This week, Star could be found baking. She was very busy with cake orders. Daisy could handle the pastry part of the bakery, but Star enjoyed the cake part. She had to make two batches of cupcakes and three cakes. One set of the cupcakes were for a friend's graduation from high school. The next set was for another friend whose son was going to middle school next year. One cake was a microphone cake for a dj. and the next cake was another graduation one. And the last cake was for a display for the bakery. Star had bought a display case where people could see her work on a regular basis.

Daisy came into the Bakery having been to the store buying more pantry items to make some more pastries when she saw Star putting the new display case together. It would sit in the front window. "Star, I think the new display case will be a great addition to what you already have made here. Is it just gonna hold your cakes, or what?" She asked curious as to what the owner's plans are.

"Daisy, it is nice to see you. I see that you have done a great job with the pastries, so I thought I would put our display case together. And, I have decided that right now I will put just cakes in it, but as we expand, we will start doing a daily special which we will display here in the case. Does that sound like a good idea to you?" she asked as she finished the last of the display case.

"You know, Star, that sounds great. I do have to restock the bar with pastries and cookies today, what are you plans?" She said, hoping that Star would be in the kitchen with her, but she didn't mind if she wasn't helping, just to have someone there with her would be nice.

"Glad you like the idea, and I have two batches of cupcakes and three cakes to make this week, so I thought I would do the display cake today, and then the other two cakes and cupcakes tomorrow. I think I can get it all done, but the display cake will take a long time, so I need to get started." she said getting up from where she was and going to the cabinet to get out the 4 piece oval pan set. She was making a 4 tiered oval wedding cake. It would be beautiful when she was finished with it.

Stunned at what Star was going to be doing this week, Daisy went and put away all of the items she had brought with her and came back out of the pantry to find Star busy at work. Daisy started working on the chocolate chip cookies. She needed to make 15 batches for the bar and 10 batches for the Bakery. "I am glad to see you will be here today." She said getting out the 5 cookie sheets and going to work making the batter for the cookies.

Star was working on getting the pans preped for the batter she would be making, so she put a thin layer of shortening on each pan and then dusted them with flour. This would keep the cakes from sticking to the pans. She then got all of the cake mixes that was needed for this cake. "I am glad to be working with you Daisy. I always knew that you had potential as a baker." she said going to the stand mixer and mixing the first batter which she put into the smallest cake pan and into the oven with it. She set the timer and cleaned the mixing bowl and beater so that she could do the next size one. She needed to make 2 layers of each size, so she would make one of each size and then when the cakes had been put on cooling racks, she would start on the second layer of each size.

Stirring in the last ingredient to her batter, Daisy started spooning the cookies onto the baking sheets, and then preheated the second oven. She had a feeling that this might take a long time since they were limited on the number of ovens they had and both of them had huge projects to do this week. She hadn't told Star, but Daisy was making a special cake for her one day when she wasn't in the bakery, she wanted it to be a surprise, and she thought she would need to get Angel involved in this one. As she finished spooning the cookies onto the baking sheet, she put two of the five in the oven and watched the clock. Eleven minutes later she took the first two sets out and put in the next two in. "Wow, these take no time at all!" she said surprised at how quick the cookies were cooking.

The timer went off so she took the first cake out then putthe second in, washed the bowl and beater and preped the third one then waited for the oven to be free again.

Daisy took the second batch of cookies out of the oven and put the last pan in it. As the cookies were cooling, she washed up her area and the bowl and beater she had used as well as all of the utinsels that she had used. "Star, I see that you are really busy, so you can use my mixer if you need to to finish the cake and I can make the pastries later when you are done with the oven. I know it wouldn't take as long if you had use of all of our equipment and I can be doing a few other things as well. I can finish the rest of the cookies anytime." She boxed up the cookies and headed to the bar to deliver them.

Before going back to the main hall he decided to stop off at the bakery today. Opening the door he walked in hoping to see someone at least* Hello?

"Thank you Daisy." she said as Daisy was headed out of the door. Star took advantage of the second mixer. She had both of the other batters done and in the pans waiting for the ovens in no time. She took the last of the cookies out of the oven since it would appear that Daisy forgot them and put the third cake in. About that time the second cake was finished cooking, so she put the fourth one in the oven. She had decided that instead of doing a two layer each tier, she would do just one since it was just for display purposes.
