*looks a little wounded at the suggestion that she might not have been mature enough to raise her own son* A child? Certainly not! *then, acknowledging that things have probably changed a great deal between their times, adds* 'Tis not at all an uncommon thing in my time, Cora.
*blushes faintly at the mention of natural reproduction, and is noticably glad that Cora doesn't ask her about it further*
Will's father . . . was my husband, Peter.

*turns to Cross in surprise at his noisy entrance* Gracious! *shakes her head at him a bit and sighs, but not unkindly* Hello, Captain Cross.

:::Cora notes the entrance of Captain Cross...she is able to turn from her converstion long enough to acknowledge him:::
G...good day Cross. How is it that you feel? :::Still thinking really hard about Maggie...unable to hold back the curiousity any longer:::
You are already married...whfoo...things really WERE different for humans!

::It clicked to her. Oh! People procreate when they have those feelings for each other...I...think:::
Your partner.... do you...have the feelings for him, like those that Bard explained to me yesterday?

I . . . *a pained expression crosses her face briefly, and she keeps her gaze fixed on her work* . . . No . . . . not of the sort that Bard was telling ye about.

:::Cora frowned:::
So...procreation in your world is without those feelings...the same way it is without in my world.
:::She saw a wine bottle moving by Cross' hand out of the corner of her eye:::

*her expression softens at Cross's words, and she smiles* Aye, my Will's a fine lad, indeed. I'm blessed te have him.
*looks back to Cora, her brow furrowing in thought* I dinna know that 'tis quite the same . . . though perhaps it is, somewhat. *takes a moment, unsure of the words she wants to use* Peter was . . . a very kind and good man, and . . . well, I . .. perhaps, if we'd had more time . . . *shakes her head, as though she could shake the thought off with it* But there's no point in dwelling on such things.

More time...? He is no longer your husba- :::Cora cut herself short, seeing the displeased look on Maggie's face. It was surely a sensitive subject:::
Forgive me, I was being pervasive of your personal information.
:::Cora looked up to see Bard, she smiled, and welcomed him:::

*very quietly* He died. Several years ago.
*looks up at the sound of Bard's voice, glad both for the distraction, and to see him* Good day te ye, Bard. Have ye been well in yer time away?

:::Cora heard Maggie say that her husband had died...but didn't know how to react to it...other to just lend her sympathy:::
I am truly sorry for the loss of your spouse. It must be hard raising a child by yourself :::thinks back to her own rearing:::
