TableTopWatch Xel resorted to stuffing his mouth at the last moment to gain a few more moments in order to mull over just why he had sliced the young man up. He didn't really think he had a reason. He was just falling back into place- to what they had always done. Who could be the last one to get the upper hand before supper? That's how it had always been. Winner gets a cookie (to give to Peyton), or a new dagger, or possibly (In Xel's case) a kiss from a certain mage.
That's how it had always been.
Swallowing thickly Xel set dowm his fork once with a soft frown, "I don't really know why I have to explain such a trivial thing to either of you, but if must know~ I wanted the strawberry pie Jup made," he murmured, not explaining anything further. [[Ruehl and I are NOT DEAD. We shall return. Hence the below return. RETURRRRNING NOW. Criminy. I have so many people to revive this is nuts. No idea where my last Muertian post is.]]
Ruehl's peridot orbs stared incredulously across the table and his voice was lost to utter silence. Was this... man... completely dense? He attacked a commander-- Ruehl's favorite commander, at that, for a pie?! Had the prince not been raised to have proper edicate and diplomacy for dinner guests, he might have been inclined to raise a clod of mashed potatoes to the knight's clean face.
Instead, a few moments later, he blinked his gaze away. 'Compromise... compromise...' he chanted in his head. "Do you... like strawberry pie a lot, Xel?" he asked patiently, clearly intending to take this somewhere.

Mie-tanuki Jillian's eyes fixed on Faryn's frame and he opened his mouth to reply - to speak, to say anything, to-- but at that point the boat began to pass through the holligraphic Wall and the screaching became so earsplitting that it was all Jillian could to to clamp his hands over his ears -- and he did. With that onslaught of sound, he seemed to have recovered his wits and he half walked, half stumbled over to where Faryn was, out of the stairs.
And he left none too soon for, only second later, the stairs began to cave in as their supports collapsed in on each other.
And they were through the Wall. The boat began to decompose almost on the spot and it was only seconds later that there was nothing left of it but fragmented debris. It had all happened so... fast.
With the absence of the boat, it was silent. Eerily silent. Jillian dog-paddled over to particularly large chunk of the boat and held onto it. He didn't know how far they were from land on this side... but his guess was that they were... very far. Dark, cold water hit the Death prince's system like a shocking jolt. Faryn could remember Jillian coming closer to him, but where he was-- where anyone was at this point, was beyond him. He could feel the drag of the water pulling at his clothes as he tried to thrash to the surface. Faryn felt himself hooked on something by his cloak. He pulled himself along the garment, up and across until.
"Haaa, haaa, haaa," pants and gasps for air came. Luckily a rather jagged piece of ship had ripped and caught his cloak securely enough because certainly, Faryn was not a swimmer. He felt a rather dull pain in his arm. Dark eyes looked around. Where were the others?

Sayael had fallen into the water and plummeted down several feet into the clear dark depths until he seemed to regain his wits and swim up to the serface. He was, fortunately, not wearing any heavy clothing and therefor didn't have much of anything to weigh him down. He swam easily over to a peice of debris - he was quite a good swimmer, but he figured that it would be best to conserve his strength - spotting Faryn at the same time.
"Hey..." he called slowly. "You alright over there?" He paddled over to the smaller prince, bringing the driftwood with him, until his was floating a couple feet from the other.

Mie-tanuki He sighed and his slender shoulders slumped in resignation. "I know... I know it's bad to lie... it is. But nothing's going to happen.... I mean, I...." He broke off. He couldn't say that nothing could ever happen because he was cursed - his curse was exactly what was pulling him towards the Death Prince - and Sylvia had no idea of the curse. Or that Rosaline wasn't human. He couldn't say that he was much too old for the prince - he might be over a centry old, but his apearance was that of a sixteen-year-old.
Utterly frustrated, his helpless expression was replaced by a small scowl. "This is all his fault," he muttured under his breath, refurring to his deseased master of a father. Sylvia rose a brow and smiled. "How do you know nothing's going to happen? The only thing Muertian can't stand is a liar. He might do bold and outrageous things, but he's never pawned his actions off on another. He doesn't lie. You don't want to keep lying to him until it's too late to tell the truth, do you?"
Meanwhile, Narcissa was beside herself. "WHAT is going on? Are you marrying my brother or something? Have you kissed him? Answer my questions!" she demanded childishly.
------------- Muertian found himself back in the Rose Garden, this time with a pair of scissors and a rather confused look on his face. How did you... get one without getting pr*cked too badly by thorns? More than that, which one would be adequate, no ... perfect to ask her to the festival with? A red one or pink one? Yellow, perhaps? Deciding... pink was Rosaline's color he selected one and clipped its stem. Unable to avoid the thorns of the bushes, his arm was scratched in the process. No matter, all for the cause, right? He made sure the stem was clear and then headed back.

Rosaline looked distinctly shaken. Telling the prince that he was... a... a man was... well, it was difficult, but it was nothing compared to the other secrets he was keeping. Rosaline nodded unhappily and sighed softly, shoulders slumping down slowly.
"I... you're right..." he murmured, looking distinctly troubled.
He was saved, however, from his own thoughts by Narcissa's intejerction. "I--" he began, face flushed, expression showing flustered surprise. "No, of course not, I--" He was getting too drawn in. He stopped himself midsentence and closed his eyes, slowly heaving a great sigh. "Nothing is going on...." he replied to the girl, his tone now more mild.

The knight looked up from his plate, almost distracted as he sought the prince's bright-eyed gaze- much different from his own dark brown eyes. "Hm? Do I like it?" He muttered in a questioning tone, spearing a carrot with an amused grin before he looked upwards once more.
"Well, I would think that was obvious, my dear prince. I can't attack Haar for just nothing," he said with a grin, one hand scratching lightly at the stubble along his chin. "The prize has to be a good one and strawberry pie is a treasure fit for someone like you, or maybe even your father if he fancies the stuff."

Despite how it stung, Dax opened his eyes to take in what had happened. The coldness of the water wasn't so much of a shock to the Ice Prince. It was the darkness around him, the loss of something solid under his feet that sent him into a panic. He made to gasp, instead taking in a mouthful of water. His thoughts were rushed, incoherant to a point. All he could make out to do was reach the dim, blurred light above. And so from pure instinct, his legs worked frantically to propell himself up. By the time he took in a harsh gasp of air, he could swear he had swallowed a gallon of water. His lungs were burning and he had become light-headed. Another few seconds of being submerged and he knew he would have drowned.
But what he needed to worry about now was finding something to keep him above water. Already his legs were feeling tired, and he wanted to give his vision and head time to stop spinning. He snatched at the nearest piece of driftwood, clinging to it as if he were holding on for his life. Burying his head in the crook of his arm, he began coughing and sputtering up some of the water he had swallowed.

[[o__o;; Okay.. Um, but where did he go?]]
A short chuckle left the young royal's lips at the other's frank response. Clearly, this knight loved his food. Hopefully, such a information would be to Ruehl's advantage in some way. "Right, right," he agreed, raising a forkful of mashed potatoes to his lips.
"So... I had wondered, since it seems you know some things about the commander that I obviously do not..." he continued carefully, "How would you feel about a chat over strawberry pie? In fact, I can be sure Jup makes you... however many strawberry pies you like depending on what you could tell me." Bright eyes now seemed to avoid Xel's dark ones.

Wet, silver strands clung to the side of Faryn's face and a shiver ran down his spine. His legs seemed to still be learning how to tread water-- every few moments, a dreadful sinking feeling returned to him before he kicked again.
Hearing Sayael's voice, Faryn's eyes sought a silhouetted form. His voice seemed lost for a minute, as if there were no possible words to describe his state than...
"I'm alive," he called back. Faryn attempted to shift the board further under him, but he gasped as a sharp pain that shot up his arm with the motion. Wincing, he rested it over the jagged edge of the floating debris.

"That's always good to know..." Sayael remarked. Whether it was meant to be a joke or mearly a statement was unreadable. Although, in their present situation, a joke was highly unlikely... even if it was Sayael.
He reached with one arm and lightly touched the other's hand. "You might want to... slow down a bit. We'll probably be treading water for a while... and I don't think it'll be good to wear out too quickly...."
Jillian had landed some ways off from the others, having been near the stairs. In fact, he had only narrowly missed being burried under the falling, splintering wood. However, instead of drowning, all he managed to come out with was a long, but shallow, cut along his upper arm that stung horribly in the salt water as well as a few minor bruises.
"...Faryn? Sayael? Dax?" He couldn't see any of the others. He had grabbed onto a rather large and relitively unsplintered piece of wood, which was fortunate, but was unab,e to locate the others, which was unfortunate.

Sylvia looked supremely pleased as Rosaline admitted such a thing as 'you're right.' Truly, her favorite phrase.
Narcissa rolled her eyes and stepped off her fitting stool. "So you're not together?" she asked persistently, "That is so boring! Why no--" But the young princess was soon interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in," she declared.
"Rosaline?" Muertian walked through the doorway. "Can I borrow you from my sisters for just a quick moment?" He glanced at each of the princesses before flashing a smile at the pink-haired boy.

And Rosaline, again, turned, his expression clearly showing the troubles of his conversation with the elder princess. "I -- yes, of course," he said, obviously quite frazzled at the moment. But he wiped that from his features as quickly as was (in)humanly possible and instead filled the space with a bright, if hesitant, smile and he seemed to force himself to relax, his shoulders lowering slightly.
He took the few steps to the door - closer to the other - and waited for whatever was to come.

He'd have to count his blessings; he could have drowned.
He could have drowned.
A terrible sinking feeling began to drain hope out of Faryn. He hadn't heard his voice... he hadn't seen his face... he didn't know where that stupid, green-haired boy was. This sensation-- was it worry? Faryn frowned and kicked again, anxiously. Before he could dwell any longer on the thought, he felt Sayael's hand touch his own. Black eyes snapped to the barely-illuminated Prince of Darkness. "What?" he asked, voice short to hide any quaver to it. Feeling perhaps he was too sharp, his voice softened to an, "Oh, right." His kicks didn't really change despite his efforts-- Faryn wasn't the best swimmer. In fact, he didn't really know how to swim. But he attempted to go slower, nonetheless.
"... Sayael, I don't know if you have any brilliant plans now... but--" Faryn cut off a moment to figure how he could possibly word his need. It boiled down to, "I need to find him. You don't think he's...?"

It took the Dark prince a moment to realise what the other was talking about. "I need to find him." It could have been anyone... but Sayael had a pretty good idea about who him was. And, if he wasn't mistaken, Faryn most deffinately seemed concerned.
The prince shook his head slowly. "I'm sure he's fine," he said after a small pause. The truth was, he wasn't sure. At all. But he didn't really want to say that to the other... Not only did the Death prince look quite distressed, but he had also been known to curse anything and everything that displeased him (not that Sayael was afrad... he just figured they were in aenough of a predicament as it was).
"As for plans... I'm afraid the only future I can see is swimming. I know roughly where land is... and there should be boats furthur in towards the coast... I hope.... But I suppose it would be best to find the others first. What do you prefure - shouting or swimming?"
