As if by instinct, she whipped Demi in the shins with her tail when he poked at her midsection. whoops. When the hound revived and took some dancey steps around the table, she couldn't help but snicker. Rex- yer a hoot. She shook her head again but with an amused smile on her face. Never a dull moment with the pup.
Reckoned ya might be tha type ta raid tha kitchen 's all... The tatzel placed hands on her hips during her response to the hound's remark about the food. Nah, better git outta this dress. Feelin' an urge ta bounce 'round again.
She put a hand to her crown after Demi's playful poking of it and carefully nudged it back into a safe perch. The tatzel still wasn't sure if it was hers to keep- so handling it with care was a good idea. Dun have too much fun with yer pal, Rex. Ya'll gonna be tired fer tamorrah. She slapped the hound on the shoulder before turning and starting to walk away.

Oops, perhaps she shouldn't have spoken, feeling just a little guilty now for having thrown off her concentration. She didn't fault him for it though, making mention of the misstep by word or expression, and merely subdued her own movement until he'd regained his beat. She was courteous partner, not a selfish one.
She'd have left it alone, remaining quiet throughout the remainder of the dance, but once he'd gotten them back on track he'd spoken. Self doubting words making her frown softly. Even as he moved on to compliment her. "Thank you," she added softly, searching his face. he might not have been looking at her, but she'd been watching him.
Did he really not consider himself talented? "Really though, you're quite good." The inside of her cheek was received a nibble or two in thought before she went on. "There aren't that many people within our age group that bother with lessons or dancing, so you're a cut above the lot of them." Obviously she and her boilfriend were the exception, both taking dancing rather seriously, willingly or otherwise.
"The magic you do is very impressive as well, you know." She'd made him frown again, and she was sorry for it. So her effort was now going towards making it fade, if not perhaps even making him smile.

Damien, knew the prom was pretty much done, but he didn't expect everyone to go rushing out of the room like it was the plauge. It was like somebody must have silently screamed the word fire that everyone but him must have heard.
He gave the Punk boil Roch a wave as he stepped out to clear his head from whatever put him in that bad mood. Roch had a temper, who knew? The hound didn't expect that, that's for sure. as he stuffed his hands back into his pockets before turning back around to Levi fixing her little tiara. he was still sure she cheated to get it, he'd have to go recount those ballots later and make sure.
And then he was left alone after the tatzel said her goodbyes, which always sounded like danger for him in the future whenever they would meet again. " Yeah, later Lev." he muttered back and watched her leave in case she tried any last minute funny business.
he's got his eye on you, probably had her trusty frying pan under that dress, he reckoned. Be that as it may, he went around to pick up his coat and waited around to see if Roch would come back, like a good little hound that was told to stay.
At least until he got bored of it and made his way back home, Roch would get over his desertion, he had a sore tummy to fall back on and when he got back to his dorm, he planned to fall back on something all right.
His cushy bed.

At her insistence, Johan glanced at her face, and disturbed by her study, looked away again. The lightly glowing eyes seemed to see far too much.
"Danke schoen." came the simple reply. He wouldn't argue the point. The dance lessons he'd received from his Grandmother had been more of a way to condition his body to the encroaching crystal than something done for pleasure. But he'd always found a treasured moment of freedom in concentrating on the movement of his limbs instead of the curse. He could move, yes. Could his Father? Or any of his ancestors?
"Talent ist nicht genug." Johan said softly, before remembering himself. Now was not the time to wax maudlin about his family curse. Another glance at Haddiya's face was enough to confirm her concern. Johan did his best to smooth the frown from his face. Concentrate on the steps! He sent Haddiya into another twirl.

The dancing slowly got a bit more enjoyable, at least from West's point of view, but it was no less stilted. Unlike Holly, the demon looked down at the fox ghoul when she spoke. "Mmm hmm," he replied. Now that there was no one here to anger him and his awkwardness had faded to manageable levels, he found himself once again feeling those feelings that had pushed him to ask her to come here with him in the first place. He felt a grimace coming on and forced it into a slightly pained grin. Even though he had acted on them, those feelings were very unwelcome.
"Sorry it wasn't as funnas I said." He pulled away, holding them as far apart as they had been the last time they had danced. West kept them like that for a moment as he looked at her, then dropped his hands as well. "I should go."

"It is being very nice to meet you, Merel." Tsetsiliya smiled at the small mouse, who looked so timid now that she had been thrust into the limelight. It was then that she noticed the state of Joachim's hands, and the smell of punch that was ever present around the two newer additions to the group. What an unfortunate mishap on such an otherwise lovely night! She hoped it didn't spoil too much for the two, but perhaps it was best not to distract for long. The music was waning after all, and the room was emptying - some heading back to the dorms, others heading into the adjacent area to cash in their game chips. Tsetsiliya was not much of a gambler, so none of the games had appealed to her (but Jack knew if her grandmother was here, the old poludnica would not have left the tables for a minute).
"But it is seeming the night is winding down.." She clutched at the front ruffles of her dress and a small sigh escaped her lips. Over already, and so fast too. Her eyes traveled to Colette first, then to Petro. "Shall we be having more dancing.. ?" She let the words trail off a little; she did not want to steer the decision to leave or stay, but lingering at a party that was emptying quickly was in bad taste - at least that's what her mother said, coming from her vast bank of socialite wisdom. But her dates' wants and desires were the forefront of her decision making tonight.

The night seemed to be wearing down, and with his date off dancing with their little dealer from the game room the hungry ghost had taken a seat at the slowly emptying table. It was fun watching the prom court dancing, the craziness kicking up again as everyone seemed to catch their second wind, but it didn't last half as long this time. He watched as a few more couples trickled out the door before getting back to his feet to make his way onto the dance floor and over towards Junko. Resting his hands softly on her shoulders from behind as she swayed with the cthulu in her arms. "Enjoying yourself, babe?" He gave her a kiss on the cheek, letting his arms slide down around her shoulders, hugging her back against him. "Things seem to be slowing down," he commented idly, swaying all three of them. "What do you think, J? Should we call it a night?" He'd stay of course, if she wanted to, but he didn't want her to feel they had to linger if she didn't want to.

Junko did notice things were winding down. People were leaving, and things were getting quiet..ish. Quietish. Not completely so, but enough that it was clear the night was ending. She may have been delaying the inevitable by not wanting to admit the night was over. Ending prom only meant one thing.
Cleaning up prom.
It wasn't that Junko hated cleaning. Of course not. She loved it, actually! She loved to do chores and housework, it was what she was used to doing. It had become an enjoyable experience for her over the years. But she was not looking forward to cleaning up this auditorium. Not at all. But it would have to be done eventually. She'd have to go find Nuk later...she had to have a very serious talk with him about that roulette wheel. She already had her arguments ready if he dare deny her this chance.
Suddenly there was a weight on her shoulders and she looked up, still holding Cam in her arms. Huh? Oh! "Mhm!" Junko smiled, tilting her head into the kiss against her cheek with a tiny giggle. She was tired, for sure. But the problem was while she was tired she still had that...buzzing excitement. She couldn't sleep. She couldn't possibly just sit still. She was tired, but not tired. Did that make sense? It did to her. But then Seiji mentioned the status of the event and she sighed, pouting a little and turning her gaze down to Cam. So cuuuuuute.
"I guess we could go. I'm not very tired though." She slipped free from Seiji's arms to gently place Cam on the floor, patting his head. "You go back to Riley now, okay? I think she got brought back to her room? Maybe. You're very lucky, Cam. I was this close to punting you across the auditorium." Junko told him with a shake of her finger before she stood up, leaning back against Seiji. "We could go for a walk or something. Like I said, I'm not very tired."
"Ignore her. She's exhausted." She finally piped up, the first thing She had said all night.
No, wait. She'd laughed really hard at Junko diving under that table. Nevermind. But that didn't technically count. Laughing wasn't talking! Junko pouted back toward Her before sighing and looking up at Seiji. Who was he going to believe? Junko or Her?

To tell the truth, the dancing was a lot better than Scarentines had been. Especially since she hadn't been forced to out of fear of a certain mindflayer. The longer the dancing went on though, the more aware she was of where his hands were. Yes it was part of slow dancing but why there? She looked back up when they finally parted from the dancing.
"It was still fun." For the most part, among other things but still fun. Holly's arms had returned to her side already. Go? True, it was getting late. "Ya, I was thinking of heading out soon, things to do..." Well that wasn't completely true but she wasn't going to say she had nothing to do. "See you later?" Later, later or really during school later.

He let her go so she could set the little dealer back on the ground, watching him as he looked up at the both of them before settling his attention on Junko as she gave her warning. "Bit of handful, that one?" He asked to the ghoul as the tentacled beastling ran off. Happily settling his arms back around her for a few last sways with the lingering music. Humming softly as she suggested a walk. Smirking faintly as She spoke up.
If she really wanted to go he'd go, but he had a hard time believing she was as awake as she thought she was. "If you want. Are we bunking together tonight?" It was an idle question, purely curious and lacking any expectation. She was still shaken from their last Sex Ed class, and he wasn't going to push her. "We should probably stop and pick up night clothes for the one bunking over at the others place if so." He started steering them towards the door. Walking so his feet carefully avoided the short train of her dress.
"Just to get things situated," he pointed out reasonably. "If we do go for a walk I doubt we'll wanna pick anything up after." He paused, leaning as he walked to press the coolness of his cheek against her temple. "If you wanted to do that, I mean. We don't have to if you don't want to."

"Yes. Remind me to wash these stockings at least five times and to scrub my leg for a few hours, too..." Junko actually sounded completely serious. She was. As he asked what they were doing about sleeping arrangements she hummed, tilting her head a little. She did like cuddling...they could snuggle up and sleep, right? They wouldn't get...FEARdiseases from that, right? If they didn't do anything? She didn't want to get anything. She just wanted to enjoy his company. She liked being held by him, loved it even. Was there anything wrong with just doing that? She really hoped not. Junko didn't put up any fight at all as she was turned and moved toward the door out of the auditorium, though she was very wary of his feet near her dress. It was bad enough he'd cut that small hole in the hem even if he had been trying to help, she would be devastated if he tore the train of her dress.
Hmmm..did she really want to go for a walk? Definitely not in this dress. She was worried it'd tear on something. "Alright. Um...then let's go get some overnight stuff from my room then and drop it off at yours?" Junko suggested with a smile, moving her head to nuzzle against his cool cheek. It felt very nice after a night of excitement.

West knew he was expected to walk Holly back to her dorm or at least off of the dance floor and out of the prom, but he was fairly certain she didn't actually know that. He was glad that she had managed to have a good time, but being glad made him mad all over again. "'M glad," he said anyway. His eyes closed for a bit longer than a blink and he sighed. "Later. Yeah. I'll see y'later."
He watched, seemingly helpless to stop his hand from reaching out and touching the back of her arm, right above her elbow. Down, down, down he leaned, and when his face was level with hers, he turned and brushed a kiss to her cheek, straightening again as if he had been bitten by an invisible skitter. s**t. West didn't say anything more as he turned and fled from the room, only barely managing not to break into a run.

He wasn't sure what she was talking about but he nodded anyways, cheek rubbing against the soft skin at the edge of her brow. "Of course." Considering the nature of the request, he wasn't sure he wanted to know. Loosening his arms, he stepped back from her so he could move up to her side, narrowly avoiding bumping into Westus as he rushed past. Brows arching upward curiously before he shook his head and looked back down at his ghoulfriend, offering his arm.
"Alright then." He had a sinking suspicion that by the time they gathered stuff up to be dropped off elsewhere the whole of the evening would be upon them and the walk would be canceled, but he didn't voice this theory. If by some miracle they were still buzzing with energy after all was said and done they could go for their walk. Beneath the hazy clouds and stars that hung above them it would be beautiful.
Making it to the door, the jikininki stepped forward to push it open, standing back so Junko could walk through before taking his place at her side once again. Cool, human fingers sliding between her own warmer ones. Drawing that hand up to his lips so he could lay a kiss on the back of it.
Prom had been amazing.

Ren, who had spent the better part of the evening dancing with not just Gabrian, but LW and Alessa as well, was feeling very content with how the evening had turned out. For him personally it had been a rather low key and quiet night, spent with the three people who he cherished the most. It hadn't been about the glitz or the glamour; he'd preferred to spend his time with his best friends rather than try and make prom king or queen. Not that it was a bad thing, and the people who had been crowned had very much deserved their titles, but Ren was perfectly satisfied with his own personal goals.
"You know," he said, as he and Gabrian walked back to the dorms, after having dropped the ghouls off at Alessa's place for the rest of the night. "I do believe we had a very nice evening together, wouldn't you say?"
If there was anyone with whom he would have wanted to spend time with, it was the demon. Lately Ren had been feeling slightly out of sorts with Gabrian; they had not hung out nearly as much as they had before the island and their exams and now prom, so right now he was feeling a bit more clingy than usual, especially after having broken up with Alessa.
Ren looped his arm sleepily through Gabrian's, resting his head against the demon's shoulder as he raised his free hand to cover his mouth and the yawn that had escaped. When they reached Gabrian's room he was just going to crash in the nix's bed and sleep til noon the next day, if he could. It wasn't like Gabrian even used his bed anyway; the demon tended to sleep in his fish tank, after all.
"By the way," Ren said, as they stepped into the dorms. "You still owe me a dance, mister."

Holly grinned slightly. The night had been fine, could have gone terribly bad but she wasn't sure if anything could have made it better. Really she had no idea how prom was suppose to be, so it was all good to her. She had been about to turn and go get one last bite of dessert (it was good!). It wasn't far from the truth at all to say she'd been caught of guard by West's action.
"Uh..." Did ... did he just. Her mind couldn't even finish that thought. Holly watched the boil almost make a break for the door. Her hand went up to her check, she was pretty sure her mouth was slightly hanging open from surprise. The ghoul wasn't sure what to think at all now and the thought of dessert was gone from her mind. She waited a few moments before leaving herself, hand still on cheek.
