She ignored her stinging arms and tried again. With shaking arms, Takara went down and back up again. Finally! she thought, only one more left... She was excited yet a bit downhearted. She was not sure if she would be able to complete the pushups any time soon, with her strength and luck.

But she would try. Taking in a deep breath, Takara readied herself and tried agian.

"Yatta!" she shouted quietly.

She was finally finished. Now she could move on to something else, something much better: a jutsu. And not any jutsu, but the jutsu her sensei had used on her and the other two.

That was when she realized there was no way she would be able to learn the jutsu with her skills. Disappointed, she sat down, her legs crossed, and wondered what she could do to be able to learn shinju zanshu no jutsu. What was needed for the jutsu...? Intelligence and chakra control. Sighing, Takara decided to try and do the cat's cradle to raise her intelligence, if only by a bit.

She moved the string between her fingers to make a "shape". As she kept on trying, the strings became entanged more and more. Frustrated, she yanked--or at least tried to, as it took her a couple of tries--the string off her hand. Takara let out a long sigh as she stared at the knot that was once a piece of string tied together at the end.

Finally untangling the string, Takara tried again. She wrapped a loop of string around her hands and took one side of the string and circled her hands again. Somehow, as she continued, she came up with a shape. She was not sure what it was, but she was certain that she had seen it before when she saw others play the game.

Takara undid the strings and tried again. This time, no matter what she did, she can to a dead end. Takara growled in frustration. She never knew the game was so hard. Then again, she had never played it. She would glance out of the corner of her eyes curiously when others played it, but that was about it.

She fixed the string and tried again. She took her time to examine and try to remember how it had turned out the last time she had done it a certain way. Thanks to that, Takara was able to make another "shape". This one was different from the first.

She undid the figure and restarted. This time she tried to do it quickly. It was foolish of her, as she messed up, accidentally letting go of part of the string. The figure fell apart and the string tangled. Letting out an annoyed sigh, Takara went to work untangling it.

Takara fiddled with the string a bit more. She attempted to make it into a swan figure, but all she ended up with was a knot. She sighed. Was there nothing else she could do by herself to raise her intelligence? Slowly, as not to worsen it, Takara unknotted the string.

Mizu sleepily awoke from her cozy spot on the grass. She slowly sat up with her back feeling wet from the dew on the ground. Mizu looked around as she tried to unearth her surroundings. The first thing she noticed was her friend playing with string “What are you doing Takara?” she asked sleepily rubbing her eyes.

Mizu got up with a yawn “Did I miss anything?” she said letting out another yawn. “I need to wake up, Mind if I warm up before burn out?” Mizu said trying to shake away her tiredness.

Mizu dropped to the ground In attempts to start her warm up. “Wow I also have yet to do push-ups since the academy either.” Mizu said. “Even then I didn’t finish them.” Mizu thought to herself as she laughed inwardly; not knowing why she found that funny.

Mizu got in her push-up stance and held it for awhile, her arms began to get wobbly and a yawn followed behind that. When Mizu blinked she was on the ground wide eyed “What happen?!” She thought to herself “I must be more tired then I thought.

Mizu lifted herself up from the ground and once again shook her head in attempts to wake completely up. Mizu once again got into proper stance and tried to slowly go down, but instead she completely collided with the cold dewy ground again. This time Mizu inwardly cursed herself not knowing why she was falling so much. “At this rate I’ll never finish!” She angrily thought.“If I can’t pull off this next one I’m going to take a break.” She said to herself.

As Mizu fell to the ground for the third time she had to hold back everything she had not to explode. Now she would do what she told herself she would if she were to fail this time around. Punching the ground she inwardly cursed.

She rolled off her stomach and onto her back into the sitting position. She began to calm down as she plucked individual blades of grass from the lush green filed “What’s going on with me, I take a nap then everything goes downhill.” She stopped plucking the grass and crossed her hands behind her head as she looked up at the mist and sighed. “This sucks.” She simply stated.

Takara glanced up from her string and watched Mizu for a bit. She raised her hands, entangled in string, at the girl's question.

"Cat's cradle," she said.

She returned her attention to the string and furrowed her brow. What if she moved that part of the string over there? No, it would mess it up. She messed around with it for a bit more until she finally came out with something, though she was not sure what it was.
