1. I was at band camp, and the flutes were in seconals, and I had no idea where our section leader was, so we were going wild. Just then, the drum major came in (he does rounds during Sectionals) and I had just said, in a really sarcastic voice, "I LOVE marching band" and laughing hystarically. So the band major said, "Ok... I'm walking away... slowly... out the door..." and then he left. It was embarrassing... in my book
2. We were at band camp last week, and it was the second day. The DM called "Band ten hut" or "band attencion" or whatever he says, and our lines were screwed up. When he calls that, we are supposed to freeze. But I moved up with my line. I was the only person moving. It was kind of embarrassing cause the DM said as we were getting back into lines "Make sure you don't move on that call!" I knew it was directed at me!
3. Yesterday at marching band, we were on the street, and we were trying out flares. One of ours was "Disco Shimmy three four" We put our flutes at our sides and did the little disco pointy thing, then we have to shimmy. You know... shake your sholders and lean forward... kinda inaproperate..... and the DM had just turned around to see what the flare was. He turned just in time to see us shimmy. heh. and then his eyes got really wide and he turned back around.
Ya. That's my embarrassing moments so far!

imapenguin crazygeniusgrl meilee we have these black manhasset stands and they have been known for coming apart because they are a bit old. i was pulling on the top of it to make it taller and it came off and hit my face. i have done that SO many times before! those stands need to die! heart That happened to my B.D. while getting a few of our students ready to perform in Virginia Beach, for a ground-breaking ceremony (we were there to see the Canadian Brass, and because it was our adjudication trip). Anyway, it hit him in such a way that he sliced his nose and had to go to the hospital for it. As for embarrassing moments, I tripped on my skirt walking up to the stage one time (floor length skirts). Luckily, I caught myself before falling.

I was in junior high still, in Symphonic band, and we went to the high school that I'm at now, and we were going to play two songs with them, and two other junior highs, and we got ready, we are about to get onto the field, and one of the marching band guys tells me to go onto the field, so I went, and it wasn't time yet, and I was the only one on the field...It was so embarrassing...

Not really embarassing, but random & funny.
It was hot as hell on Memorial day this year, so a lot of people were given water bottles when we had a little break between the parade & this ceremony-thing. My friend Jonny had stuck his in the bell of his alto while we had to march back to the bus. We were bored & acting stupid on the bus, so he goes "Hey, I think this could fit in your tenor." and drops the water bottle in it. It got stuck xp . We looked like idiots trying to get it out - we tried pulling it out, twisting it, smacking the sax upside-down against the seat, smacking it upside-down against the window.... and Jonny's mom was taking pictures the whole time from outside.

I guess my most embarassing moment in band was when I fell flat on my butt while we were marching backwards really fast. But the most funny part was, when I fell I just layed there for a second while everyone continued marching. It was horrible but I wasn't the only one who fell. xD
Oh yes, I messed up my clarinet pretty bad.
Funny moment (Kinda embarassing): First week of marching band, after we learn a new skill, the DIs get with their groups on the parking lot and practice that skill. Well, the clarinets were standing still at attention(I'm a clarinet) and the base clarinets/saxophones were marching right towards us. When they came to a halt, this base clarinet dude was right on my back, so close he whispered, "Nice Shampoo" in my ear. It was pretty funny and awkward.

my most embarassing band moments always happen when i either play to loud or do something wrong and the teacher singles me out. They never actualy say ur name they just look at ur and say "An alto saxophone played a wrong note or played something wrong"
funniest moment was when we were at marching band pratice when all of the altos were in the wrong spot for liek most of the movement it was hilarious

ok at comatection (sp?) we play a game. right so the game you won't to hit the judge on the field the drum guy. will we cant go out of are way to hit them so if they are in your way its a free shote . will we had a sit were the drums swop with the loww brasswell he did not get out of the way fast enoghe so 4 tubas got free shote at him and the guy fill on his butt. (you know that if they are in your way you hit them right )

It was my jazz bands christmas preformance at the mall. i was playing bass guitar and my strap never stayed on right. so, when we finished, we all stood up so the people could clap for us. but when i stood up, the strap came off and my bass hit the ground with a loud BANG! and everyone started laughing....it was funny though

This last year was my first year in band...EVER...(Doing pretty good for no experience in a band-like setting. ninja )
So...anyway...
We were just getting back from the pre-game show and I'd just bought a lyre for the pep music, and my flute friend and I were trying to figure out how to put it on my clarinet. xd BD comes up and surprises us and says "THAT's an interesting place for a lyre." He fixed it for me, but I was like "It's not my fault! This is my first year!" and he just walked away chuckling at me. xp

The Anarchist Clarinet Holy chalupa, I did the same thing, falling backwards doing this weird...sort of curvy diagonal backwards drill. I twisted my ankle and I went to the game, but I didn't march that week. xd
Yes-yes. It was our diamond drill. It was horrible. xx;

It was our 4th football game as weel as our home coming came and in our drill i had to lead the trumpet section into the last set of the 1st movement. We had to go in front of the Drumline and the guy behind me stepped on my shoe and i fell and the drumline trampled me in front of 5000 people. that was my freshman year.

Which reminds me, that game, I was leaving the stands for our show to stand by the pit, since I couldn't march, and I slipped and fell down the stairs in the bandstands. eek I got up shakily, went the rest of the way, and then hung on to the handle as best I could while the band passed. I almost passed out, and the band nurses grabbed me and rushed me into the band room. xd xd gonk
ANOTHER story...
At our second competition last year, I had a huge headache and I wasn't feeling too...um...attentive. I miscounted and about-faced a beat before the rest of the band was supposed to. gonk What's worse, there was a person missing next to me, so it would've been REALLY noticeable...and don't forget, we were on the front sideline. stare
