It's the Homeworld 2 Mod: Warlords v0.56 with EVE Online's User interface overlaid on top of it.
EVE Online had similar graphics and an enormous scale (100s of Players in one Star System with hundreds of Star Systems in the Game) with almost no lag whatsover. sweatdrop A pity they didn't make Galaxies.

Yeah but Eve doesnt let you play around in Star Fighters or Freighters, Hallmarks of the Star Wars Genre.
No Yt-1300's, No X-wings, none of the suff people like.

Actually its newest expansion adds starfighters... You can't play as them but you can build carriers that launch mobs of them. Also, the corvettes you start out with have about the same capabilities as starfighters.
As for freighters... There are tons of them. lol

galaxies it to outdated now despite being crap they should get anouther developer to make a new star wars mmo

and make it free besides what you initially pay for the game. I would play mmo's, but I don't want to pay the subscription fees.

Not to be compared with the extreme beauty of Homeworld, however I've had Empire at War for a while now and the space battles in it can get pretty intense. Especially if you set it all up, then click the cinematic viewer and watch the greatness insue. It's also a pretty good all around strategy game, where unlike most RTSs (I'm looking at you Command and Conquer...) you have to multitask and look over all the planets you control at the moment.
THen again, I'm sure this has all been brought up before, ha.
