He closed his fingers, letting them rest in between hers. "My life is so busy that it strains my sanity to the breaking point. Listening to that, just makes it seem like its a distant memory."

He looked at her with his green eyes. "Well I am half Vampire, though I don't need blood to survive. I was adopted into a royal family when I was just a baby, and grew up in a castle. I left there and came here about a year ago. I got a job here, when this was a human only society. I changed it through shear will and became its leader." He looked to her. "Not what you would expect huh?"

She looked away, hiding her surprise. "No. It was exactly what I expected." Alice sighed, resting her head lazily on his shoulder. "Shame its such a stressful life. You don't appear stressed though."

"No, I don't think I can say that I have ever heard of that." He turned so his forehead was on her head, so he could whisper into her ear. "But that makes you even more special." he squeezed her hand tightly.
