"What'd you want?" she muttered.
"... Aren't you worried? About your sister, I mean?" Ren asked.
"I.... That is NONE of your business!" Shalai snapped, "You're so lucky, just traveling around all day. Must be a lotta fun. I bet you don't have a worry in the world!"
"What are you--" Ren started to say, but Kaito stopped him.
"...What are you so angry about?" Ren murmured. "You're just..."
"Just what?" Shalai asked, finally making eye contact with the boys.

"Let... Let go of me!" Shalai ordered, snatching her wrist away. However, in the process, the object she had been clasping in her hand, a small silver pendant, flew from her grip, and soared, splashing in the river with a dull ploop.

Tossing his bag to the shore, Brayden hit the water with a splash, shivering slightly as he was suddenly drenched in the cold water of the river. Having grown up in Fuchsia, he knew the ways of the water, but eveen he was almost swept away by the strong currents. Grabbing onto a rock at the bottom of the river, he looked around, trying to get his bearings.
'This is pretty deep...' he thought, a few bubbles escaping his nose as he looked around.
Now where'd it go? It was too dark to see anything underwater. The current was pretty strong, could it already been swept away?
'No...' Brayden insisted mentally. 'I have to find it!'

Back on shore, Kaito, Ren, and Shalai waited, worried, as they hadn't seen Brayden come up for air once. However, after a moment, Brayden's head shot through the water, as he let out a gasp, coughing.
"Brayden! There he is!" Shalai called, as Brayden paddled to shore. However, he looked a tad different. For one, the blue hair that he once had had nearly gone, leaving only the tips of his bangs the same aquamarine hue. And his Vaporeon-esque ears were gone as well, much to his relief. However, only one thing was on his mind at the moment, as he made his way over to Shalai.
"Here," he said simply, as he offered Shalai her pendant back.
"It's important to you, right?" he asked seriously, "You can't just give up... on something valuable to you," he smiled faintly.

"What is it? A flower?" Ren inquired, taking a peek.
"A pressed flower," Shalai confirmed. "A long time ago, when I was really little, we used to play in the forest a lot. That was back when my sister was still healthy. Of course, we kept it a secret from the castle. And my sister... she always indulged me and my childish whims."
