Nikolai watches buttercup carefully as she bounces. His eyes widen in concern. He feels a bump from below him, he sees what appears to be an alpha. He picks her up with his snout and sits her next to buttercup. Ivory and rayne race to Nikolai. Determined to jump on him. They pounced and he crumbles underneath them. Bones snapped and blood splattered the ground. He lightly growled in pain.

❣ Ren shakes her head again. This time her vision gets better. She looks up at Nikolai, "I'm assuming you are that wolf Nikolai that Strongheart was speaking of, correct?" Ikuto looks at Ren. He knew that even if Ren wasn't okay she wouldn't admit it. He thinks to himself, I hope she doesn't push herself too hard... I should've been there to stop that tree from falling on her! I'm so stupid! He goes back inside the den and to the healer's area. He looks at Lilly and tilts his head to the side, "Are you okay little one?" ❣

Lilly looks at Ikuto and her eyes go wide. She thinks of what happened to her mother and squeaks, "Please don't hurt me mister cat.... I promise I'm a good little wolf. I don't want to be gone like my mommy...."
Strongheart heard Lilly and said, "Hush little one. Ikuto's a nice little kitty. He's not going to hurt you like that wild cat did to your mother." She then nuzzled the pup before looking at Ikuto apologizing, "I'm sorry, her mother was killed by some type of big cat and I guess she's even afraid of little cats now."
Lilly went between Strongheart's legs and looked at Ikuto wondering if she misjudged him.

Ikuto smiles, "It's okay, I understand." He looks behind Strongheart, "Can you identify this big cat Strongheart?"

"I don't know if I can. Foxpelt saw Lilly's mother and the claw marks. Maybe if we go to where her mother is we could look for tracks?" Strongheart replied, then added, "Although, we'll have to be really careful because whatever big cat killed Lilly's mother could still be out there."
Lilly looked at Ikuto and said, "It had light brownish fur I think. I think mama called it a mountain lion and told me to get into the den. But then it got her...." She then curled up not wanting to think anymore about what happened.
Strongheart nuzzled Lilly and then asked, "I wonder if we should give her mother a proper burial? I just thought it would be the right thing to do. I wouldn't want to just leave her out there for whatever animal might find her."

Ikuto looks at Lilly and whispers, "Get out." He then goes back to staring behind Strongheart, not thinking about how Lilly would take what he said.

Lilly got up and looked at Strongheart curiously before going out of the healer's area and sitting next to Foxpelt.
Strongheart looked at Ikuto and waited for him to speak. She then wonders what Ikuto is looking at behind her. However, she doesn't look back and continues to look at him.

Shush, the cute wittle fluffy kitten is talking!
Ikuto goes under Strongheart to the shadows. He speaks in a language that Strongheart can't understand to seemingly nothing. Once he finishes his sentence a mystery voice says in the language Ikuto is speaking. After a few minutes Ikuto hisses and a mountain lion comes out of the shadows. Ikuto starts yelling at the mountain lion and the mountain lion hisses at Ikuto. The mountain lion runs out of the den and looks back inside staring at Lilly.

Strongheart sees the mountain lion and her thoughts go straight to Lilly. She gives Ikuto a quick glance before running out of the healer's area, then stops when she sees Lilly is with Foxpelt.
Foxpelt is staring at the mountain lion in shock and terror at the same time and then protectively stands over Lilly, knowing full well that the big cat could easily kill him. However, he wasn't going to let it take Lilly without a fight.
Lilly was too scared to move and was just huddling under Foxpelt with pure terror and hatred towards the big cat in her eyes.
Strongheart stands in a defensive stance, growling at the mountain lion. She knew it was foolish to be growling at such a large cat, but she wasn't about to let any harm come to Lilly.

Ikuto runs out of the healer's area and goes straight to the mountain lion and hisses. The mountain lion speaks and this time in the language that everyone can understand, "Rose sorry she caused harm to tiny wolf. If Rose didn't have to she wouldn't of. Rose's family is danger. Rose must kill for monsters." She bows her head, "Rose normally nice gentle lion, but Rose's family is danger. Rose here to make up for what Rose did. Rose came to warn tiny wolf and tiny wolf's friends."

"Your family is in danger? What does that have to do with Lilly's mother? Did she do something to threaten your family?" Strongheart asked, as she calmed down a bit. Strongheart then added, "Would it be safe for us to get the body of Lilly's mother? I wouldn't want to get mauled by a mountain lion for trying to get the body so it can be given a proper burial."
Lilly didn't say a word and just stared at the big cat, not wanting to believe that her mother had done something to make the big cat angry.

Ikuto looks at Strongheart, "Strongheart, she can barely understand this language, please slow down." Ikuto looks at Rose and explains what Strongheart said in the mountain lion's language. Rose looks at Strongheart and says, "Rose family danger. The monsters make Rose kill for them. Tiny wolf and tiny wolf's mother in way of monsters. Monsters make Rose kill tiny wolf's mother. Rose needs to hurry, she shouldn't be here! Rose came to warn! Rose's warning important!"

"Ikuto, is she saying we can't even go get Lilly's mother?" Strongheart asked, almost growling. She had never been this determined to risk everything before, but she would do it for Lilly. There was something about the pup that made her feel close to her, yet Strongheart couldn't pin what it was. Strongheart started pacing and wondered if she should stay or just leave to get Lilly's mother, even if it wasn't permitted.
Foxpelt looked at Strongheart and wondered what she was thinking. He knew that she might try something stupid so he said, "Strongheart, calm down. I want to help Lilly as much as you, but don't do anything you'll regret."
"Foxpelt...." She whimpered, wanting to go get Lilly's mother to give her the burial she deserved. However, she stopped pacing and sat down. Turning to Ikuto she asked, "What should I do?"

The mountain lion roars, "Rose trying to warn! Why wolves no pay attention!" Ikuto hisses at Rose and turns to Strongheart, Foxpelt, and Lilly.

"What are these monsters you speak of? And why can't we get Lilly's mother?" Strongheart asked slowly, trying to make sure that Rose understood her, then said, "I know she's dead, but I'm not letting her out there."
Foxpelt rubbed Strongheart with his nose and said, "It's not a good idea to go out there. If Rose says it's not safe then you aren't going."
Strongheart did something very unexpected, she turned on Foxpelt, biting his face and snarled at him, "I'm going to go and you aren't going to stop me." She walked to the den entrance and wondered if anyone would stop her. 'Oh my goodness...... I'm turning into my mother.....' she thought as she looked out into the forest. She shuddered and then slowly started walking out of the den.
