Rayne Bloodstone  Who will save your soul...Secret - Just because I can and don't feel like moving to another thread.
I'm not your typical person. Most people, when they get birthday/holiday money, instead of spending it on myself for something "I" want... I save it to buy friends/family gifts for Christmas and specifically for my mom on her B-Day....after all those lies you told? I tend to save half of the money I'm given, and then spend the other half on gifts. My brother's birthday is really soon after mine (and then 2 out of my 3 closest friends are really soon after that x_x), so I have trouble getting enough money for something nice for them if I don't

@ Rayne - I think I sold mine when I was desperately trying to get my Sentinel hair. I've lost so many of my items to quests. xD And I'm pretty sure I own all of Barton Jewelers except for the glasses, watch, and heart box. I just love jewelry - be it IRL or on Gaia.
And when I get extra money, I think of it as outside of my budget and wait until I have something that I want that's over a budget I want to stick to and use it then. Hey, if it's not counted in my budget I don't have to feel bad for spending it, right? xD You're much more charitable than I am.

I tend to not worry about my brother, his gf and my nieces along with other family members considering my mom takes care of all of that but I feel obligated to get friends something (even if it's just online) and my mom something. Lately I've been trying to stretch all the money I get as much as possible.
I kid you not, last year I had 50$ for Christmas and I had to split that between my nieces (4 girls), my brother and his gf, my grandma, my uncle and his wife and my mom. (I wanted to get everyone something :< ) ._. I ended up having to cut back and only give my Uncle and Grandma art as gifts of their favorite animals. The friends got stuff online, while 2 also got cards in the mail. Cho got a little Christmas tree if I remember correctly. It lights up red blaugh
Most of the money went to my mom though since a lot of stuff was hand made but bought with a lot of my money. (Clay charms) She has yet to wear one gift but uses the rest. xp We don't go any place fancy so she can't really wear the sweater without looking out of place.

Or there's the black goth skirt rather then the little black shorts. ---o0o--- Morning Riri! ---o0o--- Yup I simply love buying presents for people too <3 Well if getting other people presents makes you happy the it's ok! I mean thats what the money was given to you for anyway... to make you happy! Making presents is always nice, I dont tend to get the time to really do that much... but I can still make cards! Dont worry Ray and Riri I'm sure the people understand. Besides, the fact that you put time, effort and thought into a gift is what really makes it special!

I only have one offline friend I feel comfortable giving art as a gift, because she's the only person I know who genuinely appreciates it rather than saying thankyou, but also meaning 'I wish you'd given me something better'.
I tend to be picky about who I buy things for to help stretch out money. I don't buy gifts for my younger siblings, because one of them has never met me, one probably doesn't remember me, and the other one... well, as bad as it sounds, I'm slightly bitter that my mother doesn't even send me cards nowadays, but she spams pictures on Facebook of all the great places she takes the kiddies; and all the random gifts she buys them. I don't think that my sister really needs gifts for me when she has someone buying her expensive MP3 players and trips to Australia.
I have a cousin I don't buy stuff for either. He shot me with a BB gun. I don't like him. xp
I'm pretty good at making money stretch for the people I do buy for though. I like to go to charity stores and things, buy cheap stuff, and then customize it a little to make it seem brand new. I like to come up with... creative gifts too. I once gave my cousin permission to bully me for a week. In retrospect, it was a bad idea though, because one my other cousins got annoyed at him, to put it lightly.

:3 Last year was the first time I made hand held gifts. I was watching this girl on Deviantart who makes all these cute little charms and I had to try it out. I'm not "that" great but I think I'm fairly good at it. My nieces adored them ^^

I love getting art as a gift. Heck, I prefer that then someone giving me an item even if it's worth 5G or 1Mil @-@ Art is something I can keep forever if my computer doesn't get cleaned out. The items, on the other hand, can vanish at any time :c
Geeze.... I wouldn't get them anything either. I've got 4 siblings. 2 brothers, 2 sisters. I only know 1 brother and barely know 1 sister while the other two only acknowledge my existence if I am on friendly terms with my "father" which won't happen, ever, again.
^^ Peddler malls and flea markets are the best place to go to get a fairly cheap but unique gift. I remember going there one year and my mom got my uncle someone's home made recipe for this ungodly hot wing sauce... x.x I swear my tongue blistered. He practically adored it. Of course my family doesn't show much emotion so to the average person he came off as "ok, wtf is this s**t? Thanks anyway...... stare " xD
Making your money stretch now these days is hard though. Hell, there is this adorable little shop in the mall down the street with all these unique items and it used to be an affordable place.. I got myself this cute Buddha monk charm with gold accessory paint for like.. 50cents a looong time ago... :c It was 5$ last time I checked the place out. ...after all those lies you told?

I know what you mean about everything being more expensive nowadays. Last year, I ended up having to buy a joint present for someone, because my friends and I couldn't find anything within our price ranges.
What's funny is that a lot of the places I can think of that are still cheap are closer to Central London... so I have to take public transport in. And public transport is REALLY expensive here, so I end up spending loads anyway. x_x

Most of the places around here are fairly close besides the flea markets and peddler malls. The only flea market I like to go to is the one that's hosted in a stadium down in KY once a month. They normally have seasonal items so it's best to go during the summer when it's all mixed up instead of Halloween/Christmas or else you will end up with jack-o-lanterns and jingle bell earrings. stare ...after all those lies you told?
