He hadn't cried so hard since... since he couldn't even remember. Damian was quite, quite sure, though, that if he had, he would have been alone with his grief instead of having the lovely-hearted woman with her hands over his heart.
A few more minutes passed, and Damian changed from crying to steady breathing.
"Could you get me a tissue, love?" he said in a snuffly voice. "I'm alright now..."

Raquel let her arms slip away from him long enough to reach for a box to tissues next to the bed. She set it down in front of him, rubbing his back soothingly. "Are you sure? We've got all the time in the world if you need more time darling..." She said this because when she used to grieve, she'd have to suck it up fast, or hide it away, because in her world, there was no time or place for grieving. It was survival mode. She didn't have the luxury to simply cry now and again.

After his nose was cleared, Damian nodded slowly. He had a good cry, if any kind of cry could be called that. Although his head hurt and his eyes burned, and his breathing as a little stuffy, he did feel a little better that a few things were out there in the open.
"No, I'm alright. Most of that is missing my mother and father. That will take much more time to get over completely."
Damian offered her a smile with a little sniffle attached to show that he would be alright for the night, and hopefully for the rest of the days ahead.
"Thank you for not being overwhelmed by that. It was sudden, and I'm sorry."

"Don't be..." She hugged him gently. "We've both had an emotional day...its ok...I'm glad you trust me with your problems like that..." She leaned up, giving him a soft, sweet kiss under his jawline. "But lets be happy now. After a good cry, you need a good laugh!" And thus Raquel proceeded to tickle Damian's sides, trying to see that lovely smile of his full force again.

"Aiyee- h-hey!" Damian twisted and squirmed from her touch, but she had that gift of getting him just where he would be sent into a spasm of laughter. "Mercy, mercy!" he'd say desperately, not really fighting her off for fear he might hurt her. And, he did need the laugh, as she said.

Raquel laughed and laughed, tickling him until he was on his back, and even ten she had no mercy. "Oh no, come on, you need to laugh harder and smile even brighter for me to let you go...or distract me somehow." She winked, letting her hair fall over her and him once again as she tickled him from above.

"I c-can-t think--" He tried offering her bigger smiles, but Raquel was merciless, and was finding her own ways to make him squirm even more. "I love you!" he said, hoping that was enough of a reason or her to leave his poor ribs and stomach alone.

She let up only slightly, an evil gleam still in her eye. "If you kiss me...I might consider stopping~" She sang out to him in a taunting way as she started up again, threatening to tickle him silly if she had to.

If that was all he had to do, then he would do it. Damian caught her hands in his and pulled her down to him, giving her a kiss ruined just a bit by his recovering laughter. It dissipated, giving him a better chance at convincing her that she should stop torturing him.
"Have you considered?" Damian said with his lips brushing across her still as he spoke.

It was hard to act cocky or arrogant after that. She barely moved, simply letting her hands go limp into his, her lips parted for another kiss. "I think so... Though...c-could... you say it again? How we're really going to be Mr. and Mrs. Centurion?" She pleaded slightly, her eyes so youthful and innocent as their breaths intertwined and brushed agaisnt the other.

"You only have to answer one question for that to happen: will you marry me, Raquel?" He twiddled with the ring upon her left hand. Damian closed his eyes and kissed her before she could answer, but still wanted to hear her say yes, and seal their fates again.

Raquel closed her eyes as well, embracing the kiss, running her right hand through his dark hair. When the kiss finally broke, she kept her eyes closed, uttering out a soft, breathless but definate "Yes..." She pressed her forehead to his. "Yes my darling, yes.."

"Then there you have it, Mrs. Centurion. My Raquel. There you have it."
He nuzzled his nose against hers and kissed her cheek. This he would never regret. They would be together to protect and love one another, to always be there for anything. He loved her for her physical love, of course, but moments like these, he adored her touch and voice, and presence. Everything was right there, laying on his chest and hovering just above his lips.

She smiled absently, her eyes still closed, as a single, happy tear peaked out through her eye lids and fell on his cheek. She opened her eyes which seemed to be sparkling more than ever because of the tears of joy, but she did not cry. Instead she laughed lightly at the little spot on his cheekbone, leaning down to kiss it away before moving down to his ear.
After a short lingering and nibble, she whispered softly. "I love you my darling... I you don't know how incandescently happy I am right now..." She let her nose trace along the edge of his ear, just wanting to hold onto him a bit longer, not wanting this near perfect, wonderful moment to end...

"I think I do know. Incandescently... brilliant word." His hands slipped from hers so he could wrap them around her waist and back. So, so tired he was, and he feared he might just fall asleep like this with Raquel gently turning his mind to intimacy regardless of his state. She could always drive him crazy, but he was trying to be good.
