The dwarf grumble "Thats not exactly the nicest thing to say to your hosts!" he hiccuped again "We come over here to extend the gesture of Friendship and ye just walk away from us and call us drunks!"

Dargrim walked by the guys harassing them "Hello Seph whats the problem?"
The Dwarves stepped back a bit "L-lieutenant Dargrim...." the lead one stuttered.
Dargrim glared coldly at them "This elf is a guest of the king you should know better than to threaten guests in our realm right?"

"Oh it's you again Dargrim. We were just looking for an inn to stay in" Seph mumbled. They must have some low standards here for him to be a lieutenant She thought.

"Well no doubt I've taught them a lesson" he glanced back as the dwarfs grumbled away he glanced at Seph giving her a look that said You should have known this would happen "Anyway I can't believe you forgot where the inn was lets get going" he set off down the alley.
Above them on the rooftops two denizens of darkness waited "Is that them?"
"Yes we spare the elf girl"
the two figures disappeared

Once they were back at the inn Dargrim took Felina off to the side "Listen I think we got off on the wrong foot here. I ain't a real mercenary, as you heard I'm a lieutenant but that means my first priority is protection of the realm and peace for that matter. I thought you'd respect my request to stay at the inn for the day as a matter of Felina's protection"

Seph glared at Dargrim "Sometimes you soldiers really get on my nerves demanding respect like that. It works both ways. Maybe I would be a bit more polite if you were a higher rank, but if you want us to respect you and your request then pay some respect to us." Seph snapped

"Now listen up Lassie. I've given you no hassle I've even shown Felina respect on my behalf she can accept it YOU can't from the looks of things! Heres the way the public see you, You travel with an elf now in the upper rings of Dwarven society we respect them and the king himself is encouraging friendship and an end to these bitter emnities but on the lower level of the common people they are hated. Therefore you are hated too because you travel with her these dark creatures that attack don't do any help either as the tabloids blame elves for these night attacks! So maybe you'd prevent causing a major riot in town next time and learn some courtesy while your in dwarven territory." he grumbled

Seph laughed "At least I know people hate me. I could tell you things many people dislike about your kind but that would be unfair on all the other dwarves" Seph turned around opening the door to the inn.

Felina just stood there for a second trying to take in what had just happened. She remained silent but gave Dargrim an apologetic look

Oassu appeared in a puff of smoke on the scene carrying a bag.
"Whats the matter with everyone?" he said noting the stony looks on everyone's faces
Dargrim walked to the steps to the rooms "Whether ye don't want ta learn manners or no ye've got no choice when I take you to the King tommorow!" he said before storming upstairs

Seph blankly watched the dwarf storm off shrugging her shoulders before turning her attention to Oassu "Trust you to walk in at the wrong moment. You'll have to show us how you do the whole puff of smoke thing one day." Seph added trying to change the subject.
