Woutan Manasal It's not a surprise from trekkies, but... are Twilight fans more dedicated than the Touhou fanbase as well? Wow. They're just crazier in a "What the ********" kind of way. Trekkies, on the other hand, are... Ridiculously dedicated. Heck, there's even a FUNCTIONAL ficticious language that Trekkies can learn... Of course, the difference is that Touhou fans are WEIRD but HARMLESS, and also PRODUCTIVE, which is AWESOME. -------------- HOLY s**t so many faves in deviant Art after I uploaded the Touhou Stuff!!

As much as I approve of virtual singing production software and the blurring of the line between reality and fiction, the amount of sheer production of Vocaloid-related stuff is far outshined by Touhou stuff. Let's see if I can find some HARD COLD NUMERICAL FACTS to back this assessment... Ah, here it is. Just look at it. Just effing look at it~!There were OVER 2,000 TOUHOU DOUJINSHI made in 2009. Only 735 of Vocaloid. That's less than half of the number of Touhou Doujin made in that same period of time. And that's JUST the Print Stuffs. It doesn't include Music, Figures, and others. Compared to Touhou fans, vocaloid fans look STRIKINGLY PALE in comparison. Pale, like a Vampire that glitters in the sun.

As much of a Vocaloid fan as I am, I agree that Vocaloid has NOTHING on Touhou in terms of fandom (at least in Japan). Touhou not only has a greater sized fandom, but a more dedicated one. The amount of songs for all Vocaloids combined fails in comparison to the amount of Touhou arranges.
On a side note, the Miku Append add-on is quite nice. Making Miku sound more human and all is neat and shows how far the technology is coming, but I honestly prefer original Miku. I found the artificial sound to her voice to be part of her charm. Same for all of the others.
