Duellist

Taryn suddenly felt the relief leave her, and she just collapsed against the wall. "What...? A spectre? And what other kid?" The young vampiress didn't like the sound of it. "Will they be all right?" She asked, nervously. "...wait... that's the man I love out there! They're doomed! He'll think of something silly, and do it..." She collapsed against the wall, almost starting to cry.

I don't know who the kid is, but he and Sirus obviously know each other. -She said quietly, swallowing the self-pity she felt at not being able to help before reaching over to help Taryn.- "A warrior is only as good as those he left behind."

Have faith, Taryn... Duellist is neither a child nor an inexperienced fool. Stupid things he may do but when it comes to it, he's more careful than you'd like to admit. -She offered the woman a faint smile.- At least... when it comes to such things as Death. Besides, he's got you to come home to.

-If only she had the will to speak in such frank honesty when it came to such things in her Pride, they would respect her if not accept her. A fighter was not something Mimi aspired to be, but it was undeniable that she was Bagheera at heart. At least the Bagheera before the curse.... There had been a time in which even the Pomonga had searched for a Bagheera's wisdom...and in an essence they still did, just *not* Mimi's pride. - Come, lets get you some tea...or would you like something else?

Taryn sighed. "I... don't suppose you could warm up some blood, could you?" The young vampiress asked, softly. 'That's the one thing I really miss, if I had to pick something out.' She flushed softly. "I'm sorry, it's just... I mean..." she didn't know how to put it. "I'm sorry, it's difficult to explain... but... what would you do if your sister or someone else you cared about was out there?"

Kourin has a content and peaceful look on her face. Sweet things seemed to trigger that emotion from her. She then stands, becoming bored with sitting alone. She continues to sip away at her drink, as she makes her way out of the bar. She then walks out of the hotel completly, thinking that the only option to 'destroy' her boredom was to explore this place a little bit further. She notices that the mechanical doors are busted.

"Odd..."

((Sorry about controlling your character there for a sec Midori. sweatdrop ))

*Sirus watched as both Midori and Duellist vanished, one hiding in the bushes, the other floating off to who knows where. He shook his head as he crouched next to Reiki in the safety of the shadows. Taking a deep breath, his gaze lay on Bertram, waiting for the specter to come.*

***

*Long moments passed in silence. Despite the fact that Reiki had said that the specter was on his way, Sirus couldn't help but feel uneasy. Certainly the ethreal creature should've come by now. Right? Then why had so much time passed? Pursing his lips, the demon hunter's grip on his weapons tightened. Something was most definatly amiss. That's when he felt a sharp pain enter his back.*

*Stunned, Sirus could only gasp as he fell forward, letting his body crash into the concrete ground. The pain was unbearable. His hands feebly felt at his backside, trying to find the source of his pain. He could feel warm blood flow freely, soiling the ground around him. His vision dimmed...*

"Besides, the group Duellist is with.. It's not like their children either. Each one seems to be talented in their own way." Hakan would chime in finally, with a rather bored, unworried tone. "Duellist himself is a master of death of goodness sake.. Sirus.." As much as he hated the guy. "Seems to have some talent.. And something bugs me about the little kid." In short, he was saying there was nothing to worry about.

However, Hakan was better suited for battle with a specter then Midori. ][ ninja I even had a freaking awesome attack planned.][ And the young demon was rather depressed that they hadn't asked him to tag along, but.. C'est la vie. He was happier with the fact that he'd gotten Mimi away from that evil man! (Sirus)

And then there was Midori, hiding in the bushes using her scythe to hold her up. Eyes shut, she had her ears open. She heard something.. Something happening to Sirus, but what?! Had their plan failed?

Duellist watched Sirus suffer a spasm of some sort. He sighed, and readied a deathspell. If the demon-hunter didn't stop that soon, he'd be forced to send him to the other side. Bertram, however, was not so patient At the sound from the bushes, he shrieked. "AHH! It's the spectre! It's come to eat me!" The wraith growled and switched to spiritual form, drawing his scythe. "I warn you! I... I'm armed!" But he was still tied to the bench, so it all looked rather comic.

Duellist

Taryn sighed. "I... don't suppose you could warm up some blood, could you?" The young vampiress asked, softly. 'That's the one thing I really miss, if I had to pick something out.' She flushed softly. "I'm sorry, it's just... I mean..." she didn't know how to put it. "I'm sorry, it's difficult to explain... but... what would you do if your sister or someone else you cared about was out there?"

There are people who care for out there... -She said quietly, helping Taryn to a stool at the bar. Without looking up she grabbed a bowl and poured water in it, only to dump a packet of blood. Once she covered the bowl it went into microwave for about a minute.

She didn't speak until the blood was warm and served before Taryn.- Sirus and Midori can take care of themselves.... -She paused, chewing on her lip for a moment.- And if Ryoko was out there too, I'd have the confidence that she'd come back alive.

I should be out there too, Taryn. But I am weak.. pathetic. I'd only be in the way. And all I can do is be brave for them... Put it this way, Taryn, if Duellist were to check up on you know and find you in the state you are, a nervous wreck....don't you think that his worrying about you impede his sucess?

He loves you. Be brave for him. It would give him a piece of mind. -She gave Taryn another weak smile, her eyes now diverted at the task of folding and unfolding a paper napkin.- It doesn't mean you can't worry...

Tony slowly walked up to Taryn and Mimi, struggling to move, relying fully on his cane. He was about to speak, but his head fell forward and he pushed himself into a chair.

Taryn sighed. "My mind just feels so empty, though..." She didn't want to be worrying, she wanted to know he'd be back. And that wraith with him. "...maybe..." a thought occured to her. "Who said we couldn't go out after them?" She sipped at the blood, thoughtfully.

Then Tony came in, a mess. "What... and who... are you?" She asked, temporarily distracted just when she needed to be.

Surprised, aren't you, Black Knight? *A cold voice belonging to that of Reiki echoed in Sirus's ears.* No matter. Although Rei-kun was a bit disappointed you did not figure out his intentions sooner. He was hoping you'd put up a fight. Not that it would've changed things. *The boy let out a malicious laugh. Squatting down next to the man, the kid took the dagger that lay embedded in his back and shoved it in deeper, twisting the blade as he did so. A cruel smile spread across his lips as he watched his victim maon in agony.*

So how does it feel? Rei-kun hopes it feels as painful as what his parents felt. Yes. You, Black Knight, were responsible for their deaths! If you hadn't released that demon, then they would've still been left alive, and Rei-kun wouldn't have been left alone! *A lone tear rolled down the side of Reiki's cheek. Letting it fall to the ground, the boy took a stand. His fist clenched tightly.*

But after tonight, that won't be the case. Yes. Mother and father will be with Rei-kun once more. But first- *His gaze goes over to the others.* Rei-kun must kill them. Yes. Hopefully they'll provide more of a challenge than you. *Leaving the dying man where he lay, Reiki walked slowly over towards Bertram...*

Kourin continues sipping away at her drink, passing though the graveyard, making her way into the haunted house. She was curious to see the place all covered in dust and cobwebs. She slowly opens the door to the house, and a faint red glow comes from her hat. She doesn't notice is, since the hat brim keeps the light away from Kourin's eyes. She looks around, laughing lightly.

"Wonderful. This place is still the same as it was all those years ago."

What in the world could she possibly mean by that?
