Okay. Facts that are known for sure.

One. Bigass tower was dropped on their mansion.

They claim to have been inside said Mansion. No real reason to doubt it, but it's a point to bring up.

Two. They survived the events of Bigass Tower Smash. One managed to get through without a scratch, or got healed really well. The other has scars on both midriff and face.

Three. They will not contact you until you've done your task for Edmond.

Four. The item they give you is a "Blood Broach".


So there's basically what we know of now. At least from this set of current events. On top of what we know about them before hand.

For example.

Has Aging Technology: Captures little Gambino and somehow that makes him age like 7 years in as many months.

Two: Interested in the possession of the younger Gambino, and opposed in some way to the elder.


None of this really points to Vampires. At least not in the "Sucks blood and hates Garlic" as most others have pointed out.

They see the Edmond quest and Von Helson quests as being quests of opposing forces.

If that's the case, how come I couldn't do one until I did the other?

Why would Edmond be moving against them if they hadn't shown their faces yet?


This shows to me that they're allied. So it's not going to be like The Masque goes Vampire Slaying. But rather it's a Cell within a Cell. Edmond is recruiting for the Von Helsons perhaps. Though if he is aware of that, is up for grabs.

It is entirely possible the Von Helsons are backing whatever he's up to.


Two... scars suggest at least one of them isn't a Vampire. At least not in the Dracula sense. My theory? I'm going with Cyborg or Bionics at this point. Massive damage to their bodies, and corrective surgery for Cybernetics or Bionics could make sense. Plus that is more inline with what they do for the official Storyline than Vampires and magic. wink

Three, they are raising funds. Last time they did that, was in the Anti-Gambino campaign right before The Tower was built.

Obviously they're moving against the Gambinos again. That's the only logical reason. However, they have probably been made aware of the various Alien stuff, and that Gambino has Interstellar summoning powers, etc...

I think their goal is the kid... now I said they weren't a Vampire. But I did qualify it. I could see them as being something like Psychic Vampires perhaps. Draining life could possibly explain the mystery aging, as well as why they bothered to kidnap/keep the younger Gambino.

Another theory. *shrug*

But the scars do suggest there was surgery involved to me. So at least one of them took a lot of damage in whatever happened. The other did not. Why? What happened? Could be anything. Not enough information.

I do have an inkling it might have been ol' Labtech X going and zombifying the Sister. Doing the Frankenstein's Monster thing. Again,s omething that fits with the storyline and makes sense in the context of the information so far.

Why Blood Broaches? Why Black Orchid Broachs?

The Garlic seems to point to "Vampires" as most thing. But Garlic has a lot more uses than that. The black Orchid has pretty much no connection to Vampires at all. Though it is a symbol of Death.

The Blood Broach suggests "Vampire" as well. But I'm not buying it. Too neat. "When the bait is obvious, it's likely a trap". wink Blood symbolizes a lot of things. Power, Youth, LIfe, Death, off the top of my head.

Could be a thing where they were bathing in Gambino's blood as an Fountain of Youth thing? Too dark for Gaia, but there are legends like that in real life.

The tower was actually designed by Gambino to attack the sisters. When I was helping the admins at Anime Expo (not this year, a previous year), L0cke pointed out that the tower was built in sections, and that they were in fact designed to fall in a certain direction. There was a sketch showing this, which also included small thrusters to help the thing topple correctly.

Now was he pointing that out before it fell, or after?

Because it sounds more like a "Cover my a** so it'll make sense" sort of thing. Plus makes me wonder why they never showed that before.


And yes, I know the full story of the Von Helsons. At least as has been originally released. They hated and were opposed to Gambino though long before the kidnapping. It wasn't like they kidnapped the kid and that started the Gambino/Von Helson feud.


The sniper doesn't make sense as the Von Helsons... I mean... if they were willing to hire a sniper, why not do it long before the Tower was ever built? Why wait for it to be completed before doing it? There was nothing to suggest they were being 'forced' to go that far, at least nothing that hadn't been happening for quite a while without them taking that step.

My vote was always for Third Party. Someone that didn't like the people of Gaia getting swept up in the fued. A vilgilante, though not "The Masque". No NPC I've seen fits entirely.


Think about that last line Goldbrease. "You have to do his quest to activate theirs so you get to freely choose which side to be on in the event."

That right there just shot your own point in the foot.

If the point was choosing freely between two opposing Factions... then it would have been executed differently. Think of Santa Cow vs. Alien Santa. You could recruit for either, at any time, with no real need to do one before the other.

In this one, you need to Support one side, BEFORE you can support the other.

If it is an Opposing Factions thing with the Orchid Broachs and Blood Broaches... that's a really stupid way to do it.

The sketch was shown before and after the event, as I recall...you can see it as one of the slides in the AX05 presentation I think, though I've long since burned my collection of AX05 footage to CD and lost said CD sweatdrop The sketch was shown as a preview of the event...then after the event was shown at AX.

Could have been on the AX04 presentation slides...wonder if there are still YouTube videos of it.

but if you remember back every event gaia has ever had has been glitchy.
