Merlin sighed, rubbing his temples. "Alloran, give me the frog, and help Ruby run these two through the introduction tests. I'll be in my room working on figuring out what the frog is. Call me if she starts to die, or go crazy."

Alloran nodded, tossing the frog to Merlin, who caught it. "Can do, but can I jus' light her on fire 'nstead of the whole callin' you thin'?"

Alloran's eyes went wide, and he stepped back. He raised his sword, swinging it down at Ruby's neck, roaring "Zombie!" as he swung. He of course was going to stop before he actually hit her, because he knew she was screwing with him, but she didn't know that.

Aly watched their antics with amusement. Although she was watching them, she was more curious about the frog Alloran had brought. The thing had an evil grin... could frogs grin? Better yet... a biting frog? Aly knew a lot about frogs, having hunted for poisonous frogs with her grandma-ma when they used to make their own concoction of home made poisons (for darts of course). She'd never in her life encountered a frog that looked like this one did.

"He'd understand, iffn' not, fire'd work." Alloran shrugged with a slight grin, re-sheathing his sword.

Merlin sighed as the frog started to turn to goo. "They always try. It's maker must not be too old." He mused. He motioned with one hand, a web appearing beneath the frog. It curled up into an orb around it, the bands taking different shapes and patterns as the frog began to reform itself. "Magic is not like pen and paper, where you burn the paper and the writing is lost forever." Within moments, the frog was whole again, and it's limbs were bound by the orb. "I'll be off with this, now."

(( *raspberries*))

"Sorry. I just heard you tell your name to the soldier--" Like I didn't know it already. "--and forgot after you healed me that we weren't properly introduced. The battlefield isn't good for reminding people of niceties." She shrugged.

Ruby smiled, trusting as ever....or mostly. "Well I ain't particularly unknown anyhow, not with the movie business, an other things in the past." Her smile slightly faltered at the mention of the other things, but perked up again quickly.

"I s'pose we should do those introductions again," She nodded her head towards Alloran. "That's Lori, he's green, grumpy, an more or less ugly, but he ain't too intolerable....mostly cause he lives in the boiler room. Merlin's the old guy, an' don't ask him about swords an' stones cause he's heard it too many times. Herby is the ugly guy with the tubes, an' he can be a bit mean, but if you remember Nirvana 'it's okay to eat fish cause they don't have any feeli...' wait...no, that ain't what I wanted to say. Just don't make any fish jokes, or mention the littler mermaid, an' you'll prob'ly be fine. Arch is the sexy angel with the shades, an' he's volunteered to be responsible for the army an' the like. I'm Ruby, but we've covered that already. The shorter redhead, is Aaron, my son....but you already knew that, cause you told Miran........."

Ruby paused, looking back at AC. " An' of course overhearin' my name is one thing, an' knowin' it another, an I'm guessin' my life, an' the like, ain't all that secret, considerin' I was a celebrity for a while, an it was common knowledge I had a son. The information about my lover wasn't common knowledge, but I suppose it ain't a big secret that Arch an' I had a relationship back when we were the more charmin' heros of the city. And you obviously knew somethin' about heroes because you knew who Miran was, an' knew what he was doin' on the battelgrounds, 'fore I did.

But at the same time, if he's been out there a lot, an you've been out there a lot, that'd make sense, right? But if that were the case he prob'ly wouldn't be judgin' you again, an' he didn't seem to recognize you any. Of course none of this would be even a bit questionable if you're psychic."

She smiled, "Did I mention I was psychic?"
Ruby was lying on the spot, and although she seemed to be gabbing over nothing, her mind was moving ten times faster beneath the words. There was also the advantage of a person who spoke too much, as appearing to be a person who retained too little. Ruby was always prone to use a ditzy appearance to her advantage, making it difficult to tell when she was really being flighty, and when she wasn't.
