Mat yeah but thats why I am ramping up my heavy weapons to deal with armie immune to pinning il be laying down heavy fire If I was you, I'd use conscript platoons. Besides the fact it takes a lot of painting, the benefit is there's a whole lot of saves your enemies will have to make.

Mortars are not to be underestimated. Taking a squad of them gives you a nice barrage weapon effect.

Lt. Brookman Mortars are not to be underestimated. Taking a squad of them gives you a nice barrage weapon effect. I'm not underestimating them one bit. Pinning squads is great. Just with the new Chaos Teminator Lord, Lucius, and posessed units coming out, a lot of famkids will play their horribly painted Slaaneshi armies, and with the mark of Slaanesh, pinning won't work.

I'm not that narrow in mind to think that I will be facing just chaos because Lucius finally gets his model, besides it's a preferred style of play. I like mortars because they have their uses.

I like mortars because they have their uses. I'm not narrow minded. I just know how marketing works and why they do it. They'd not do all this stuff if they didn't want people to buy.

Mat "Stuff" ok just a little editing i didnt check points yet but with these new number i still have 4 Heavy Weapons teams not in use You might as well throw close order drill in as your fifth doctrine, it's cheap and has it's uses. I'll do a quick point calculation.

i just thought about my armoured company... drool...
I realised that running two elite exterminators could reduce most infantry units to a smouldering crater in one turn of shooting.

Points are in and the revised list mentioned above is 1.876 pts. Which is 26 pts. over the allowed amount. Shave it or back to the drawing board.

well I could dro p the hellhound freeing up 115 point bringing me down to 1761 that will give me 4 Hvy bolters bringing me up to 1801 then I can buy one more Hvy Weapon and spend the rest on doctrine points

Seeing as you are using the Drop Troops doctrine, it may be a good idea to drop in some walkers as support for the Guardsmen squads. Also, Improved Comms is something of a must with Drop Troops, so bolt that onto the Demolisher.

yes reflecting on Drop Troops the armoured fist doesnt seem to fit right with the rest of the Army. The Leman Russ Tanks can hold their own and if I run into escalation Ill want the Sentinal on the ground at the start to move toward any possible objective. So if I take away the Chimera and attach that squad to first platoon ill save aobut 85 points so if I add the Sentinal it'll readjust the point too.
