Hinoicarri Tamlin certainly did not like this situation. she was calmed a bit to hear that the disappearance of her finger was not permanent.
she held her arms firmly at her side and addressed the guard again
"i certainly would hope so, but i also think this could be sorted out a bit faster if that man" she nodded at the boothman " would be more honest. i know DeArca gave him money for a game, but i only have 5 couplets to my name, i couldnt even afford the price he asked to begin with. however if he refuses to be honest go ask any of those we came with, and they will attest for us. also, id like to know exactly what we are being suspected for before i just let myself be taken and none of that technical jargon, none of us can understand what it means." she paused to give the guard an unkind look, but her polite tone never dropped.
"as i said before, we played a free game, if this is gambling then that is one charge ill agree too, however, i did not steal from or attempt to kill or hurt anyone. Zak only acted out of what he took as self defense, what can you expect when you start losing pieces of your body." The boatsman sighed, unamused. "You're being arrested for suspicion of being a thief, if that's in terms enough for you. And talk as you like, we aren't just going to take you at words. We have to take you in, it's for the Cadress to decide. Now...." and he turned to Zak as well, "present your arms for binding, or else we'll support you magically there."

Keppit Ki had taken the whole trip with a grain of salt, and had managed to keep to herself mostly.. but that really was how she prefered things. When the liscences had been offered she'd looked into her wallet and found but 10 couplets. At the time she'd felt rather ashamed that she wasn't able to buy anything, but now as she walked around watching the other memebers of the caravan buying and selling, trying to make sense of thier fortuenes... she found herself glad that she hadn't any money... and glad that she didn't have a fourtune spouting animal. It allowed her to keep her distance from these people. Not that she didn't like them... just that she was actually quite a bit more like her son, the mole boy, than any of there beautiful gypsies. So she walked between the booths, looking, but never touching, Van'Dien blanced on one hip. A man swarthed in nearly fifteen belts- some wrapped around his arms, others his legs, but mostly along the long line that was his sinewy torso, was sauntering down the boardwalk along a similar line as Ki. It was this compact little redhead that he was watching, and the unsightly child at her hip. "She will do." He whispered, as if to himself- but a bit of gurgling flesh answered from beneath a belt. "Excuse me, ma'am," he said, coming up closer to her, a half-jog to her side. "Are you travelling with this caravan?" His voice was not unpleasant, but had a rasping sound to it, as if there were little air present to support it.

X-Men Lover Valelldia X-Men Lover Oqaia Oqaia X-Men Lover DeArca smiled and put two fingers down. "Evens" He said. "Evens tis. Here's your dice..." He held his fingers with the two cubes cupped inside between them and his palm, then shook his hand a twist and let the cubes fly along the table, where they settled near DeArca's fingers. "OOoooh, Odds. Boddikens, you gypsies is unlucky plumsuckers." DeArca's left index finger vanished, leaving no hole or remnant, nor a feeling there where the finger used to be. "Play again?" DeArca's eyes widened in fear as he saw his finger gone. "Nnn....Double or Nothing. Evens again...." he begged, wanting it back ((It's not letting me do 'action, dice' so I rolled two real dice- and lucky you, evens it was ^_^)) "Lucky ducky! Here's 100, then." He forked over the couplets. "Want to play again? Winner gets 200, PLUS the digit back." DeArca's index finger was still gone. "Nnn" He frowned, a little nervous to do so. But wait, he didn't say he'd take away another finger so this time, he was safe to try and earn his finger back. "Evens again sir" he said, praying to everything he could think of. Money wasn't important...just his finger. ((Rolling my dice again.... 12! blaugh Lucky duck.)) "Well well, lucky day for the man." The mark on the table gave a faint glow, and DeArca's finger reappeared. Boothman dropped 200 on the table. "Running out of house and home, y'know. Care to try again? Winner gets 500."

She could see these men were not going to listen to logical speech, perhaps this Cadress would, seeing as it was his job.
"fine" Tamlin held out her arms, a very disgruntled look upon her face "I am telling the truth so you know, it would be much faster to take care of that con artist, but as you are so adamant lead on to this Cadress"

But he bound her arms with five words that streamed from his mouth and marched around her wrists, 'Fadorum, Cartus, Cadress Si Amon'- as if they had been written on the air and were revolving around her wrists, letters jumbling up at the cross where the two wrists met and disappearing briefly in their march around the underside before coming around again. He then hauled her off as the other boatsman waited for Zak to do the same. It was a short trek up off the boardwalk, and some hundred feet to a tall, tower-like sand brick building, where Tamlin was promptly marched into (not unlike the letters doodling across her skin) and motioned to sit on a long cushion on the floor that propped up against the tan brick wall. The boatsman left her, but she wasn't alone for more than a second before a redheaded man appeared from the back room, a thin bit of parchment roll waiting at the end of his quill. "Name?"

"it's normally considered rude to ask someones name without introducing yourself, but this place seems full of people who just want answers without considering the best way to get them."
Tamlin felt she pulled off her mother's trick of looking down her nose at the red haired man, despite her sitting position necessitating her to look up at him.
"I however, was not raised without manners, My name is Tamlin Maire Sorcha, and under better circumstances I'd be pleased to make your acquaintance my dear sir."

Hinoicarri He paused and released Lorelei's hand to pat Vanna comfortingly. "do not worry about your mother, child."
" I am Warren Snell. Lorelei, it is imperative that you follow me now" Vanna squeaked and wiggled, trying to get away from Warren. Lorelei settled on trusting Leax. She needed her sight, after all - she felt on edge. So she pressed Vanna into his arms. "Keep her safe," Lorelei murmured, pressing a blind kiss to Leax's cheek, and then to the top of Vanna's head. Then she turned, pulled off her blindfold, and met Warren's eyes with her one still-functioning one.
She didn't like what she saw, but the man was insistent, and she doubted that she could resist well. She would go along... but run when things started to go south.
Slowly, so followed him.

Valelldia Blanketman blinked up at the woman. Then, his eyes went almost completely blank as all color rolled back into his head. He was left with white bits of almond shaped horror that twitched and righted themselves when they returned from whatever realm they'd visited. "I don't know anything, actually. I'm only a conduit. But I suspect you'll be needing that Pest sooner. Rather than later. You're in quite a lot of pain. In fact, you're about to go into labor." A dark look crossed his face, and a prickle of shadows danced across his eyes. He blinked again. "Just thought you should know." Irina, who had only once seen such methods of prophecy, was slightly startled as the man's eyes rolled back into his head. But soon enough, his pupils returned again, and he began to speak.
Almost as if the baby inside her could hear the man speak, Irina felt sharp pain radiate through her abdomen. Was it really that time already? She winced, and let out a groan before righting herself again to look into the Blanketman's eyes. "My, your predictions seem to be quite accurate sir," she said through clenched teeth. "What do you know of this Pest? I also would prefer to find him sooner rather than later..."
Again, another sharp pain hit her and she groaned again. Never having gone through natural childbirth before, she hadn't known what to expect. Right now, she wanted nothing more than someone by her side who knew about such things.Eerie looked at his mother, slightly frightened by what he was seeing. Was she okay? "Hep Ma!" he shouted to anyone who would listen, holding his mother's hand tightly, desperation crossing his face.Kal wasn't much help either, as she was fascinated by the entire incident. She stared at Irina wide-eyed, not sure quite what to do. Eerie was the stable one. He seemed to know what he was doing, even if he didn't look like it...

The mole-boy didn't fidget or say anything, he just sat still staring at the belts. Ki also found herself staring at the belts... it was a lot of belts. "Nice outfit." Then she turned and looked out over the boardwalk with a sigh, this time it was an outward one. "Yeah. I'm traveling with them. But before you try to sell me anything, I don't have any luck, or any money."

Slowly, so followed him. He looked hard at the child in Leax's care and then nodded a quick farewell to the two. Warren turned his attention back to Lorelei. he held out an arm covered with bells and vials on which to lead her, but was otherwise silent as he guided her towards the city. He was distinctly aware of her anxiety, but other then this simple gesture the strange man made no outward signs as he walked with purpose to his goal with Lorelei in tow.
it wasn't until it began to darken he paused for a moment and spoke, facing her directly. "Do not fear, at least not me, we are going somewhere safe." Warren fell silent for what seemed a long period
he dropped his gaze infinitesimally and spoke again much quieter, almost as if he was speaking to himself "She is growing stronger though, that safety is beginning to ebb"
"But what am I saying!" he burst out with a joviality that was quite unexpected, "I have a lady to lead! Shall we?" as he offered up his arm again in a flurry of bells an clinking vials.

He thought he might be irritated, but what came out of his mouth was a voice tempered with a small measure of politeness. "And are you familiar with our legal system at all, ....Ms Sorcha? Or would you like a representative to explain things to you, and aid you in the process?"
