Is it just me or do people not know how to use words anymore? Everyone tries to use a saying and confuses it with another and we all sound stupid.

That is just a theory... Something like that. If you'd said "repress" instead of "regress." People would understand, but it's still wrong.

She asked if they were selling hotcakes. I was so confused, until she tried to clarify. She forgot the 'like', and it completely threw the meaning.
I was ready to tell her we didn't have that sort of thing at our store.
