blink looked up at jack and frowned,
"Sorry no luck" he said looking ashamed.
He listened as jack asked who the girl was.
"Im not really sure, her names mildred, and she says she knows me but i cant remember her." he explained.

Mildred frowned when blink said he dosent remember her.
"i hope you remember soon" she said smiling slightly.
she looked up at jack and smiled at him"nice to meet you mr......" mildred said not knowing his name.

Kairi

Princess of Heart

The crimsonette laughed as Sora said he got this, and lowered the pumpkin over his eye further down to shade more of his face. He let out a creepy chuckle and snuck to the wall, and Kairi knew he would succeed in scaring the two.

Kairi watched as Sora jumped the wall and carefully made his way over it so that he was on the opposite side of his scare victims. The Princess waited for Sora to jump out and yell like she had, but he didn't. What he did was much more cool and scary. The red head saw him summon his Keyblade and cast fire. A circle of fire appeared behind the two siblings, and Sora then used Quick Run and practically “appeared” in the circle of flames. The boy stopped fiddling with his costume and jumped into his sister's arms as the fire suddenly appeared and Sora shouted "Boo!" in a dark loud voice. The two held each other as they screamed. The brunette let out a cackle almost identical to Jack's and the siblings let out an other shriek. Once the fire disappeared the two saw Sora clearly, looked at him for a moment, then laughed. They clapped and told the Keybearer he had done a very nice job scaring them, and they wished him "Happy Halloween" as well.

The fire and the cackle caught several of the towns peoples' eyes. They gasped and turned. When they saw Sora they cheered and applauded, telling him he had the makings of being a good scare master. Kairi clapped and cheered, then ran up to Keyblade Master. "That was awesome Sora! You're much better at this than I am. The fire was a very nice touch!" she grinned then laughed.

We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend.

Sora watched happily and satisfied as the two sibling screamed and held each other in fear. It seemed his spook had done its job. They finally realized it was only him and they began to laugh. He let out his normal laugh as well, then shifted the pumpkin mask to reveal more of his face. They told him “Happy Halloween” and he nodded his thanks as they complimented him. Like Kairi’s scare, not only the victims had seen the display. Nearby ghouls and goblins cheered for him as well, telling him he was to be a great scare master. He just chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed.
”Really, it’s nothing compared to what Jack…” his voice trailed off as Kairi approached him.

The crimsonette told him that he’d done a great job and that he was much better at scaring than her, which made him stop rubbing the back of his head and cross his arms.
”Nonsense,” he replied. ”I’ve just got more experience than you. If you’d spent as much time with Jack as I had, you could do way better.” He smiled. He’d kind of cheated anyway, using magic. Kairi had given those children quite the fright just by sneaking up on them, which showed she had natural talent. Finally, the crowd around them dispersed, giving them time to be alone again. Sora racked his brain for a place they could go where they could talk, and then he got an idea.
”Want to go on a little adventure?” he asked. He really didn’t wait for an answer and slid his hand into hers again. He wanted to show her a part of “town” that most people didn’t get to see. Plus, he thought she’d like it a little more than just Halloween Town.

Jack listened as Blink explained that they’d had no luck. He shook his head, sighing. It was okay, he really hadn’t expected them to find the two missing friends of his. But he’d still been hoping. He wondered where they could be, and hoped they were alright. Then Blink replied to his question, saying that he really didn’t know who the girl was, but that her name was Mildred.
”Ah, well, welcome to Halloween Town, Mildred!” Jack told her. She greeted him, but her voice trailed off as she didn’t seem to know what to call her. He snickered to himself then turned away for a moment, only to turn back suddenly with his fingers pulling his jaws down and growling ferociously.
”Who am I!?” he snarled, sounding demented. He released his mouth, then assumed a very dramatic position in which one hand rested on his chest while the other was lifted into the air. ”Why, I am Jack! The Pumpkin King! The King of Halloween! Hee hee hee!” He turned back to the girl, his expression now friendly. ”It’s nice to meet you! So, I suppose you’re with Sora’s crowd, hm?” Although Blink didn’t know her, Sora probably did. Besides, she looked like his kind anyway.

Sora told her that she was good at scaring too, it's just that he had had more experience from spending so much time with Jack. Kairi laughed and replied "Mmm very true! But it was still lots of fun!"

The crowd around them finally dispersed, and the couple was alone again. After a moment of thinking Sora asked Kairi if she wanted to go on a little adventure. The Princess smiled brightly and replied, "Ooh sure!" as the brunette slid his hand into hers again. "Where are we going?" Kairi asked, still smiling.

Sora grinned as Kairi asked him where they were going.
”It’s a surprise,” he told her, then looked forward again. He didn’t want to spoil anything for her, plus he really didn’t know how to describe the place anyway. Soon, the pair left the square and started through the graveyard. Then they even passed that and headed towards a forest that was full of dead trees. It was somewhat chilly, but it was always kind of cold in Halloween Town. The thing was, they weren’t in Halloween Town anymore. They passed many more trees and it seemed like he was leading her nowhere, and there was no path, so it looked like they could get lost. But the brunette knew exactly where he was going. So he didn’t show any signs of worry or panic on his face as they got deeper and deeper into the woods.

Finally, they came to a clearing. It was still dark out, which didn’t surprise him. He’d never been to this world when it hadn’t been nighttime, so it would have been strange if there was sunlight. In the clearing, there were several trees that circled around. Each had a door on them that had a different shape. One was a heart, another was a turkey. There was a flag and a shamrock, and an egg as well. The last, and the one directly in front of them, had a beautiful Christmas tree door.
”Kairi, this is where all the holidays come from,” he explained. ”See, the egg’s for Easter, and the turkey is for Thanksgiving. I think you can guess where the tree goes…” His voice trailed off and he turned to look at her. ”Now, you’ve got to keep this a secret. When Jack found out about it, the holidays went a little nuts for a while. So imagine what would happen if anyone else found out! So, this is our little secret, okay? Maybe we can come back here for Christmas or something…” Again, the Keyblade Master found his voice trailing off. He was doing that a lot lately. But this time he knew why. He was thinking about the annual Christmas ball. Every year, Sora would go alone, or with Riku and Kairi as friends. Kairi would always be asked to dance by some guy, and Riku was always very popular with the girls. Sora wasn’t much of a dancer, so if he ever got any invites, he usually turned them down. He wondered what the plan was for the dance this year, and if Kairi would maybe be interested in going with him again. Except, maybe this time they could go as a couple, not just as friends.

~

Jack laughed heartily as Mildred shrieked at his spooky display, then laughed. This was why he was the King of Halloween, and he enjoyed it so much. Then the girl told him that she had come on her own. This made him raise his would-be eyebrows in surprise. He knew this was a different world than wherever this girl had come from, so he found it strange that she’d gotten here on her own. Sora had explained to him that there were many worlds out there -- which of course he knew, because it was his responsibility to keep them happy on Halloween -- and none of them really knew about the others. It was this thing called the World Order. And so, as the King of Halloween Town, he had to keep that secret. He supposed Sora did his best to do the same in his own world. So then how did this girl, Mildred, whom no one seemed to know very well, get here on her own.
”That’s interesting…” the skeleton pondered. ”Zero, do you think you could go scan the outskirts of town real quickly? Look for Sally and the doctor, alright? I’d like to stick around here and chat with Mildred.” The dog yipped in agreement, then darted off. Jack turned back to the two humans. ”Well, Mildred, how did you get here? Landing in the town of Halloween is no easy feat, I hear.”

Kairi giggled a little and then replied "Okay," when Sora told her it was a surprise. The two of them left the square, passed through the graveyard, and headed towards a forest full of dead trees. The brunette led the Princess deeper and deeper into the woods. There was no path, and it seemed like he was leading her nowhere. The crimsonette feared they could get lost, but looking at Sora's face told her that he knew where he was going.

At last they came to a clearing. Kairi looked around and saw that there were several trees that circled around the clearing. Each had a door on them that had a different shape. The red head looked at all the shapes. She saw a heart, a turkey, a flag, a shamrock, and an egg. And lastly, on the tree directly in front of the them, Kairi saw a beautiful Christmas tree door. Sora explained that this was where all the holidays came from. Each shape represented a holiday. "Wow..." the Princess said in awe.
The Keyblade Master then told Kairi that she had to keep this their little secret. He also said that maybe they could come back here for Christmas or something. He trailed off again. The crimsonette smiled, and replied "Don't worry Sora, I won't tell anyone. This secret stays with us. I promise." Kairi paused then added with a smile, "And I would love to come back here for Christmas."

We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend.

Sora watched as Kairi looked around the forest with wonder, staring at all the doors that led to different holiday worlds. That had been his reaction when he’d first realized what the doors were about. The only two holiday worlds he’d been to were Halloween Town and Christmas Town, but he’d like to visit the other ones someday. He thought that would be a fun adventure. But for now, he had to focus on the current holiday, which was Halloween. More importantly, he had to focus on Kairi. He listened as she agreed and promised that she wouldn’t tell anyone. He smiled a nodded.
”Good,” he replied. ”I knew I could trust you, Kairi.” He felt that he could probably trust a few others, but Kairi more so than any of them. He was glad that she’d been the first one he’d shown, and also that they’d been alone. Because looking at that door to Christmas Town had convinced him to do one thing he thought he’d never have the courage to do.

Kairi turned to him and said that she would love to come back on Christmas. As much fun as that would be, Sora knew how busy Santa Claus -- or as the Halloween Town citizens said, Sandy Claws -- on Christmas Eve, so maybe that wouldn’t be the best idea. The best day to come back would be a few days after Christmas once things got settled down. But there was another reason he hesitated.
”You know the Christmas Ball is on Christmas Eve this year, right?” he asked her quietly. He wondered if she knew what he was getting at. Well, better to ask now rather than later. He approached her and took a deep breath. ”I mean… I was kind of wondering… if you would like to go… to the ball with me this year… you know, as a… date…?” He paused very often in that simple sentence, swallowing every couple of words. He really hoped she would say yes. He really wanted to give this a shot.

~

Jack stared at the picture Mildred held up for him, showing a fairy of sorts. Jack did not know about fairies, so this creature was very strange and foreign to him.
”How odd!” he exclaimed. ”I do believe I have inspiration for next year’s Halloween already! Thank you, Mildred!” He patted the girl on the head gleefully. He could definitely craft up a creepy fairy to spook the townsfolk next year. Certainly Dr. Finkelstein could handle such a simple project. That reminded the skeleton that they had yet to find his friends. He was still worried, but he had to keep entertaining the crowd, so he shoved his worries to the back of his mind. He put his bony hands up against Mildred and Blink’s backs and ushered them along into the crowd.
”Well, come along!” he urged them. ”There’s much to do and see here! It’s Halloween, after all! Hee hee hee!”

Meanwhile, Zero was floating around the outskirts of town, but he had no luck in finding Sally or the doctor. He growled indignantly and turned around to go back into town. He supposed he could check the doctor’s lab again. The group had already searched there, but it had been very brief and he decided that Sally could have been in the basement with the doctor working on something. So the ghost dog flew through town and phased right through the door to get into the lab. He barked a couple times, hoping maybe someone would hear him, then floated down the steps toward the basement.

Sally sighed as she straightned up from her crouching position, from which she'd been searching the dusty floor, looking for the battery for Dr. Finklestien's weelchair. It had mysteriously gone "missing". Meaning that Lock, Shock, and Barrel had stolen it and had either kept it, or hid it very well. The crimsonette ragdoll shook her head lightly. There was no way she would be able to find the battery right now. Not when she was so distracted. Tonight was Halloween... and no doubt Jack had already had his big bang to start of the holiday. Besides, Dr. Finklestien was currently sleeping. What difference would it make if she went out for a bit and searched for the battery later? She hadn't been in the lab when Sora and the others came out because then she'd been in the Graveyard, collecting Deadly Nightshade. She missed them on the trip back to the lab and it was then that Dr. Finklestien complained about the battery of his wheelchair having been stolen. She'd been looking for it ever since with no such luck.. She deserved a break.

Sally felt guilty and she looked up at the spiraling steps that led to her bedroom and to Dr. Finklestein's bedroom and equipment room. "I'm sorry. I promise to find your batter later." The ragdoll murmured in her saprano voice. She was in the basement of the lab, when she heard a couple of barks. "Zero?" Sally called, lifting her head to look up the stairs. Sure enough, Jack's loyal ghost dog came floating down the steps into the basement and Sally's lips turned up as she smiled happily. "Zero! I was beginning to wonder where you'd gotten off to. Normally you're always hanging around here somewhere. I'm very glad to see you." She told the dog fondly. "Did Jack send you to find me?" Sally wondered aloud. Was Jack worried?

User ImageUser ImageShe nodded to Alexander after he gave Shock the necklace and spoke to her, who thanked him before running off with Barrel and Lock to join the party in Guillotine Square. "That's fine. I'm sure you would after all that's happened," she said quietly, letting her white hair hide her eyes as she started walking again towards the lift.

Axel walked with Lakayna away from the center of town and towards another part of a graveyard, away from the noise of the halloween party. "I try," he grinned when she commented on how gentlemanlike he was as she curtsied to him. They eventually wandered farther into the graveyard, the bright yellow full moon illuminating their path. "Sure is," he answered. He then led her along the wall of the graveyard and suddenly got an idea. "Come here," he said and put his hands on her waist, picking her up and sat her on top of the wall in one swift move before jumping up and sat down next to her. He let a silent moment pass before speaking again. "I think we oughta come here more often," he said thoughtfully, looking at some of the ghosts wander around the graves in the distance.

Roxas sat down with Namine when she tugged on his hand to sit, only to watch Marluxia say that he was going to the party and go eat some sea-salt ice cream. He sighed a bit when he got up and left, leaving Roxas and Namine behind. "Well, can't say you didn't try," he said, looking at her with a light smile. He could feel the emotions his Other was having when he spoke to Kairi and eventually confessed his love. He felt the same way towards Namine, but did she? He felt it was too awkward to say anything about it. At first he thought about getting up, but he just sat there. He wanted to be with Namine for as long as he could. "You okay?" he asked, wondering if she might be upset about Marluxia.

Kairi

Princess of Heart

The Princess smiled when Sora said he knew he could trust her. "No matter what, you can always trust me," Kairi told the brunette.

After the crimsonette had told Sora that she would love to come back here for Christmas, the Keybearer asked if she knew that the Christmas Ball was on Christmas Eve this year. "Ah yeah, that's right!" she replied. The red hadn't thought about it recently, but it had been in the back of her mind. She always went with Sora and Riku as friends. Every year at least one boy usually asked her to go, but she always politely turned them down because they weren't Sora. Last year's Christmas Ball hadn't been a very fun one for Kairi, since Sora and Riku were gone. The Princess went alone, and just ended up being depressed and lonely because her two best friends weren't there to enjoy the evening with her. But thinking about it now, the red head knew that this year's ball was going to be so much better, now that all her friends were here.

All that quickly left Kairi's mind though as Sora approached her and took a deep breath. He looked nervous, and crimsonette grew a little worried and wondered if he was okay. But the brunette continued talking. He paused very often and swallowed every couple words, but at the end of his sentence the red head's worry was gone and was replaced with a sudden excitement. The Keyblade Master had just asked the Princess if she would like to go to the ball with him this year as a date. A bright smile appeared across Kairi's face a she exclaimed, "Oh! Yes Sora! I would absolutely love to got to the Christmas Ball with you this year as a date!" And without thinking Kairi clutched Sora's hands, leaned forward, and softly kissed him on the cheek. When she realized what she doing she leaned back, but didn't let go of his hands. She turned slightly pink, and gave a little giggle of embarrassment, but she didn't regret her actions. Kairi had wanted to do that for a long time. She just hoped that Sora didn't mind.

We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend.

Lakayna resisted calling Axel a showoff when he helped her onto the high wall then sat down beside her. The lavendernette's golden eyes looked to the huge yellow moon. She leaned her head against Axel's arm without really thinking just as he said they should come to Halloween Town more often. "Mmhm," Lakayna agreed. She closed her eyes, her thoughts drifting.

Sothing suddenly stuck out in the dragoness's mind, causing her eyes to open a couple moments later and look to Axel. She sat up, now looking to her fidgeting hands. "Hey Axel, umm...y'know the school holds...holda a dance at Christmas time every year and I was wondering, wm...well. I know it's usually the guys who ask but..." the whole time she was stutering Lakayna's blush was slowly getting darker, "I was wondering, well...would you...would you like to go...with me?"

Marluxia was tired of waiting for Namine and them to catch up, and it seemed that they didn't like fun. But eh wouldn't miss out on his first festival. He grabbed some sea salt ice cream. It was SO GOOD, and he saw why Roxas always ate it. He finished, and licked his fingers, then smiled. This was fun. He wished the others were here. Even Larxene would enjoy it.

Sora had to resist closing his eyes and looking away as he listened for Kairi’s answer. Instead he kept looking at her, but his eyes would shift away for a moment out of nervousness. However, the crimsonette was very quick to reply, though to him it felt like it had taken forever. She agreed very excitedly and this made a big smile appear on his face. He felt Kairi take his hands and then she leaned forward and did something that he did not expect. Her lips pressed against his cheek for a moment, then she pulled away. He wondered if she’d felt his cheek burning with blush as she’d done that. She was blushing as well, but she didn’t look embarrassed. This was all kind of new, so it was still slightly awkward. But it still felt good and right.

Sora decided to keep the atmosphere friendly and act normal, which he wasn’t really sure what that was since he’d just gotten a kiss from the most perfect girl in the worlds, or at least he thought so. He just tightened his grip around her hands and grinned at her, calming the blood that had rushed to his face.
”Well, that was the most definite ‘yes’ I’ve ever gotten from anyone!” he laughed. Then he pulled Kairi closer to his side. He was kind of unsure of what he was supposed to do, so he just did what felt natural. They were side by side now, and the brunette wrapped one of his arms around her waist, and the other still held her hand. He liked the warmth from her and could feel the light connecting his heart to hers. This was destiny, or so it seemed. The funny thing was, they’d never needed to share a Paopu Fruit in the first place.
”Great, now I can’t wait for Christmas!” he exclaimed. ”I already got my present.” He smiled down at her. He wondered if he was supposed to kiss her or something. No, he didn’t want to over-do it and make things seemed forced. He’d just do whatever felt right at that moment. And right now, just holding her was enough.

~

Zero perked his ears up as he heard a familiar, soft voice called his name. He floated down a few more steps to see Sally smiling up at him. He barked happily and flew to her side, going around her in a circle several times before stopping near her face and licking her cheek. He panted happily as she spoke to him, and then she asked if Jack had sent him to look for her. The ghost dog yipped and nodded his head. Zero was pretty smart. He comprehended everything he was told, and it was a shame that he couldn’t reply back in words. But everyone was so familiar with him that they knew what he wanted pretty much from just what he did. So when he glided up the steps and barked at Sally a few more times, doing a couple circles to use up his newfound energy, the message was clear that he wanted her to follow him.
