Her non-flop ear drooped a little but she nodded. "Okay." She would have to hurry. Zach was close upon them. Relm giggled almost shrilly at the thought that she was thinking about the "DJ" like some encroaching monster.
"Sooo... What'll it be? Both?" He looked hopeful, flipping open his book and tapping something. "I'd love to hear you try "Start of Something New", though it seems you've been together a while..." His grin was broad, looking huge on his thin face. "Unless you've something in mind?" "Not yet." Relm croaked nervously, though her eyes lit up. She knew that song. It would not be bad, and there was something new... she glanced up at Keme with a shy smile. If he was okay with that song, so was she.

"Well, we were hoping that we could do a duet later, don't want to overwhelm Relm right now with doing a couples song right now! But do you happen have "Life is Wonderful" by Jason Mraz?" he asked, rubbing Relms arm reassuringly.

Zach's gray eyes glimmered over his grin. "Later, eh? Planning on being here a while?" It seemed the thoughts behind his eyes were adding more and more songs to a list he already had started in his mind. Relm quirked a brow seeing that, wondering how many songs this man might want them to sing but was kept calm by Keme rubbing her arm. "Hmmm... Jason Mraz? Now I don't know that one off hand, but if he's put anything on the internet at all I bet we've got it. Just because that's how we find the music of the non-mainstream music to switch it over." He flashed another smile and light from an overhead light glinted off of a retainer wire on the inside of his bottom teeth. "You came to the right place in town for having anything more than mainstream though! I'll hook you up somehow! You'll see!"
He wrote quickly on his pad, more than just Keme's song and artist so Relm could tell he wrote down that duet he had mentioned too. "And what for your pretty companion? Surely with a pop-star dress like that she's not planning on just watching?" Zach winked and the pictomancer felt her cheeks warm. "C'est La Vie." She blurted quickly, the first thing she could think of. Of course it was her own song, but if Keme could sing his surely she could sing hers? "By B*Witched. After.... after the duet."
Her voice was choppy yet sure, even as she felt an odd sensation in the pit of her stomach. Butterflies. She realized with a small laugh. I wonder if this is how Celes felt before singing that opera? Wish I could have been there... Of course that had been to get the party to Thamasa so it was quite impossible.

He wasn't surprised his song wasn't well known, unless you had the actual album. He nodded, but he had the funny feeling this thin man was up to something. He only hoped Relm wasn't too scared.

The man nodded, busy with his pad and grinning unrelentedly. "Okay. I've gotta check our records on this song, bucko. We've over a thousand gig of songs and though I've gotta admit I know the vast majority of what's there I'm not quite omnipresent yet. I'll check the drive while the next bird sings. Speaking of..." With a jaunty flick of his pen to his head in a playful salute Zach strode from them back to the stage to announce the next singer -a female, who was going to sing Tiffany's "Lover not the Love", which Relm thought to be a very sad song. She grinned though, glad theirs were all upbeat. "He seems to want us to stay a while. How long were you thinking of doing this, Hummer?"
There was no hurry to her words, though it seemed a bit of the alcohol might be taking effect for her nervousness seemed to be a shade less and Relm was honestly curious. And perhaps even... almost looking forward to an evening of singing?

"I was thinking maybe an hour, hour and a half at most if you wanted. Seems like fun to sing and watch others sing!" he said, somewhat glad Zach was gone for the moment.

She nodded, snuggling back into his side. Relm really had not been paying attention to the time passed to know how long they had been there already, but so far it had not been bad. "Sounds good. And we can always just wait and see too." Because if Relm finished this drink and had another there was a distinct possibility Keme would have to drag her away if the effects had not worn off yet. Not that the pictomancer knew or even thought that, taking another sip from her drink with a smile.

He nodded and sat back, arm still around Relm as he got ready to watch the new singer. He grabbed his own glass and sipped it through the straw, his tail back to idly flicking under the table.

MoochiLove He nodded and sat back, arm still around Relm as he got ready to watch the new singer. He grabbed his own glass and sipped it through the straw, his tail back to idly flicking under the table. This really was not that bad. Grinning, Relm leaned into Keme and started her usual "game" that had kept her occupied as a child in Thamasa of watching other people and figuring out what was up in their lives. The sad things was... she was quite good at reading people's body language even from a distance that she soon knew more than she wanted to know anymore and the game grew old. It was then she noticed Zach moving quite animatedly as he came out of the room he had disappeared into, then having to redirect himself to the stage to announce the next singer. Singers, as a group of friends got up for Prince's "1999" which was pretty funny, as they were more than a little wasted. She watched them and laughed, knowing that Zach was now heading their way and hoping by the look on his face that he had good news for her beau. Her hand fell casually to rest on Keme's thigh as she focused on watching the act and Relm only mildly noticed the DJs pause as Zach wondered if maybe this was a bad time to interrupt. The pictomancer was feeling the effects of her drink enough to not catch how the placement of her hand might look or how her yellow glove made a bright contrast against her date's black & blue ensamble. Getting over that -it was not as if her hand was high on her date's thigh- Zach grinned & shared his news. "Good news, bucko! We've got it! Will you be ready to go on after the next singer? And would you rather space your songs or try them back to back?"

Keme himself mainly focussed on the people who were singing, even though he did chuckle to himself when he watched the wasted group sing "1999", but that was a fun song to sing. He felt himself blush hotly when Relm put her hand on his thigh, but he didn't move her hand away, but he certainly didn't do anything have her move anywhere else either.
He looked up when Zach approached and he smiled when he said they found his song. He nodded when asked if he could sing next, "Sure thing!" he said, for some odd reason, not even feeling a twinge of nervousness.

Pushing herself slightly up with her hand Relm brought her hands together with a happy squeal & beamed at Keme. Okay... so it was becoming clear that Relm let the more cute side of her nature free when lightly buzzing. "Hummer! That's great!!" Then she grinned up at the DJ. "I think I'd rather go straight from the duet to my song, if that's okay. Keme, you choose when we sing that, okay?" Light green eyes smiled up at her beau.
"Works for me!" The song was drawing to a close. "Tell me when you get up to the stage, okay bucko? Gotta anounce you now." There was a tone that asked not to leave him hanging as Zach had his long strides take him to the stage.
"All right folks! Most of you hasve been asking me when the cute furred couple were going to sing, and that time has come!" Quite a few of the tables cheered. "Now I had to search out the young bucko's song, but here it is: "Life is Wonderful" by Jason Mraz!" Grinning crazily he held the microphone out for Keme.
Kissing Keme's cheek with a grin, Relm let him go. Her eyes were shining with excitement, just waiting to hear her man sing.

Keme had to stop his tail from wagging out of control, especially when Relm seemed so pleased to see him go sing up on stage. When he was introduced, he got up and made his way to the stage, waving as people clapped and there were some wolf whistles from the bar, causing him to blush. He took the mic and nodded to Zach and fiddled with his headphones a bit to start the music over so he could sing along with it. Waiting for the music to start in the speakers before he finally brings the mic up close to his mouth and softly starts to sing out the words.
It takes a crane to build a crane it takes two floors to make a story it takes an egg to make a hen it takes a hen to make an egg there is no end to what i'm saying
it takes a thought to make a word and it takes some words to make an action and it takes some work to make it work it takes some good to make it hurt it takes some bad for satisfaction
ah la la la la la la la life is wonderful ah la la la la la la life goes full circle ah la la la la la la life is wonderful ah la la la la ah mmmm
it takes a night to make it dawn and it takes a day to you yawn brother and it takes some old to make you young it takes some cold to know the sun it takes the one to have the other
and it takes no time to fall in love Lyrics but it takes you years to know what love is and it takes some fears to make you trust it takes those tears to make it rust it takes the dust to have it polished, yea
ah la la la la la la life is wonderful ha la la la la la la life goes full circle ha la la la la la la life is wonderful ha la la la
it is so and it is so
it takes some silence to make sound and it takes a loss before you found it and it takes a road to go nowhere it takes a toll to make you care it takes a hole to make a mountain
ha la la la la la la life is wonderful ha la la la la la la life goes full circle ha la la la la la la life is wonderful ha la la la la la la life is meaningful ha la la la la la la life is wonderful ha la la la la la
it is so wonderful and it is so meaningful it isso wonderful it is meaningful it is wonderful it is meaningful it goes full circle wonderful meaningful full circle wonderful
As he sung, he temporarily forgot he was alone, hitting all the right notes, even holding out his voice at the words, "it is so" just like it does in the song, squeezing his eyes shut.

She clapped with the others as the drunken trio left the stage, but more as her beau made his way there & stepped up. Quickly Relm turned down her headphones until her song was a faint hum, so she could better hear him sing.
Relm was enthralled. She hardly noriced when after the notes started, Zach returned to their table to lead her by the elbow to a table directly beside the stage. Seemed that without an answer the DJ had decided to have them sing back to back. Or that he thought it would be cute to watch the pair almost together as they would be singing their seperate songs. She sat on the seat there, one leg curled beneath her, the other one curled out behind, leaning over the table, just watching & occasionally sipping from her drink that she had somehow carried with her. Oh, she had heard Keme sing his song once before... but not like this. Then it was softer, more casual somehow. This was so much more. And the words... she loved it.
Her tail wagged happily behind her beneath the poofs of her skirt as she finished her drink & pushed it away. She only vaguely noticed when Sammie came by and traded the empty drink cup for two fresh waters -one for her & one for Keme apparantly- as well as setting Keme's drink there as well. Perhaps she expected that he would like to sit close when Relm sang her song.
When he reached the end of the song, Relm was the first to start clapping.

Keme seemed to snap back to reality when he heard the applause and he blushed brightly, bowing a bit and putting the mic back on it's stand. He then made his way off the stage and was surprised to see Relm seated at a table closer to the stage, but he shrugged and went to sit down next to her, yelping when his butt was suddenly pinched from an overly flirtatious girl, her friends giggling over daring move. He blushed and rubbed the back of his head as he gave a nervous chuckle.

"That was wonderful, Hummer!" Relm was shifting in her position to meet Keme as he joined her and missed the action of the females. Until his yelp when their proximity and giggles clued her in to what had happened. Her eyes flashed but she did not growl, only reached for her brush...
... and pulled out a microphone. Light green eyes blinked at it a moment then up to glower at the females. "Espers!" It was the harshest swear she would use in front of Keme, drunk or not, though she knew enough words she could make a sailor blush if she wanted. She should know -having tested them once on AearHwesta. After he had insinuated she and Keme were together that first night they met. Of course, she had to apologise once they did get together... but that was not the point. "You are so lucky I can't paint your sorry, overly made-up, color-blind self right now or you'd see just how pathetic you really are." Her eyes flashed, saying the unspoken 'never lay a finger on my man again' before she added. "That color doesn't suit you."
Zach, hurrying back to the stage looked more than a little wide eyed at the exchange having taken her for a sweet little thing. Now he wondered about her bite.
