MiyokoxClarinetti DD: sorry, I meant it'd be bad for you...not me o____O;;;;; are you okay? @_@ yes, sweatdrop o_O errr my mom was 44 when I was born...::silence::....O_________O i'm so confused... awee thanks  ^_^; biggrin wait how did first chair get into the subject? for all state? o.O gasp!!! YAY! ^_^ go flaming ninja! biggrin my bd would be proud of you ^_^ for those who take the risk to be great are GREAT! o.O. mm...I don't think they'd like it if you do video game music...I attempted to last year but my bd gave me an odd stare and said, "a solo piece"....;_;. I can upload my all state piece...or some other pieces... sweatdrop ^_^;; You'll make it flaming ninja!!! biggrin ^_^! O_O!!!! YOU CHIPPED IT!? DD: >__< ;_; may it rest in peace.... Oooh thats good ^_^! @_@ I've been ooterly busy..... sad best of luck to ye! I must go off to my wind ensemble meeting now...whee "But overall, its going pretty good, me and my enemy nikki are going at it for first chair, my BD says its impossible to choose icon_scream.gif " That is how first chair got into the subject, quoted from your previous post. I don't think my BD would really mind if I played videogame music; we're not like a professional kind of band, and most of us only know two scales: Concert Bb and concert C scales. What the heck is the definition of a solo piece anyway? Like some lame piece by some dead composer guy with a wig? lol The game against our rival school went really well. My mouthpiece fell off TWICE but it survived and only got a couple a scratches. sweatdrop I got my mom to film their pregame and both of our halftimes (they were the home team this year, so they got to do pregame, but we got to do two songs during halftime and they got to do one and we did a combined number) and she said that we were like 10 times louder than them, although they have a bigger band. I'll see if there is anyway I can upload it so you can see it. My mom's video camera would only record part of their pregame; we both said that their marching and playing was so bad that the camera couldn't take any more of it. rofl It was fun, but really cold and it started snowing and me and my friend Chelsey started singing Jingle Bells, but we both forgot the same line of it and had to stop to figure it out. She says she's not joining high school band next year, and so I'm trying to pursuade her to stay in it because she's like my only 9th grade friend. It's been unsuccessful so far, but I still have a couple months before scedualing(sp) starts.

Did Copland wear a wig? Actually, are you calling Copland Classical? Copland was a modernist. Not as much of a modernist as some, but still a modernist. As for the score, I can't really since my scanner is broken. Normally I would attempt to sing it to you, but I imagine that you would prefer to keep your hearing for later (and current) use. But I will type the lyrics for you, since you would probably recognize them. 1st Verse: Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; he has trampled out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; something something something with his terrible swift sword! His truth is marching on! Chorus: Glory, glory, hallauia, *repeats two more times*, his truth is marching on! And Chelsey isn't the type that likes band. She barely even plays! But she has a lot of friends in band so I'm trying to get her to stay even just for her friends. (And maybe the 5 day trip to the beach at the end of our 10th grade year.)

Auditioned for wind ensemble/symphonic band today.
The dialogue was hilarious. I went early since the trumpet before me didn't show up.
BD: *to Assistant BD* I brought Nevira in instead. She's nicer. Me: *quickly stifles insane laugh* Okay, on the chromatic, do you want me to go full range? BD: Full. Low F to high F. ABD: But there's the E below it. Me: I could play the E below it... BD: Just F.
[Chromatic awesomeness is played]
BD: Okay, now your E flat scale, three octaves.
[E flat slightly-less-awesomeness is played]
BD: Okay, now all that's left is your etude.
[Etude selection awesomeness is played...about halfway through I get the spit behind my reed...nooooo! burning_eyes ]
BD: Okay, you're done. ABD: Great vibrato, by the way. >) Me: Thank you! blaugh ABD: *laughs*
So I'm pretty sure I dominated the audition. Since I didn't try out for CODA I won't (or at least shouldn't, since the rule is you have to try out for CODA to make WE) make WE, but just in case I'm still going to talk to ABD and ask to be in symphonic. Symphonic's a lot more fun and I wouldn't have the BD throw his tantrums in my face.

nooo copland didn't....I don't think liszt did either...or tchaikovsky....
DD: eeks i'm stupid =_= kill me kill me now DD:
Hmm maybe it might work, you can talk to the other people trying out too? :/; It sounds pretty though ^_^ mm...honor orchestras and stuff like that are usually gonna look for technique and musicality, so if it has all that then I think it'd be alright...
Ahhhh surprised ; reminds me of when I tried making a friend of mines stay in band...she turned out to become a person I hated XD
nevira- :O YAY! ^_^ I glared evily at mr. a when he took out that diet coke...=_=;. Ms. w was impressed with moi though <3...but I think it wasn't good :[
oh but your so lucky you don't have to say, "My uncle made me eat his liver with fava beans and a nice chianta" and "today [today today today] I am [am am am] the luckiest man [man man man] on the face of the earth [earth earth earth]" gonk
my teacher is going to hear teh recording and laugh DD:
I learned a new fact on saturday during lessons! When the season changes, its sadly time to put away those reeds you've been using and open a new box of reeds....;-; its nerve wracking breaking in those reeds!

I still don't understand what that had to do with band. stare Wow, I totally forgot about the reed thing. But I bought a new box today and started using the reeds. Maybe I remembered it subconsciously...?
