i'd like to comment that though taekwondo was based on Japanese karate as well as Chinese Judo it is not a form of karate (srry for being technical, but at my school i'm the nerd so it's my job) ninja

I like Tae Kwon Do, but I don't appereciate it being called a form of Karate. The two may focus on the the same thing, but their approach is like night and day. Please consider this...
Umm, I think you just might have arts messed up there. Judo is completely native to Japan, as it comes from jujutsu, which is completely Japanese in origin. Tae Kwon Do may have been influenced by Japanese Karate, but it is not in any fashion derived from it. Chinese Gong fu very easily may have had a style that became Tae Kwon Do, but the two entities are very much different now. China in no way actually created judo. I am a big purist on martial arts, so you must excuse me.
