MissZooya xSyriax thanksgiving is a reason to have all your family over, and eat alot. Personally I've always liked it, though I'm not a fan of the turkey thing. I like that I can eat and eat and eat and not have to stop. Its a good feeling. And theres parades and drunk people, everything that a holiday should be. But leave it to one of the fattest countries in the world to have a holiday that revolves around gluttoney. xd
Haha, yes, let's keep it in USA, just as we keep our Surströmmingfest and Kräftskiva here in Sweden xd Yea, I can honestly say that I've never heard of those holidays. I don't eat meat anymore, but before that I wasnt a big fan of the turkey. The white meat is usually always dry, but the dark meat, which is only found in the legs is so moist. But turkey also has all the chemicals that makes you sleepy. Its a big deal here because turkey is only served on thanksgiving. Personally I like thanksgiving because I like to eat too, but the side dishes like mashed potatos and peas. Haha. And there in my house there is a massive amount of pies.

(Surströmming is a fish that many people think smells awful, but it tastes quite good^^. Kräfta is shrimp.)

One thing in South Africa that we ALWAYS do come sun, shine, rain, frost, hail, etc. ANYTHING! Is BRAAI! Aka Barbeque! There is a technique involved. There is lots of rolls and salads. We even devour one of our national specialities, boerewors (directly translated as Farmer-Sausage) which is surprizingly divine! Except not if you know how we get to said sausage sweatdrop
And the great thing about braaing is, it's great for drunk people. Because there's always tons of leftovers. And you can just keep eating it the same night after the main dinner. Then again the next day for breakfast and lunch and dinner and GOOD LORD I LOVE BRAAING!!! gonk heart
