((I love your ideas of creative food! If you dont mind, I would love it if your could make up some foods/plants for the forest of Eloush! whee Just something I didn't think to do so before. If you would, send it to me via PM when you finish and I'll post it on the first page.))

Clearly now focusing on the other Elf from out of Village. Lae was shocked, she had never known an Elf to call Bredia elves unkind and to have bad acceptance twords others. She took it as a blow to her heart and her ancesters. Lae sadly knew that also this elf had every right to call harsh judgement on her fellow elves. She had never known these sweet and kind elves be so judgemental twords things not known to them.
Maybe even I have much to learn of even my own kind, she thought sadly.
Lae was grateful to hear that this elf accepted her proposel of staying at her house. However....that still left abit of a problem....

"Lae!"

Hearing her own name called clearly over the clearing crowd, she turned to see who it could be. Ichnel.
Hearing that he had extra Moonsquash and Ice Lettuce made her ever so happy! Looking to the heavens she silently thanked them for bringing the amazing green thumb to her.
She knew many elves that dispproved of talking or even being around such a dark elf as Ichnel, but she knew him to be as kind as any Bredia elf.
Smiling at Ichnels tall frame she called back with,

"Oh yes! It would be an honor to accept food from your garden to help feed these new....incoming guests! I'll be ever so grateful to you!"

She then thought of what the group may think of him. Not everyone took lightly to such a dark looking elf. She could only hope for a good responce from both the elves and the new guests.

((lei...duh. rolleyes ))

Luke grins at Haylin's words.
"Yeah, almost. But I think poor Gabe has it worse than any of us."
He points out the black panther slightly off to the side. Numerous elven younglings are jumping on him, petting him roughly, and pulling on his tail. Stepping over, Luke grins.
"Come on, come on. Leave the poor guy alone."
He shoos the children away as they laugh playfully. Bending down, he brushes a bit of dust from Gabe's fur and grins.
"Well, you sure have a way with kids, don't you?"
Getting up he walks back towards the group, hoping Gabe won't lag behind.

((Lol...Okay I'm gonna try replying to a whole bunch a things at once...))

Her appreciation for Marael had not fully set in until the blessed elf made to banish the resentful on-lookers. Though the next words from her mouth did not please her nearly as much. At first Emmia wanted to defend the people that had let her come back here after all that had happened with her family. She wanted it to be known that these people were not to be judged so quickly, but at the same time she remembered how they looked at her when all found out what she was. Just the same she found their excuse.
"It's only because of what's been happening. Don't think of them all in such a hateful manner... they've nothing else to go on, but to assume the worst." she quietly stated to the group. But just after she'd said this, the youngling confronted Luke with her token of welcome.
'Finally...' she thought. "And there is my proof..." she added.

After her breif moment of satisfaction she looked over to see that Lae was not having the same thoughts. She was about to confront this when Ichnel advanced on her with a solution to the potential distress. It was like a cycle, Emmia's home was too small so Lae offered hers, she had limited food so Ichnel comes to offer some. Emmiadora couldn't help her smile at his sudden rescue.
"Thank you so much, Ichnel!" she said as she gazed up at him with a bright smile. "That's so generous of you! But really Lae, Marael is right, we should move this out of the street." Marael was right to think of moving, at least, out of the open.

Ichnel was happy that they'd accepted his proposal and gift. The last time he'd tried to give someone food, the child's parents took it from him and stepped on it in the street, muttering something about all food from dark elves being poisoned...He shook his head. No time for those memories...

Ichnel's normaly white irises changed to a golden/rosy color expressing his joy at being able to help someone. Lae and Emmia were the only elves he'd met so far, besides the village elder, who treated him like he was one of them. If he was lucky, the other elves would make eye contact, but not hold it for very long. Ichnel shook his head and glanced down at the group.

"Quite the number of guests Lae! And where are my manners," Ichnel said, now addressing the new arrivals,"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ichnel of Bredia, gardener supreme, and a teacher of the warrior arts."

Ichnel gave a semi-flourish in his bow, which brought him close to the eye level of most of the group. He stood back up and indicated them to follow him to his house, which upon arriving seemed to be mostly a green house than a regular house. The entire bottom floor and the ajoining yard were completely devoted to plants while the upper floors were where Ichnel himself resided. To say he loved to grow things was understatement.

As they came to the gate that would lead into the yard, Ichnel paused.

"Forgive me, but I've not seen clothes like yours before," he said," Where are you from again?"

(( Thanks! I'll send you a list in a day or so.))

((hey, silver, you ever read R.A. Salvatore??))

As Emmia and Lae gave her shocked looks, Marael shrugged. The elves had deserved to be told off, in her opinion. She opened her mouth to say so, when the dark elf appeared in their midst. Marael instictively tensed. She had never seen a dark elf, although she knew all about them from her studies and bardic friends back home.

Her hand was halfway to a knife, when the elf, not noticing her actions, started talking to Lae and Emmia like old friends. She relaxed a bit, trying not to stare at him and mostly failing. The dark elf had the most fantastic ebony skin that reminded her somewhat of Gabe's fur.

Thinking of her panther made her suddenly realize he wasn't behind her like she thought. She turned around, her eyes sweeping the area for the cat, when she found him being saved from some youngsters by Luke. He hurried after the boy, and Marael gave a sigh. She whistled and he loped up to walk beside her as the group set off to dark elf's house.

They stopped outside a large greenhouse, brimming with plants of all different types. Through one of the many windows she recognized a few plants as native to her homeland, but she wasn't familiar with most of them. She looked at the elf in surprise and a bit of confusion. From what she had read, this was sort of place unusual for a dark elf. But then again, one could not take everything a bard said literally.

Before she could stop herself, she asked, "This is your house?" When Ichnel looked over at her, she immediately regretted her outburst, feeling her face flush slightly.

Ichnel chuckled. Her question was less uncommon than most would think. He knew that many imagined that, he being a dark elf, kept a torture chamber, a weaponry, a laboratory full of every poison imaginable, and several undead lackies to feast upon a poor unsuspecting elf. And that was just the tip of the rumors. They were right about the weaponry though...

"Yes, this is where I reside," Ichnel said to the red-headed elf.

She looked to be one of the Wisatia elves. He'd noticed that she almost drew her sword on sight of him. He was so used to it now, it no longer bothered him. But back to the present...

"I know it doesn't look like anyone would be able to live here, but I find a way. Even at my age I still need to practice my Earth Magick. Here" Ichnel handed baskets to those closest to him,"You'll need these to carry back the food. And watch out for the Starberries, they're not quite ripe yet, although I think the Redbells might be in bloom..."

Ichnel became lost in thought as he went into the garden, locating various fruits and vegetables that might be edible. His question about the group's origins forgotten.

((While I'm working on the list here's what the plants mentioned taste like {I will have the list by tomorrow!} The Starberries taste like strawberries and peaches. The Redbells make a nectar that can be used as a sweetener to most foods and, if boiled properly, the petals make themselves make great snacks. They taste similar to vanilla. GAH!! Someone stop Ichnel from spoiling the guests rotten! XD Otherwise, he'll probably donate all of his food leaving very little for himself. Ichnel is waaaaay too generous sometimes... -_-; And to answer your question about R.A. Salvatore: Maaaaaybe...just a little wink ))

Luke steps up behind the massive dark elf.
"Um, Ichnel, was it? Could you tell me about these flowers?"
He handles the silky red flowers that hang from his neck gently. Though they appear to have been out of water for some time, they're still silky and solt, moist even.

Elledora walked through Bredia, using her staff as a walking stick. The faes and faries' dust did not bother her, and she was not one to complain about it, eighter. A rather peculiar group caught her eye. She recongnized her friends Lae and Emmia, they were leading the group. She knew that the third elf was a visitor, but the others...Rounded ears? thats...unusual... She slowly followed the group, as she realized they were going to the same destination she was heading, Ichnel's home...

Lae wasn't surprised when they came upon entering Ichnel's wonderful green like house. She had passed by the house many times for the chance Ichnel would be outside. He has before offered her some of his most flavorful amazing fruits. However, never had she been inside his green house; that was a rare thing indeed. It pretty much looked like on the outside as it would on the inside; growing and full of wonderous life.
When Lae heard the mysterious red-headed elf's comment her lips turned into an ever so slight smirk. She knew exactly what that elf was thinking because Lae herself had said the exact same thing when she first saw Ichnel in front of his house. It said shock and curiousity all over the tone the red-headed elf had used. It was bound to happen, she thought. She knew she couldn't hold a grudge for such a simple, normal thing.

Turning her attention to the simple woven basket that was being placed in her hands, she noticed that is was full of Moonsquash. Her eyes quickly turned to a dark green with the love of the fruit. My favorite.....and they seemed to be just ripe enough to.... Shaking the thought out of her head her eyes turned back to their normal light calm green. She needed to focus on the group. They would need the precious fruit to eat and there was no way she would suddanly start eating what was needed for the whole group. Let alone I could eat like seven of these right now......NO! Dear lord, she needed something else to put her mind on.

Looking up she easily found Ichnel's tall frame behind a very large plant. Still holding her large load of Moonsquash she gracefuly managed to shift around the plants to speak to him. Though it seemed one of the strange flat eared males had beaten her to it. He was asking about the beautiful lei that the kind Sailacel had given to him earlier. She was also curious about the orgins of the bright red flowers. She only saw it once in a while, because she knew it to be rare due to the fact it didn't grow natually here in Bredia Territory.

"I also inquire about the beautiful flowers. I have only seen them a few times before and surley never in this quanity."

She stated breezily, hopeing she was correct to know that this flower was rare.

((No worries! I'm sure you will get the hang of it!
Also to Silver....dont worry to much on the list! Take your time, but I'm sure either way it will be amazing!^^))

Marael looked over at Luke, her eyes drawn away from Ichnel's surprising house at his question. She made a surprised noise as she saw the flowers around his neck.

"Where did you get those?" She asked curiously, reaching out to feel one of the silky petals. "They're not native here, are they? I don't know the name, but I saw a small patch of them growing around the shallow pools in Wisitia." She gave a smile, her mind momentarily wandering back to her childhood. She shook her head slightly to bring herself back to the present. "They could have just been planted there, though...that's the only place I've ever seen them, and I've been travelling around a lot the last few years. They give off the most beautiful smell in the springtime."

Ichnel laughed, his baritone voice echoing pleasantly around the house.

"These flowers, dear ones," he said, indicating the lei," Are called Fire's Heart. They're a symbol of good will, compassion, and new beginnings. This flower is also one of the key components for healing potions, used for it's magickal properties. Which is why even if you pick them, the petals still stay fresh. And oddly enough, their scent changes throughout the year. In the spring and fall they smell like embers. During the summer, they smell like a bon fire. And as to where they grow...they grow in the Graensia territory near hot places."

Ichnel knew he was rambling, but he couldn't help it. It was rare that anyone asked for his plants, let alone ask him about them. Ichnel had two passions in his life. One was growing and discovering new plants and the other was to teach others.

"Actually, speaking of healing potions, I have a few that I brewed that you may have if you wish," Ichnel said, addressing Lae.

To the rest of the crowd, he said," I'm afraid I don't have much meat at this time, but if you'd like a substitute, I can go pick some for you."

Ichnel didn't know how the guests would react to that comment. He knew that many elves disliked to eat meat, but maybe the arrivals were like him, growing up with eating both meat and plants. He just hoped he didn't offend Lae, Emmia, or the red headed elf.

(( *dies* I'm almost done with the list. I've been really busy drawing my Dad's B-day gift (his B-day is Saturday). To those interested, the Fire's Heart flower will be described more in detail when I send Destiny the list. I think I'll be done with it in a day or so. If anyone has suggestions for interesting plants or food, send me a PM! Don't be shy!))
