"I'm sure we'll have plenty of time," Lin assured Rhea, "If we go by roc it'll be a much faster mapping, we'll be guided by someone who knows the land very well, and the last I heard there are three whole archives for Shiro to copy. He's going to take a while."
Writing out by hand all those things she could only imagine the work out that Shiro's hand was getting.

"And he's showing them how to make books," Kaito put in with a grin. "Proper books, rather than scrolls. And some of the scrolls are too old to open very well, so he's going to have to treat them ... I think I can safely say we're going to be here for a good long while."
He blinked for a moment, then added hastily, "And I'm not leaving all the work to him, we would be here forever that way. When he gets to the scrolls that need treatment, I'll be helping him to make it go a bit faster."

Lin giggled at that knowing that it probably sounded like Shiro was doing it by himself. Of course she didn't know how long something like that would take at all.
"Of course," Lin replied, "I know how it sounded, but I know better. If we're done early and he's still treating scrolls I can help a bit too. I can't imagine how big of a task this is going to be."

"Well, you saw how many scrolls were in the one archive," Kaito quipped. "Thousands! And there are three archives!"
Rhea stared at him. "Are they all the same size?" she asked.
Kaito shrugged. "Well, one is bigger but it's mostly legal documents, rather than historical, so I don't think Shiro's going to do much with that one, but the other archive is all historical, and it's a bit bigger. So it's a lot of work, definitely."

It sounded like this was going to take a very long while, she hoped that Shiro was stretching regularly while he was doing this.
"Quite a large task," Lin murmured, "Has Shiro been out of the library at since he's started this? Besides going to bed that is."
Since she knew servants could and would take food up to where people were working.

"For meals," Kaito nodded. "They won't let any food or drink in the archive, the scrolls are too delicate. And he spent yesterday with the king, just talking with him ..."
Still, overall Shiro did mostly sit in that chair. It wasn't as if he lacked fresh air, after all.

"Well as long as he doesn't sit too long he'll make himself stiff that way," Lin replied.
She knew a lot of Shiro's work involved sitting but still it couldn't be so good to sit all the time like that.

"He's pretty good at getting the kinks out," Kaito grinned. "Don't worry about him."
He looked over at Rhea. "So are you going to get anything?"
"Not this time," Rhea smiled reluctantly. "Perhaps another time. I'm definitely coming back here, though!"

Lin had to agree that this place was far too interesting not to return to sometime in the future.
"I would like to as well, to look more," Lin added, "To bring something back...."

Rhea clasped her hands behind her back. "I wonder if anyone else is getting anything," she murmured, looking around for the others.
Kelirahc and Leyenda were waiting by the door with Arwen and Roydon, but Earendil was at the counter, talking with the shopkeeper.

"I don't know...." Lin murmured.
It was a fair enough question she thought as she wandered over to where Kelirahc and Leyenda were to see what they thought of the place. Though she was probably more interested to see what Kelirahc thought than anything else.
"Kelirahc, Leyenda," Lin padded over, "Done looking?"

Kelirahc turned to Lin and smiled warmly at her, his golden eyes sparkling brightly. His hand was clasped with Leyenda's, and he held out their hands to Lin to show her.
"Leyenda bought some rings for us," he said proudly, showing them off. They were simple gold bands, his thick and hers thin, and seemed to be the perfect fit for each of them.
With his other hand, he twisted the ring slightly, and Leyenda giggled and slapped his hand gently. "Stop fidgeting with it," she laughed.
Kelirahc pouted at her. "It feels strange."
"You'll get used to it," she giggled.

Lin grinned it was perfect for them really, the two were married after all.
"Leyenda's right, after a while you won't even realize it's there," Lin nodded, "The jewelry here is really pretty. I hope to come back and find something for mom."

At that moment, Earendil and Alena joined them at the door. Earendil was holding a small package in his hand, and he smiled at the others when they joined them.
"All set?" he asked them.
Leyenda poked the package. "What did you end up getting?" she asked him. "I know you were eying a few different things."
Earendil grinned. "Went with the roc necklace," he replied. "I thought it might have a bit more meaning."

"Roc necklace?"
Lin looked up at him wondering what it looked like, it sounded neat. Though she wondered if it was in the shape of a roc or if it had some sort of representation of a roc....
"May I see?"
