a better world. I had lost my grandmother two years ago and was angered by why she was leaving and how it could have been prevented. But it is the nature of life for it to end and as much as it may sadden us we must not let it. They may lose their physical presence here among us but they continue to live on in our thought, our memories, and most of all our hearts. So long as you remember them, feel for them, and keep them dear to your heart as you did when they were around, they can never be gone and you will always have them to watch over and love you still.

Awww, I'm sorry, hun. *hugs* ]:

I've been lucky enough to not experience much death in my life. The only really tragic death in the family was when my mother's best friend in China was murdered by a couple of thugs trying to rob her office.

I remember a few years back when I was nervous about my road test, but ended-up passing it with little trouble at all. Driving isn't really difficult once you get used to it, and becomes second nature after enough practice.

Seliphra-I am very sorry to hear that, and you have my sympathies. I have only one surviving grandparent myself, so I understand what you are going through right now.

Four hours of taking care of my friend's puppy convinced me to never get a puppy, ever. Older dogs for me thanks...So much hyperness. Crazy manic puppy I swear.

But the good news is that he is easy to train, and learns quickly.

I decided to postpone getting a cat, because my work schedule at the moment requires me to do long hours, and I may end up applying to grad school. Have to have a little more time before I get a cat.

Depends on what type of puppy you get. You could get, say, Satan's Terrier and be up most of the night with constant whining and destruction of household items, or you could get a Pyrenees, which sleep for the majority of the day. I'd go with Pyr.
