Bonjour! I'm Aziekliel. I've been a steampunk junkie since the tender age of ten. My first expierience with steampunk was Final Fantasy IX, though I had no clue what SP actually was until about a month ago. Now I feel a strong sense of belonging. :3
Other than that, I'll have you know that I am eighteen and love to read. A lot. I also write quite a bit.
Anyway, salut!

Hello! The name's Miza, I'm 19 years old, and from New Orleans, Louisiana. Miza's not my real name, of course, but I'm known as Miza to many (and if you'd like to learn my real name, you need to get to know me well). I've always been into neo-Victorian style, antiques from that era, art deco, and of course airships and gears (I do love gears with all their coggie goodness). I like to collect gears and old clock parts to create art with, so if any of you know where I might find some cheap stuff, please let me know. sweatdrop
Anywho, I never knew there was a term for people like myself until I searched for things on wikipedia and I learned the term "Steampunk".
I can't think of anything else to say at the moment, so... wink

Hi, I'm T.J. I recently got into steam punk and fell in love with it. I love all kinds of fashions and their backgrounds. I'm 19 and in college as an art graphics/animation major. Aside from fashion I love art, music, videogames, tea, and cute things ._. That's about it. :3 Thank you.

Ohh, an intro thread, splendid! twisted
I've already posted what got me into Steampunk and why I like it in another thread, so I won't bore you with repeating it.... But, as for the personal information: I'm 20 years old, female, from the state of New Jersey. I don't really care what you call me - Fate is rather lofty sounding (but you can still use it.... xd ), but you can call me anything you want (Lenore - which is my pseudonym in here actually, "you," whatever really).
I love little clockwork things, and figuratively drool over them. I want an army of clockwork "droids," a la Dr. Who. smile My desk usually has at least one watch or clock taken apart on it because of this. However, I tend to not be able to find them (or, rather, the whole watches, I'm good at finding gears), and that goes to all things. I can be looking right at something, and still not find it - yay for being scatterbrained! xp
I love reading, and listening to music, and I truly mean it when I say I'd listen or read anything. My favorite authors are Verne, Dickens, Pratchette, Poe and Lovecraft, with random books thrown in. Music is a bit harder to pin down, but among my most often listened to groups/composers is J.S. Bach, Flogging Molly, Voltaire, the Decemberists, and very recently Abney Park - this, however, is not a complete list by far. I think the only type I usually dislike is rap, and most country.... confused Umm... other interests, let's see... I like anime and manga also, as well as playing video games (of the computer variety mostly, even though I have a DS to play on roadtrips) - I tend to like whatever manages to hold my interests in those categories, either with shiny graphics/pictures or storylines.
I tend to overuse smileys often, but am trying to cut back on them (I can stop any time I want, I swear! xd ). Generally though, everything I say is meant nicely, or good-naturedly, so if anything comes across as being snippy, mean, or rude, it probably isn't.... Anyway, I tend to ramble, and say things in twice as many words as it may necessarily need, for which I apologize for. The stories I write aren't this rambly, so I'm not sure why it comes out that way on forums and all like this... ah well.
I look forward to getting to know you all! biggrin

Hi all! Call me Nemo. I'm 21, live in Eastern Canada, and people are always baffled at how eclectic I am. I like Bollywood and knitting, I bellydance and used to do ballet, I'm a total movie geek (as well as a general all-around nerd), and I know way too much pop culture trivia. I loved steampunk before I even knew what it was - I watched movies like La Cite des Enfants Perdus and oohed and aahed at the clockwork contraptions. I didn't know what it was called until about... oh... five months ago, and then I just threw myself into it. I can't sew worth a damn, so I can't make clothes, but I have little steampunky knits that I'm working on. I'm really big on clockpunk, I love gears, and I am a sucker for guys in top hats and ascots. VladislausDantes is my hero. (After Joss Whedon of course.) I haven't actually fleshed out my steampunk character yet, but I'm working on it!

Hi there, you can call me Kuri-chan. I'm a longtime geek/otaku, and have been interested in Victorian fashion/culture for a long time, but only just realized what steampunk was yesterday (thanks to the lovely steampunk fashion thread!). I have way too many interests to list here, because I'm sort of an all-around geek. I think my first experience with steampunk (though I didn't know it at the time) was the movie Atlantis: the Lost Empire. <3 Man I wanna watch that again soooo bad...

Allo.
I'm 26, female, and from Milwaukee, WI. I've loved retro sci fi since I was a little kid and found my uncle's old sci-fi books from the 1950s. (Tom Corbett, Space Cadet! heart ) I've been a fan of the Victorian/Edwardian era since I was 11 or so, and got into alternate history at age 15 when I read Harry Turtledove's Great War series (not steampunk, but you all should read it anyway.) People joke that my personal timeline is stuck in the 1930s, which is not entirely accurate... I got as far as 1945. razz
While I love seeing the Industrial Revolution played with in speculative fiction, my favorite periods for actual historical study are the U.S. Indian Wars, WWI, and the Russian Revolution.
My main interest in steampunk is costuming & propmaking... not working on anything steampunk currently though, because it's almost renfaire season. razz

I've been a Steampunk fan for MANY years. As a matter of fact, I'm probably the oldest Gaian around...maybe not. I'm 34 and I'm from Birmingham, Alabama. I've been into all things Steam related since...just about as far back as I can remember. My Steampunk fanaticism kinda faded away awhile back, but thanks to Omegacon, Birmingham's first real SciFi/Fantasy convetion, that fanaticism was awakened anew. Revived from it's state of slumber, it has seeked to find others of like mind and love for the genre. Thus, today I have been welcomed into the fellowship of this Haven, combining my loves for Gaia and Steampunk. Thanks for allowing me entrance into such a wonderful group of people. Those that care to know more about me need only ask and I will supply the answers you seek. May this Guild last Forever. Millican Darque

Well, let's see.
22 years old, and a fan of Sci-Fi for just about all of them. Always loved the anachronistic mixes, but there's something really classy about Steampunk in particular. My avatars may have steamy aspects, but I generally don't dress the part IRL -- too poor/lazy/sloppy. wink Doesn't mean I can't appreciate it, though.
Beyond that, what else would you like to know? I'm a uni student who works odd hours (hence odd post times like this one.) I speak a few languages. I like classical music as well as punk, ska and metal. Also films, philosophy (especially Buddhism), games, card tricks, gardening/landscaping, pubs, blah blah blah..
That's plenty. If you still want more, just ask I guess. smile

Hello, I'm Fogwolf and I've just joined the guild.
I'm 22 and I honestly don't know that much about steampunk (I don't think I've actually read anything that would be classed as genuine steampunk, although there I have to admit I'm not sure how strict such classifications are). I do, however, love what I've come across - steampunk has, to me, one of the most distinctive feelings of any genre.
My main interest in it is through steampunkish fantasy (i.e. non-earth worlds with advanced steam/clockwork technology rather than alternate earths in which steam/clockwork technology was advanced further than it was here).
So, I'm hoping to become more familiar with the subculture here.

Greetings all, I'm ShadowMarquis, and I'm often accused of being a walking anachronism. I've always loved this aesthetic, though I have only now discovered its name, and I look forward to discovering the people and ideas in this guild. Oh, and I'm secretly a seventeen-year-old female (!) from New Orleans named Avery who likes dressing up male avatars.

Hello!
I'm another new member of this guild. I'm Cassie, I'm 25, and I live in Virginia. I can't remember how I found steampunk, exactly, but I've always been fascinated with machines. The moment I stumbled upon steampunk - probably looking for sewing patterns - I fell in love. heart Since then it's been a whirlwind of reading, sewing, and general other mischief. I always love finding new groups of steampunks around!
I'm happy to be here, and look forward to getting to know you all!
