Despite the chaos that occurred days previous it didn't stop Miyuki from leaving the tent at her usual time (which was generally very early). She would just wiggle around anyways and that might wake Andarien up so there was no point in staying inside. Besides there was always someone on watch and as long as she stayed in the camp it didn't matter.
Besides, maybe she could convince Senka to play while waiting for breakfast. Even if Senka wasn't much for playing. In fact Senka was still sleeping in Miyuki's arms.

Aethos and Aric were on guard, though it was a fairly simple task now that they were beside the city wall and well in sight of the city guards. Aethos seemed somewhat tense (if a bit tired) but Aric was quite used to night vigils, and he was more relaxed, though just as alert.
Miyuki was the first in the camp to stir out of doors, and Aric turned to look at her purely out of instinct. When he saw her, he smiled and nodded a greeting before turning back to his post.
But a moment later, Amalirahc crawled out from beneath one of the wagons, where he had slept with his parents. He looked around, grinned when he saw Miyuki, then stood up and dusted off his knees. "Morning!" he called out, dashing over to her.

"Morning!" she turned and grinned at him.
Senka was snoring softly, it seemed like she could sleep through almost anything.
"Did you have a good sleep?"

Amalirahc grinned back at Miyuki. "Sure did! And it seems like Senka's still having a good sleep!"
He laughed. He would have pet Senka, but she didn't like him much as things were, if he woke her up she would really be angry with him.
"Do you think I would be able to go into the city with you and your family today?" he asked eagerly. "I haven't been in here in a while, it's pretty good! For a human city."

"I don't think ada and mommy would mind," Miyuki shrugged, "But you better ask them."
She couldn't think of a good reason for Amalirahc not go come with them unless his parents said no. Though she figured he wouldn't be asking if he knew his parents would say no.

"All right," Amalirahc replied brightly. "I'll ask them when they come out."
He didn't want to bother them if they were asleep, after all.
One by one, some of the others began emerging from their tents, and Arthael once more took charge of the food, stoking a fire and starting on breakfast.
Inside Earendil and Lin's tent, Earendil was laying, awake, next to Lin, waiting for her to wake up. He wasn't impatient; he was quite content to watch Lin sleep, knowing that there was nowhere for them to rush off to.
Andarien, however, was not so patient: he wriggled a bit in his blankets, then started to whimper, and then started to outright cry.

Even if the brightening day did not wake Lin up, the sound of the baby crying certainly did. Sleepy and without thinking she sat up and rocked crying Andarien in her arms.
"It's okay.... You're probably hungry."
She yawned at this.

Earendil chuckled at the way Lin took care of Andarien without even being fully awake. He leaned over and kissed her on the forehead. "Good morning."
He brushed one finger lightly across Andarien's cheek, and the infant turned his head to try to suck on his father's finger. Earendil chuckled softly as the boy's wails slowly stopped. "So the music isn't the only thing to get him to quiet," he grinned.

"I'm glad, I was worried about that a bit," Lin admitted.
She knew sometimes people were affected by the thing they came from, such as a vase or a picture, or in her son's case a music box. However, it was a bit disturbing to her that he seemed to be only calmed by the music box, to have that strong of a connection to the thing one came from could be good but to have a dependency on it she wasn't so sure.

Earendil smiled softly. "Well, now we know. We'll look for something in the city that he can suck on while we're traveling, it would make things easier. We can't travel with no hands, after all."
He sniffed the air. "Come on, it smells as if breakfast is ready. Let's eat, and we'll see if Lady Alena is ready to feed Andarien or if Andarien will have to wait."
He took his finger from the babe's mouth and held back the tent flap for Lin to duck out.

"Thanks," she murmured warmly as she ducked out of the tent.
Outside, Miyuki was sitting with Amalirahc getting Senka to wake up by telling her there was food. Though it was not fish, any sort of meat would do for the kitty cat.

Amalirahc had sneaked a scrap of meat that had finished being cooked and was dangling it in front of Senka's nose.
"Wakey wakey," he grinned at her.
"Careful, Amalirahc," River giggled as she joined the two. "Don't get her angry!"
Earendil followed Lin out of the tent and to the fire, where just about everyone else had gathered. Alena and Leilani were the only ones not by the fire, presumably tending their children. Even Aethos and Aric had joined the group.

Senka's nose twitched at the smell of the cooked meat. She cracked one eye open giving Amalirahc a look before eying the meat. It took her another moment or two to finally decide the meat was more worth than grumbling about being woken up.
Stretching up, Senka grabbed the meat carefully with her teeth while avoiding Amalirahc's fingers.

Amalirahc giggled and stroked her head gently. "Someday you'll like me more," he grinned. "Just you wait and see."
He looked up and spotted Lin and Earendil making their way over to the fire, and his golden eyes lit up brightly. "Oh! Lin! Earendil! Can I come with you to the city? Please?"
Leyenda and Kelirahc eyed each other apprehensively, but they kept their peace.
Earendil caught the look, and he couldn't help but wonder if there was something that they weren't telling them.

Lin smiled fondly at Amalirahc, she nodded not seeing an issue with it, "If it's alright with your parents."
After all, she wasn't sure how the two felt about their son going in without them. It wasn't that she noticed their looks, it was just a practical thing. This was a human city they were talking about.
