Lily could hear him but didn't see him advance towards her because her eyes were fixed on the muck below. Lightning cracked above and struck a nearby tree, lighting it in a blaze of orange and red flames. Lily's eyes snapped up as she saw the fire. It was still raining but the fire was too large and was spreading too fast for the rain to put it out. The sky was so dark with black smoke billowing up into the sky that it reflected the red and orange from the fire. In the Forest the fire was spreading fast. She knew the fire would have the whole clearing circled within minutes. If Darius didn't get out now he might burn along with her.
"Darius! Get out now! The fire is spreading too quickly!"

"No!" he yelled, "I'm not leaving without you!"
The fire continued to spread and time was running out. He had to get her out of here but how. She was being so stubborn. He was trying to save her and she wouldn't have it.

Lily looked at Darius desperate to get him out of here.
"Darius you can't stay here. Time is almost up! If you stay here there is no way you'll make it out alive!" Derek looked at him with a desperate pleading look. She couldn't let him die. She loved him too much to jump without knowing that he was safe.
She was crying again now. On her knees with her head in her hands. "Darius you have to leave....you can't die. No please. You just can't....YOU JUST CAN'T!!"

Darius looked at the raising flames and then at Lily. He had only one choice. It was risky but he had to.
"You can't die either!"
And with that he leaped forewards towards Lily, grabbing her around the waist, there was a slight tearing sound, but Darius didn't here it. And slowly, the two lovers fell down to the mud of the gorge. When they landed they did not sink. The mud was not deep here. Darius still held on to Lily not wishing to let go. His eyes seemed to be near the verge of tears.
"Never...do that again..."

Lily felt Darius's body hit hers at full force and the next thing she knew they were lying together in the mud. Lily looked up at him and couldn't help but be confused. She had gone to this spot in the gorge because it was where the mud ran deep. She looked around and then noticed the log they'd tried to cross nearly 100 feet away. She had overshot her target by a long ways....but right now she was terribly happy that she had.
Lily looked at Darius, tears of joy now running down her cheeks, and suddenly everything melted away...the pain that all her cuts were giving her...the fact that her clothes were nearly ripped into nothing, and even more, the flames that surrounded the two of them went unnoticed by her. She pushed a small peice of Darius's hair out of his face and then kissed him. Long and hard, full of passion and love.
"Darius....I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..."

Darius embraced her as she kissed him. It looked like he had brought back the Lily he knew. The rain continued to fall and the fire continued to burn and Lily had definately looked better at diffrent times, but it didn't matter to him. He had gotten his Lily back.

Lily wanted to laugh, she wanted to cry, but mostly she wanted to be in Darius's arms and never leave. She wrapped her arms around him and lay her head in his chest. The fire was at the edge of the gorge now, burning and cackling, but it couldn't reach them. The gorge was too wet for the fire to go, so it settled to stay at the edge of the gorge, letting them know that they indeed were trapped....but alive.

Darius and Lily sat there hudled togeather, keeping warm even though they were wet and muddy and in Lily's case bloodstained. He smiled as he held her close. She was smiling, the event was over. Now they could be happy and togeather again.

Lily wiped some tears from her eyes, ignoring the pain that was running up and down her body...in case you didn't know, open cuts and mud don't mix. She looked at Darius, and then at the fire that seemed to be lessening as the rain got it's turn and was slowly putting the flames out. Lily looked up at the edges of the gourge as the fire slowly died and the rain triumphed. "I love you Darius."

Darius smiled, "I know you do Lily, I love you too."
Darius then broke the embrace and sat up beside her. The rain washed away any mud and all worries he had at that time. The rain seemed to slow down in speed as well. It looked like everthing was going to be alright.

Lily stood up and offered Darius a hand to get up as well. "So would you like to fly us out of here?" She asked, now feeling the sting of her open cuts, and wishing she had some bandages, but knew she would get some soon. Darius could fly her to the drom building and maybe she'd offer to let him come hang out in her room for awhile while she took care of her scratches and cuts.

He took her hand and lifted himsef up. The rain had now stopped completely and it was even clearing up.
"Sure, lets go back."
Darius flew up slightly and reached out his hands just above Lily's head, ready to take her back.

Lily reached up Darius's hands, feeling his srting body lift her weak and exahusted one, up to him. They soared into the sky and Lily couldn't help but smile as the moon looked beautiful tonight, now that the storm clouds had parted the moon shone down into the gorge with a brilliance of light so bright you could see many details of the forest.

Darius smiled as the two of them flew accross the sky. Things had turned out for the better and it looked like everything wound be running smoothly. Then, he looked down at Lily and noticed that something seemed to be slipping of her body, like a fabric, but he couldn't tell.

Lily noticed the fabric too. It hadn't occured to her just how ripped her clothes were till they came falling off, leaving her in Darius's arm with only her undergarments in tact, and even those were only just barely hanging on. Her face flushed red with embaressment wondering just what Darius was thinking and how far they were from her dorm where she could change.
"Darius, my dorm window is open, we can just go in the window." She said, trying to rid the blush from her cheeks.
