Khana nodded, understanding now at least, then shrugged, "Can do" she said, following Kimmi over to Luke and Kay. They were both out of the water now, but Kay looked horrible, and Luke was bleeding at the elbow, other then that, he at least looked fine.

The surface of the water rippled as something came speeding at them from under the water. Breaking the surface the thing leaped into the air, heading right toward Kay. It's jaw opened to expose large, sharp teeth as it lunged for her. A burst of energy shot through Kay's arm as she brought her sword to bear on the thing just before its jaws snapped shut on her, cutting it in half. Leaning on her sword, Kay sighed heavily.
As Kay finally dragged her way onto the shore, the thing that had clamped onto her leg became visible. It was one of those things, it teeth dug deep into her leg with its jaw clamped shut. Even nearing death it still hung on. She drug her sword up and across its neck, taking its head off. The thing finally dead, the buzzing in Kay's head slowly began to clear. She plopped her head back onto the ground exhausted, the thing's head still clamped to her leg.

After Kay dispatched the thing clinging to her leg, Luke immediately tried prying it's jaws apart with his hands, causing his fingers to bleed. He finally got it off, but was surprised by hot strongly the jaws had been even in death, like steel clamped onto her leg. He tossed the head into the water, and shook his hand as drops of blood fell to the ground, and he noticed the color was barely lighter then before, possibly meaning that the process was starting to slow. He took his shirt off then and started tearing it apart, then wrapped a strip around his hand, and another around his elbow. He looked down at how Kay's leg was bleeding, and knew he should staunch that as well.
Khana jumped by the sudden attack by the thing that jumped out of the water and raised her gun, but Kay took care of it, which was probably better because she didn't want to accidentally shoot her.

Kimmi pulled her needle and thread and took a strip from what was left of Luke's shirt and used it the cut the blood flow. Carefully she sewed up the worst of it and then then used the strip to bandage the wound.

"You know what?" Kay mumbled, her eyes still closed. She hadn't moved in the least bit from where she collapsed. "I've been in a lot of fights. But I only seem to need stitches when I'm around you guys." She peeked through her eyelids at the others and smiled. "I've never had so much fun."

Kimmi rolled her eyes. "And I've never been so out in the open." She grumbled. "At least when I was pretending I got in less trouble." She sighed. "What the hell were those things? I've never seen anything like them, I don't remember reading any research on something like them either. Plenty of stuff on kids, but never on something like those." She looked at Luke. "Do you thing they are Father's or from the building?" Her eyes widened and cut to Khana as she slipped the Father bit.

Luke had been watching Kimmi sew Kay up while trying to figure out himself what those were. He didn't think they were from the building, he would have noticed when he was there before, when Kimmi fried his chip. He started to answer her, just realizing who she said that in front of as she did and he looked from her to Khana. Khana was staring intently at Kimmi, obviously having caught that. He expected her to say something, but she didn't move, as if frozen in place.

Kimmi watched Khana like a hawk for any sign she was going to freak out. When the girl didn't move she got a little worried. "Khana?" She asked her softly as she put the sewing kit away in her pouch. She didn't look at him but was still expecting his opinion. "Luke?"

Khana was very tense, for it had only taken her a few seconds to grasp what Kimmi must have meant and who she was talking about. She hadn't been holding a gun anymore, both were strapped over her shoulders, but her hands were balled tightly into fists. "What did you say?" she asked, her voice completely even and very serious. A million thoughts were running through her head and she couldn't make sense of any of them. One of which was that Luke did not seem surprised.
Luke also did not look away form Khana, but said slowly, "I would have noticed before if they were from the building..." he stood up slowly as Khana said that, but didn't otherwise move, he had no clue what she was going to do, but that was one of the worst ways she could have found out. Kimmi would have been better off telling her by explaining everything.

Kimmi gave Khana a pained look. This had been the reaction she feared, the reason she didn't tell. "The guy who created and released the virus is my father." She said slowly though she moved back and out of Khana's reach. "I'm the one who set Kay free and burned the lab she was in so that she would remain unique." Her eyes cut to Luke before returning to watch Khana closely.

Part of the reason Khana was reacting this way was because of how the information had been given to her, so suddenly and by accident. "Why didn't you say anything before?" she said, her tone was icy, and she seemed more angry over this then the actual fact itself. She still didn't move like she was still locked in place, but she wanted answers, now, no more waiting. As if it wasn't enough the Kimmi's personality wasn't like she thought it was...

Kimmi winced and took another step back. "Because I knew how it would be taken." She said indicating Khana's reaction. "Some of the camp wouldn't blame me, but most of them..." She shrugged. "I had hoped he thought I died when I cut the tracking chip out at the very beginning." She bit her lip. "They would hand me over in a heart beat if they thought he would save them for it. The rest would just kill me off to prevent him from getting me."

Luke took a few steps closer to the two. He still didn't know how this was going to turn out. He could tell that Kimmi obviously thought it would turn out bad, and she kept backing up. He wasn't sure exactly, but he still got closer anyway, just in case... you never knew...
"So you deceived us all?" Khana continued in the same way.

That's it, her temper had enough. Khana's cold tone pissed her off. "It's not like that!" She snapped. "And it's not like I didn't warn you over an over! I always made it a point to inform you that you didn't know me, I constantly told you you shouldn't trust me, and how many bloody times to I have to tell you not to underestimate me before you get it!" She yelled at her. "I warned you! I did what I had to do, I gave you and everybody else what you needed most and never asked any of you for anything in return. If things got too dangerous for everyone else I fully intended to leave." She grit her teeth and balled her fists. "I did what I had to!"

Khana grit her teeth at Kimmi's outburst, her own anger really rising now, "It's not about that!" she spat, taking a step forward. She started to say something else and stopped, shaking her head, and turned around suddenly. She just walked away, refusing to say anything else. Her knuckles were white from how tightly she held them, almost drawing blood where her nails bit into her skin. She was heading back to the trees where she had been before, not actually caring where she went.
