black moonrise Audley Does anyone know of any people who are on quests to join this guild? I see one of our most recent members was questing to have enough art to join, and I know Katherdante had a quest a year ago to do so ... Has anyone else done that? I'm really interested in that sort of thing - I'm not sure why (; I am. edit:: YAY!! I NOW HAVE 52 PIECES OF ART!! -goes to apply- your sig @_@ sooo cute

Audley It seems like there's a fair mix of people who had quests and who just happened to have the required amount when they found the guild/wanted to apply for membership. Goodo (: As for dA v.5 ... I'm ambivalent, I suppose. I miss things, but it still works, so ... c'est la vie, really. I don't have enough vested in dA to take any of it too hard. There's been a lot of comment on the categories system, which is odd (or not), since that change took place before the new site upgrade (only slightly before, but still) - it seems to be getting lumped in with general v5 complaints (why not? I suppose). Katherdante - I hope your friend does join when he gets back. It's good to have new members (: I remember before I joined I saw someone saying this guild was too competitive and that members are only the number of commissions they have. I was slightly amused - does anyone know how many commissions anyone else currently has unless they have it in their signatures or request thread? Competitive? >@,@< Whaa? Its just fun to keep count. Its not like your loarding it over anyone else becuase you happen to have more art. Besides everyone has their own agenda. Some people just want a few, REALLY REALLY good pieces... others just love having as much as they can get away with and I think a lot of us appreciate a range of style and are at heart just a group of art appreciators. We just like to appreciate our art as custom pieces. lol heart

Curious if there's any interest among the art whores for an idea I had. I'm thinking about setting up a group action which I plan to title "MEN WHO LOOK LIKE MEN." I hope the theme of the auction is obvious. The winner would not be compelled to order a picture of a man, or a manly man, but the idea that it would actually possible is there.
Not sure if I'd even be able to get enough Gaians involved to participate, but knowing there's art whoresh interest or not would help me discern if the auction has a chance of being successful.

i think most people on here [gaia of course, not the guild] who have male ocs actually want them to resemble women, so i don't know how well that would work. if they aren't "bishies", a lot of gaians have mainly female ocs, which wouldn't work either, i suppose.

Problem with that is that Rae hates auctions. XD
I like manly men but I'm pretty broke so my interest is of no use to you. I agree with Magaly, Gaia is too used to the pretty boys. So it might not go over well.

pretty men. XD; i draw the line at pretty men, not looking like men. i mean, it's okay if they're pretty, sure. but when it gets to the point where it no longer looks male....meh.

Mek, I know ;_; I wonder if Rae would be willing to make an exception for a manly man joined auction though >_>;; I think the degrees of how manly the artists are drawing will vary, though. I mean, my mens tend to walk the line, but my roommate (who, if I get enough interest, will be pursuaded to participate).. well..

that is what i like most about your work. some of the men may be a little femenine, but you can tell it's intentional and they still look like men.

well, i'm sure you won't have trouble finding people to participate.
i don't know, there seems to be a line with people that have male ocs. they're either super afeminate or super rugged. i'd imagine it's difficult for most people to find artists who can draw rugged/"regular" men well [i know it sure as hell is for me], i'd probably bid if you got a good lineup.

Mmm, I know some people who would be interested in bidding, but I kind of wonder if they'll be able to afford it. xd Ah well, someone has to start off the bidding, eh?

Hehehe...you're all right about me. xd Yes I love my men manly. Yes I hate auctions. Yes I might make an exception and bid. rofl
It can't hurt to try Anetra. The worse that could happen is the starting bid wins. Just make different sizes/quanities available for whatever the high bid is and you can safegaurd against that. :3
