Ver - Freya

Ver sighed. He stared at the wall opposite the door from his curled up spot on the hospital bed in exhausted silence. His mind was still a bit blurry; having woke up only some time ago. He must’ve been drugged as hell.
He raised a paw to hesitantly touch his bandaged eye, and then slowly moved his paw toward the left side of his forehead after a few seconds, tracing the bandage in attempt to figure out how it’d been tied about. Twitching his nose hurt. It was a sharp pain that pierced back to his eye, as if originating there. The right side of his face had been scarred up pretty bad, but the bandage covered everything aside from a lone scratch that ran across the bridge of his nose. The other end of it was hidden under the bandage.
Of course, it was to be expected when a rampaging beast over 4 feet taller than you runs over you. It could have been worse, so honestly, he was thankful he got off with just this.

The door opened then and the Flareon’s ears twitched. He promptly rolled over to face to door to see Freya had come to visit after all. It seemed she was alone. The Leafeon smiled, though she looked rather concerned as she approached and gracefully hopped onto a chair despite her large species. “How are you feeling? You’re a wreck.” She chuckled, looking Ver over. He merely smiled. “It’s bad, isn’t it? I hope I’m not down for long.” The Fire type hardly seemed worried. “They said I might have temporary blindness.” “So you’ll maybe see again?” “Temporary blindness, or blindness.” “…I see.” Freya frowned. “How’s the depth perception?” Now Ver frowned. He hasn’t moved yet. He raised a paw and waved it in front of his face. It didn’t do much of anything for him, that he could tell, at least. “I…I don’t know. I guess I’ll adjust to it. I’ll be grazing doorways and running into people.” Ver sighed again. Great.
“I’m sure you’ll adjust. It might just take time.”
“Hey Freya,”
The Leafeon blinked, her head turning up from her paws to look at Ver.
“You seemed so nervous. Are you sure you wanna stay?” Freya gave a nervous laugh at his question. She was nervous. “Yeah, yeah, it’ll be fine. I’m… just not used to dealing with possessed Legendaries.” “I fear it’ll be worse than that though.” Freya’s head tilted and Ver’s mind began to travel back toward the day that Eevee and his gang attacked them. Everything happened to quickly and a few died. Would it happen again? Freya wasn’t a bad fighter—she was smart too. She just might get herself hurt if she freezes up.
“Don’t worry about me. I’ll adjust.” She went at that other Leafeon without a problem that time ago, but after what she did to Deca… She was infuriated. “When do you think you’ll be out?” Ver shrugged. “No idea. I feel fine… lying down, that is. I imagine the moment I start walking, it’ll be hell.” A passively severe headache beat in the back of his skull. He knew it’d hit him if he started moving around. “I’ll get out as soon as I can.” And, hope his vision comes back. Freya nodded. “Alright. That sounds good. I’m going to head back to the room. Deca’s pretty out of it…” “Still?” Ver growled quietly. “I told her she shouldn’t have gone. How’s Sai?” Freya smiled. “She’s Sai, of course.” He frowned. Yeah, of course… How else would it be? “It’s cool. I’ll see you soon then—I’m going to sleep a bit.”
Freya nodded as the Flareon rolled back over. She hopped off the chair and left silently.

Lloyd

Lloyd threw his arms up into the air with a groan of dismay.
"Oh, come on! I don't need your bullshit now, Scyther! I'm busy as it is!"
Solaris had personally perstered Vito with complaints until the older Weavile had been forced to bump Lloyd back down to scrub work PERMEANANTLY. Which meant he wasn't allowed to do anything with a patient without another doctor/nurse present and the lack of freedom pissed him off.
Folding his arms the orange ice-type glared at Tolin before realizing it would be quicker to humor him than throw a fit and motioned to a nearby hospital room that was devoid of patients or nurses.
It has just been cleaned and the smell of bleach made Lloyd sneeze suddenly upon stepping in, but he voiced no other comments until after closing the door behind the Scyther and successfully blocking out the hallway and any would-be eavesdroppers.
"Alright, dammit. Make whatever it is quick." He did not hide his dislike of Tolin, and as he cracked his knuckles and shifted uncomfortably in silence a few idle thoughts passed him by as he waited.
First of all, he figured the Scyther was here to pester about fixing the Gardevoir brat as well as annoy Lloyd over his ex-Elite status once again.
"Before you start, I'm still on your side. If this is about me being some kind of 'mole' or whatever then you're sorely mistaken."
He'd be damned if he had to confront more bullshit accusations just because someone had trust issues.
Granted, Lloyd was not the nicest of Pokemon, but he thought he made it clear which side he stood on already.

Tolin

"I don't believe you're a spy. At least not at the moment. If I did I probably would have killed you by now."
Lloyd didn't really seem keen to contribute on the "front lines", so there wasn't really much to risk in his death besides appearances.
"But, no. It's Alfred, of course. Has there been any progress?"
This, of course, was the simple part.
Lloyd wouldn't like what was to come next.

Lloyd

Lloyd seemed to be relieved that the Scyther wasn't going to go off on a tirade of 'You're an Elite and bad and blah blah blah'. The relief was met with annoyance at the mention of Alfred's name. It wasn't like he had to deal with the guy anymore aside the occasional check-up for hospital records. Nova pretty much had everything else covered.
The Weavile gave a slight shrug, rolling his eyes as he began to the stereotypical explaination.
Honestly, he didn't have to but he'd prefer Tolin not pester Vito now. The older Weavile was very busy as of late.
"Physically he's much better. Lung healed on it's own, the Elixir worked it's way out of his system so he's stable. Might have a cough for a good while, but that'll fade too I believe. Took him off the IVs aside from a few for antibiotics.
Mentally he's actually getting worst. Before it was some moments of lucidity but lately he's been zoning out and generally just losing all cognitive senses. What's happening is his mind is trying to rewire itself around the missing gaps, it'll be permeneant damage and gradually get worse the longer we wait to deal with this 'soul seperation' business..."

Lloyd folded his arms, an almost cynical smile on his face. "But that's not my problem..."
He'd been bumped back to scrub work, he had no clearance to make medical statements and had decided to just ignore the situation as best he could.

Tolin

"Oh, no, I'm afraid it's quite your problem Lloyd."
It was good to hear that he was physically fine, at least. But not entirely "fine".
"I came here as a courtesy, because I wasn't sure. It seems like I was right. You're aware that I intend to return Arceus's power to him, correct? Every last scrap of it, and that does make it your problem. Because without that pendant, your blood should start killing you just as fast as Alfred's is killing him."
The elite were born of Arceus and they were sustained by his power.
Without the pendants, he would either perish or he would become much as Orion was.
Either way, it didn't bode well for the Weavile.

If Lloyd had been drinking anything Tolin would have a face full of said drink the second the Weavile realized what he was being told.
Oh, hell no. That didn't fly for Lloyd.
He didn't know the Scyther had planned on taking his Relic. Well, he'd find it hard to get away from the Ice Type but just in case...some contingency plans had to be made.
"You'll get this relic when I'm dead and no sooner, bug." He hissed angrily, flexing his claws threatningly at Tolin.

Tolin

Tolin simply blinked and stared blankly at the obvious threat.
"No, Lloyd. I will take it. I don't intend to risk everything for your sanity."
Tolin's voice was flat. There wasn't any point in dancing around the issue.
"If I have to take it off of your corpse, that can be arranged. Of course, now that I've told you this you could run away... but Eridanus would probably kill you. Even if he didn't, he'd force you to fight for him. So... you can try to make a cure. If you can't, then I'll find one... I intend to cure Alfred, after all."
Lloyd really didn't have a way out. He had a choice; come up with one himself or eventually have the pendant taken by force.
"I'm saying this now so you have time."

The Weavile replied with a hiss, but was quickly deciding his options even as he rebeled against the Scyther's words.
"I'm going to figure out a way to stop it and then save my own hide. You're on your own for the little b*****d."
He flashed his teeth into what would be a charming smile, but Tolin knew better of course.
With that he made his way for the door.

"You're free to save yourself."
That was, of course, why he had talked to the Weavile in the first place.
"But if you withhold a cure that we can use on Alfred... I will kill you."
A doctor that refused to save a life when he had the chance was better off dead.
"Don't forget that Lloyd. I'm not someone to be trifled with."
It was one thing if the cure couldn't be replicated. If it required something... fully unique.
But if the cure could be made again, or that possibility was there and the Weavile refused to explore it...?
Tolin would gut him on the spot. Maybe they'd be able to find out what it was by examining his corpse.
Either way, the Scyther disappeared with the obvious crack of a teleport.

Alfred---Lloyd

Shouts arose like a chorus across the hospital, the halls were alive with movement as nurses dashed back and forth in a frenzy.
The guilds were under attack, they were prepping for the worse as well as attending to a certain orange Weavile and his fury.
"PEN! PAPER! RIGHT ******** NOW!"
A single white claw extended into a point at the Blissey trying to place the oxygen mask over his face. They wanted to put him under? No. No, not now. He wouldn't wake up. He was dead, his body just hadn't admitted to it yet.
If he went to sleep, he wouldn't get to say goodbye...
"GET ME MY BRIEFCASE AND A BOX!" He had a package to send out, as well as a letter to write.
"AND VITO! GET ME VITO NOW!"
Arceus be damned if these nurses didn't listen to him. He'd take some of them with him.

Alfred lifted his head slowly from the fold of his arms, the benches in the hall of the hospital were not the most comfortable, but he had no intention of sleeping anyways as it were.
The Gardevoir watched the nurses rushing around, he'd heard Lloyd shouting and hoped the Weavile was alright. The guilt was overwhelming, if only he'd opened the door when he'd been told to...then maybe, well...he didn't know how it would have changed anything, but you never knew.
In an almost comatose state he lowered his head back to his folded arms, knees pulled up to his chest.
He wasn't sure where Huey had gone, but for the time he was stuck her anyways.
He didn't really want to go back to the room with that Mew there...
He should be a lot more horrified, but after the initial shock it was an amost numb sense of belief that replaced any other feelings.

Vito

"LLOYD! ENOUGH!"
The raspy, strained voice shouted somehow louder than the suffering Weavile's.
Already standing in the doorway, with his arms crossed, was Vito.
It wasn't in a normal stance he had his arms cross, though.
They were crossed across his chest, and he was squeezing at the sides of his arms.
"You're not allowed to die, so don't think for a moment that I'm going to let you throw your life away because you're too out of it to realize you need to be asleep for surgery..."
Locked between one of his claws and the fur of his arm was a syringe.

Alfred---Lloyd

Lloyd hissed, flashing his teeth in his fury. "No, Arc'dammit! I don't need surgery! I'm dead, I'm ******** dead! This can't be fixed!" His claws went to his chest were he proceeded to shred the bandages there in a frenzy, tattered white pieces littering the bedspread.
The Weavile stopped short of removing it entirely, his hands lingering over the stained layer that was the only thing keeping him from bleeding out immediately. It was only sheer will keeping him going now.
"Don't drug me, I just wanted to talk to you one last time." Lloyd was not an emotional Pokemon. Aside from anger and annoyance he rarely showed anything, but in seconds the usually stern and furious Ice type had dissolved into tears.

What was this? The screaming had stopped and now he heard sobbing. Okay, that was enough. Alfred couldn't take this anymore. He was out of here regardless if anyone knew it or not. He'd find someplace peaceful to rest at on his own.
The Gardevoir stood and swiftly made his way out the hospital with an unsteady stride.

Vito

The worn old Weavile bit his lip, starting to take a few steps forward.
He staggered a bit with each step, he hadn't brought his cane.
He held he claws out to grasp nearby objects for support as he approached Lloyd.
"No... Th-This hospital needs you..." He muttered before lifting the claw that held the syringe.
With a swing, he brought the needle down into his own thigh, pressing down on the plunger.
"B-Because..." He threw the empty syringe to the side, making it to the bed and sinking his claws down into the side of it.
"I need... you... to watch over everyone... when I'm g-gone..."
The old Weavile then began to break out into a violent coughing fit, a few dots of blood sprinkling the fabric of the bed he was leaning over.

"Stupid b*****d." The orange Weavile replied, extending an arm to link his claws with the old s**t.
The hospital would be fine without them. Lucy was more than capable enough to deal with it all, Vito was just making excuses and giving himself a reason to suicide like a ********. The only downside to this would be the resulting shock for whatever poor nurse wandered into the room after they were both dead.
Using his free hand he shoved the box he'd been shoving things into to the side. It'd be dealt with later...he'd made sure of it. Whoever came in here next would find it with the letter taped to the top and have it delivered.
Relieved everything would be fine, content now that Vito was there, Lloyd closed his eyes for the last time.

Vito

Tears were streaming down Vito's cheeks as he squeezed Lloyd's claw.
The frail old Weavile gently climbed into the bed, pressing his forehead against the other's.
"Thank you..." He whispered softly.
"... F-For not letting me go alone..."
With that, Vito closed his eyes and the clutch on Lloyd's claw faded.
Thus, the life of two cranky old ******** ended in each others arms.
