Xen seemed somewhat indifferent throughout Raine's speech, but in truth he was suppressing a smooth grin. "While it's true I've never been outside on a ninja mission..." he looked at Raine with a dull honesty in his expression "I don't know what kind of perceptions you have about me Raine, but if you think I haven't tasted desperate your wrong, if you think I haven't been cold and alone and starving in the wilderness, I've been there."
He smiled "But you see Raine, you and I are very different... having others rely on me? It would make no difference." he adjusted his Glasses, Kimiko looking between them slightly worried. "I'm a crude, selfish and heartless little individual, and I've actually killed someone I didn't have to kill... merely for the sake of not having to deal with them later." Kimiko looked suddenly rather alarmed. "Momoe-san would you help me with this branch?"
Kimiko was surprised as Maboroshi had grabbed a branch, still talking the whole while. She blinked and did so, watching him a little...unsettled. She knew this was what Maboroshi was like... but...she really sometimes just...felt sorry for him... "Sure Maboroshi...do you have any spring? I think if we-" She tried to act like she couldn't hear their words to one another... she kind of felt like a third wheel right now.
Xenon and Kimiko took a few moments, talking between themselves on how to make in appropriate tool to undo the trap. Removing a spring from on of his many pockets, Xenon and the girl went to work, and he continued his discussion calmly "As for self sacrifice, we'll have to agree to disagree... I find it a disgusting practice."
Kimiko blinked, looking up from her work the branch, and small wood widdling knife in her hand, removed from her hip pouch. 'Maboroshi's Mother... I knew that it bothered him...!' she didn't say anything though. They were working rather quickly. Kimiko was actually rather skilled at fiddling with things like this, though she never really made use to the talent, it was just something she'd always been good at... with two of them working together, they'd be done shortly... Still she cast her eyes between the two boys.

(Dude one step at a time XD, you can't combine the training it takes, you can only combine rolls to beat the dc. We are actually supposed to be getting exp for this)
Bones cracking, his knuckles popping as Raine stressed his fists. This was sick! What kind of person could actually say these things, and be so cruel intentionally. His gaze became stern and cold, who was he not to believe in sacrifice? It was the small boy's nindo that drove him to work so hard, endlessly trying no matter how many times he failed, no matter how strong his foe.
As Xen went on about killing someone, for no good reason. There was no way it could be true, not for an instant did he accept this for reality. His fist slid back toward his pocket where the honored blades of the Tekkenseisai were sheltered from sight, he had taken Xen on before, how hard would it be to throw him around a bit. But that would be suicide for his ninja career attacking a team-mate, never. Raine took a deep breath. "Yeah, we'll agree to disagree...." He pulled his hands up to cross over his chest. "So that thing there, you're making Kimiko, that's a good idea. I'll help you out with yours if you need it." He figured with both of them working it would be more than enough effort to make a device. "I'll search for another flag."

Xenon continued to work as Raine left, "Very well, we'll work on this one then, it shouldn't take long." his voice was still calm and apparently completely at ease. As he began to construct the final points of the trap disengage, taking Kimiko's half as he started to assemble the two, Kimiko was staring at him.
"Maboroshi...why did you have to provoke him like that?" she was looking at him somewhat angrily. "We're supposed to be a team you know..."
Xenon continued at his work. "He was being arrogant... I merely was being honest in return."
Kimiko looked a little fed up with him. "What!? What are you talking about! He was just-"
"He was applying his own limited ideals of what strength was to me, so certain that what he's gone through was the paragon of suffering." he looked at Kimiko with an almost bored face "Even now he thinks himself better than I because of my way of doing things, he thinks of himself as noble, and cannot imagine values beyond his own." he looked back to his work. "I don't blame him for it of course, it's seems to be part of his strength, utter dedication to his beliefs and his ideals. I actually admire him for it..."
Kimiko sat down across from her rival, looking at him almost confused now "Then...why not just say that?"
Xenon looked at her pleasantly "Well, while I do respect other people who follow their convictions, I'm also childish a times, why humor him if he's going to be so rude about it?"
Kimiko sighed "You're just being a jerk...you know that though right?"
"Well of course."
She gave a long sigh as Maboroshi used their device to disarm the trap. "You're...totally hopeless."
"At last we agree." he concurred with a grin, removing the flag from it's place of rest.
The girl slowly got to her feet. "Maboroshi... I still see that good person inside you somewhere, and I KNOW that I can save you."
Xenon looked a little annoyed "What happened to being hopeless? Can't we return to that mindset?"
Kimiko pointed at him, her eyes on fire with pure hero's spirit! "No! You're a good person! And I'm going to help you realize so you stop antagonizing people!"
Xen's expression, for the breifest of moments, broke.
"You're a good boy, and you'll realize it before the end... goodbye, My Xen."
He returned to his usaul look, the lapse no more than a few seconds, but now his expression looked more...serious. "Will you now..."
Kimiko was nodding vigorously "You bet! It's Hero's Promise! So you can't escape!" she smiled at him confidently. "So now we can go find Raine and you can say that you're sorry okay?"
Xenon blinked looking a little exasperated "But I'm not-"
She grabbed his jacket attempting to drag him "No arguments! We're a team so you guys need to hug and make up."
"Momoe-san, while it absolutely wounds me to rain on your parade," he informed, his voice laden with sarcasm, "I'm not a very huggy person. Now please let go of my-" The two continued in this manner as they started their search for their teammate...

((One flag acquired Cheer, I don't know if you want to make it so secretly Raine heard all that or if he went off to get his own flag. By the way, I'm liking how this team is going, but the problem is that Xen won't grow if it keeps up...
confused Still, that's what his master to be is for! Just remember that Xen's weakness is that while he claims, and wants, to be selfish, the only real reason he wants to be strong is that so he can protect the things (and, while he'd NEVER admit this even to himself, people) he cares about without having to die. That's why he hates the idea of sacrifice, he sees it as an act of weakness.
Xen and Raine should talk that out sometime. ))

it seemed like the sleeping effects still hold tight to Kurina,she couldnt raise her chakra,she still felt tired and sleepy,she was hardly opening her eyes,it was indeed taking to much time, but she was too close to let it be, she must finish her training.

couldnt do it again, so Kurina rose up from her seat,sitting for a long time on that rock,made her sleepy and tired,her back was hurting her a little bit,she looked around her,she spoted several people,as a girl was dragging a boy from his jacket,it was rather a funny sight to watch,she giggled a little bit,this made her wake up a bit,and feel somehow energitic.so she focused again,and started her training again.

it was working,she felt her controle over her ckara levels, she stretched and flipped over the rock,as she landed she felt better and awaken,she was ready to do this over and over till she finished the exercise,she mustnt waste her time on this much more.

as she finally had her strength and focuse back,Kurina decided to jump over the trees again,while doing her ckara exercise,since she finished her
Dexterity training,she knew it would be easy for her to jump over places,it seemed a good way to ptactice,both her chakra and strangth.

but again,she felt it is too early to do two things together,maybe each one at a time would be better, so Kurina thought it would be easier to walk through the forest than just jumping around, a good way to relax and have better control over the chakra,so she started walking slowly,focusing on he chakra,and moving through the bushes and watching the flowers around her,it was so peaceful,and nice to watch.

watching such a beautiful sight,was indeed the right choice to do, as the air and smell of lilacs was swerling around in the air,it filled it with it, it was so relaxing kurina could stay here for a long time,maybe this way she could finish off early,as doing so helped her controle her ckara levels and feel better.so she kept doing it hoping to succed.

but of course, anything could disturb the flow of shakra,cause the smell was strong enough to leave her a bit dizzy and not in control, too much breath of that was too much to take, so she changed her location and walked over into another spot,hoping t wont be disturbing like this one.

Kurina didnt like what was going on,she wasnt doing well, this smell and all of this was disturbing her,and she got angry and irritated,so she gave a dirty look and headed back to her spot, where the huge rock remained still,at least your not casuing any trouble...she thought in her mind,sarcasticly,as she thought of the flowers heavy scent. this was a better place to practice .

Kurina felt annoyed and angry,this took longer than expected,her previous trainings didnt take this long, and she shouldnt make it a habit, taking a long time,so she layed her back on the rock and held her head up,watching the sky and birds flying,each being had its own purpous in life,she thought about hers for a little bit before doing anything eles,this was serious as she had to be ready for the future,so she took a deep breath and moved on.

Kurina was soo close into finishing this, training,she had to do it one more time and she will be over with it,she couldnt wait till she is over,but still at the same time,excited about it too, as she sure would be stonger,she was happy so she focused more hoping she wont fail on her last time,but even if she did,she would still do it over and over till its done.
and she did it,she finished it feeling hyper and excited,so she walked out from the ground with a wide grin on her face.

(Yeah XD they'll have a good chat. Raine has sacrifice issues with his bloodline and his brother sacrificing himself and all. By the way he's only like ten feet away, so it won't be that hard to find him, but I'm no going to have him hear, raine's a pretty forgiving guy as it is.)
Raine looked over the ground, checking in bushes and squinting up at trees. He couldn't find anything. The small boy sighed, he was just hindering everyone on this mission, what if they didn't get all the flags just because he was messing up so much. And that Xen guy! Jeeze he was such a p***k. Raine kicked a rock that shifted through the leaves and fell silent just out of sight.
Then again....
Raine remembered their first fight together, he was good really good. The guy used strategy well, his abilities were just not meant to hurt somebody like Raine. Looking up into the sky, shadows of leaves dancing over his blue eyes. He felt the warmth of the sun on his skin. This was his team, he'd have to work at it. No matter what, he couldn't give up on this guy. Maybe he really need to just... agree to disagree. Hearing rustling behind him. Raine opened his eyes and turned back. They must have been finished.
(Also I call the next flag, how about the simon says one?)

(Heh, Okay.)
Xenon seemed still as in good a mood as ever, "We've retrieved the Flag, did you manage to find another?" Xenon was pleased that Kimiko seemed to have let go of his jacket. giving up on her silly antics.
Kimiko was peering about. In truth she hoped things would just smooth over on their own, but that didn't mean she wouldn't serve as the bridge of this team. There was no way she'd let them fight amongst one another. They were destined heroes...even if Maboroshi was of the Anti variety, they were all still going to become heroes!
She smiled at Raine as well. "By the way, I just remembered, didn't our sensei say there were two of each color? So that means there's only five left right?'
Xenon looked at her sideways "Yes...but what's your point?"
Kimiko gave a thumbs up "Well...I've been thinking, I bet this whole test is about working together right? So it would make sense that flags that are our color aren't the ones we'll be skilled at retrieving... right? Which means maybe we should split up and look for everyone's but our own flags."
Xenon shook his head pushing up his glasses "I would not advise that."
Kimiko blinked a little surprised "Uh...why not?"
Xenon put both hands back in his pockets. "Assuming that a flag requires more than one person, or he assumed we'd figure something like that and assigned one of each of our own flags attested to our skills?" He shook his head "No. It doesn't benefit our odds to split up any great distance... I recommend we stay together. Still," he gave Kimiko a slightly smug grin "I'm impressed Momoe-san, we you actually trying to use your brain?"
"Shut it Maboroshi!" Kimiko was giving him eyes of blazing fury. Her rival just snickered before regaining his usual countenance.
