Very true, but if you plan on having Kroot, Vespids, or Ethereals in your army, he can not be taken in.
The requirements for Farsight are greater than most others. With power comes a price in most cases.
3nodding You
must have atleast +1 battle suit squad and firewarrior squad. Your army may
not have Kroot, Vespids, or Ethereals in your army at any time. Your battle suit limitations reach about 23 (including broadside battlesuits).
He does give you the preferred enemy special rule when fighting orcs, though. Oh, and also gives your entire army a bonding knife if they have access to the armoury. Good stuff, good stuff...
3nodding STORY TIME!!!
So, yeah... I was in a sort of scout troop game that only allows 400 points maximum. It had a bunch of rules like: No ordanance, no 2+ saves, no more then 2 wounds, no special rules, and no tanks that total greater than 33 armour if you only count one of the sides instead of both.
Anyways, I was on a team with a tyranid playing friend of mine. We agreed to allow him to use a synapse creature, so he put out his brood lord.
3nodding I was with him against Eldar+Orks and Grey knights x2. It was a 2v2v2. The eldar we WASTED by the 3rd turn and the orks had nothing besides one randomly powerful ork that could take out my devilfish. I ran in front of him and shot at him, taking down a little more than half a dozen orks, but then he charged my tank! The tank was useless in close combat, but it didn't matter, he wrapped around and somehow immoblized me with a Str 6 ork that could only glance at maximum.
stare So, yeah... I used my meat shields (Kroot of 10 with no armour saves) to kill that thing before it killed the tank and to kill off the orks. Well, the orks ran and I lost all but 3 kroot.
3nodding My Tyranid fellow had trouble though... He caught the bad end of a Caladice assassin with its stupid polymorphine drug.
rolleyes He lost most of his force... It was a dark day for him.
sweatdrop I killed off both Eldar and the Orks and I finished off one Grey knight army. All that was left was one random grey knight squad captain and the other Grey knights, which lost only 3 guys.
sweatdrop As for Tau, well due to close combat and ballistic casualties, they lost about 1/4 of the force. It was nice to actually put them to good use for once. I still can't believe how well I did!
eek I mean, I annihilated the Orks, took out half of the Eldar, finished off most of the 2nd Grey Knights, and took out a few of the other Grey Knights. I lost in point values, but it was still the best game I have ever played!
eek xd heart
