Well, marching season is officially over, at least for my band, and we've started Christmas music.... and to my suprise, I dislike it. Nothing is more annoying than at least five different key changes...and boredom. I want my first part back.... I have third, which is incredibly boring. With time comes better chairs I guess....

our concert band sounds like crap and their echos are flying high. they think they are the best band in the world and they are so bad it isnt even funny. i'm sitting in class trying not to cringe. its horrible... i've marched for 4 years now, and i'm not sure which i like better- marching or concert music. they both have their quarks but each have their advantages. I now have two clarinets, one of them is which i've had since 7th grade so.... 6 out of the 8 i've been playing and the other i just got 2 weeks ago. its pretty old but its plastic... i seem to like the wood ones better....

Being from a concert band for two years, I have no problems with it, infact, I never really do considering teh fact that my band director picks music that we find appealing [I mean hey, I almost got us to play final fantasy two years ago o____O; alas, I failed at that, for he forgot, I forgot, but I have successfully persuaded him to make us play sanctuary.] its probably the fact the music you have is either way too easy or just not...eat catching? o_O;...I dunno ~_~; don't flame me...I'm in a bad mood...
anyways, I don't think I'm ever going to experience marching, yes yes I know I may be missing out on all the fun you guys have but you can't complain if I'm hopefully going to a performing arts highschool...if I fail at that, my bd is sadly leaving the middle school and going to dbhs to start a performing arts academy...eh...so who knows o_O;;;
Luckily, I go only to wind ensemble and not concert band [zero period is hell but worth for Band] but I just fear what will happen at our christmas concert when we play with them, I don't thinkthey've gotten worse...I hope they got better XD I have some hope in them
mm I have two so far, on is wooden, one is plastic...I still dream of the day my teacher will give me his custom made clarinet XDD ^^;;;
AGH!!!!!!! FUGUE! During P.E I realized that All Southern is a week and a half from now, my scales are a little uneven and my chromatic is not perfect...my piece has quite a few quirks crying ~_~;;
yeah I'll shut up sweatdrop

I just realized our symphonic band is awesome. eek We were playing this piece ("Interlochen Variations" if you really wanna know) and we've only seen it 3 times; we can't take them home because they're originals, and we can play it like we've had it for a month.
I miss marching band already crying But it's also a good thing it's over since it's getting really really cold out there.
Now to pester the band director to find out (and possibly influence) next year's marching show. It'll be my senior year; I want it to be something that I love and will remember forever-Star Wars!!! cool *cuddles plastic lightsaber* (Man, I wish there was an "ubergeek" emoticon I could put right here... sad )

*sighs* I've got an audition tomorrow for an honor band directed by University of Nevada Las Vegas' director. O_O I'm scaredededed haha
but the piece was rather simple..which is a let down D:
BTW I'm a newb here on gaia and in this guild. I've been playing clarinet for 8+ years and am active in my high school's wind ensemble (we don't have a marching band D: ) But yea, I'm Janelle btw biggrin Glad to meet all of you guys!
