"She'll left out I think if we don't wait," Lore murmured thoughtfully.

Since he knew that she did seem to like to know things, and knowing what Elnara said would count as one of those things.

Elnara had been about to reply when Lore answered for her. She turned to look at him thoughtfully, then smiled and nodded.

"Yes," she agreed. "Lore's right. Lothiriel ... Seeker seems to be the type of girl who likes to know everything, to be there when the excitement happens. We can wait for her."

"Wait for me for what?" Seeker asked brightly, bouncing (almost literally) into the room. She slipped into the chair next to Lore, putting him between herself and Elnara, and grinned up at them. "Come on, what's everyone waiting for me for?"

Her long, black hair was still wet from her bath, and even braided it went down almost to her knees.

Lex chuckled and pushed out a chair for his wife to take a seat. "Elnara said that she has something to tell us," he told his granddaughter, grinning. "Something important, from the sounds of it."

Seeker's eyes grew wide and excited, and she turned back to Lore and Elnara. "Oooo I love interesting surprises!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "What is it?"

"Well, Elnara is the one going to tell," Lore chuckled.

She was so excitable it was kind of funny and cute now that Lore thought about it.

Elnara felt herself warming under everyone's expectation.

"It's ... not really that huge," she murmured softly, "and really it mostly just concerns Gion and Nadya ..."

Nevertheless, she cleared her throat and said, "Like I told Lex, I have no interest in coming back here, other than for visits, and not just the plantation but Arda in general. Gaia is my home now, and will be for all of my foreseeable future. As such, the plantation means nothing to me except as the place where I spent my childhood and where I collected some of my fondest memories, the one place where my entire family lived happily. And ... because of that ... I don't want to be so irresponsible as to own the plantation from another world, leave others to do all of the work, and get all of the profit from it ... so ..."

She cleared her throat again. "I ... would like to give it to Gion and Nadya ... and if you need an official reason for it, consider it a very ... very late wedding present, to my favourite brother and my best friend."

For a moment, there was a stunned silence, which was broken by Seeker's youthful voice asking, "What does that mean?"

Nadya smiled widely, reaching for her husband's hand and giving it a tight squeeze. "It means," she murmured to her daughter, "that the plantation is now ours."

Her eyes shone with tears of gratefulness as she gazed across the table at Elnara. "Thank you," she said softly.

Gion was smiling just as widely, and he gave his sister the thumbs up.

Lore smiled at the looks on their faces, and the annoucement made sense really. He was just glad for them all to get good news like this. He slipped Elnara's hand into his own for just that moment.

Elnara squeezed Lore's hand softly and smiled up at him. She had never wanted the plantation to begin with. It wasn't as if she needed the gold, and as she had said her home was now in a different world.

"Anyways," she smiled at the others, "why don't we eat?"

Lore nodded, that sounded like a good idea and he let go of her hand. He waited for the others to start before he would, since it was only polite. Dinner went along smoothly, and Elnara's annoucement was the largest event at the time. Conversation was kept to light subjects, that was.. when Lore didn't have his ear chatted off.

He didn't mind really.

The days passed quickly, and all too soon it was time to return to the castle, and then home. It took a while, but eventually Elnara gathered up all six of her children and was waiting with them and Lore in the first room of the labyrinth.

The queen had come down with them to see them off, but all of the children were chattering together excitedly and not paying very much attention. Of course, it was the first real goodbye for any of them, and none of them really realized the seriousness of it, that the next time they saw anyone from here, things would be very different.

Lore helped get all the children together, and was watching them as they chattered about all sorts of things for their trip. It was a good trip, granted the atmosphere was very much improved when they got back to the castle by the fact Ruel had avoided them like the plague.

For once being avoided was a blessing.

Lin was looking towards the end of the hallway waiting to see if Earendil was going to say good bye to them. She didn't know why, perhaps because he was the first person she met while coming here and he always had time for her. Even though he was a grown up now, which.. .kind of made her sad because it meant that someday he would have to do grown up things rather than hang around little girls come another world.

Till then however she was waiting to see if he would come down as well.

Atalya was in the middle of saying good bye to everyone when Earendil ran into the room, panting hard as if he had just run a very long way.

"Hey Lin!" he called, spotting her and running over to her. He knelt in front of her, panting and grinning. "Yata ... I made it. Barely. Here." He cupped his hands between them. "Put your hands in mine ... palm up."

Elnara gave her grandmother a tight hug. "I'll be back," she assured her with a smile. "Don't you worry. I don't know how long it will be here, but I'll be back."

Celebor grinned up at Lore. "Mommy says I can come back someday when I'm big, all by myself, and learn things here! Isn't that neat? I can't wait! 'Cept I'm gonna made sure Uncle Ruel isn't mean 'cos it's not nice when he's mean."

Lin blinked looking at his hands and then looking at him. She placed her tiny hands in his putting them palm up as requested.

"I hope you didn't have to run too far."
