I can live without it if I needed too- it's not to hard considering I also have Guild Wars, Age of Empires III, the Sims, normal roleplaying, art and a bunch of other things that I can contend with.
Hence it's not a real issue with me, I just do it for enjoyment and play it casually and not obsessively- which I can only say this.
The game can not make you obsessed about it, it is you that becomes obsessed with it because you made yourself that way. It's the same thing with Runescape or any other MMO out in existance, you become obsessed because 'You' let yourself, not the 'Game' made you obsessed.

Two years ago, I would've said no. But for the past year, I've only managed to play a month before going on a two-three month hiatus.

Well, I used to feel that I couldn't live without MapleStory while I training hard to become a DK and had all my friends in my guild and on the game to play with, but then I discovered other games and many of my friends hardly every play.
So, now I know there is life without Maple, but should I make more friends that play often enough or when there are fun new events I'll be back to playing a lot. biggrin

I can, but then I'd have to spend a long time looking for a new game to play sweatdrop It IS pretty addicting when you first start to play though. XD

Haha, I've quit maple story before. I only get to play about 1 - 2 hours a day cause of work, and that's usually cause me and my gf find it a way to hang out with each other since we have to be apart during the weekdays.
The only thing I was ever SUPER addicted to was Guild Wars and WoW.

I've quit maple story a few times over the past few years, and my main char is only lvl8x. I've recently come back to maple about a week ago after an 8 month break from the game. As life can be hectic at times ya know.
