Australia is infamous for getting everyone else's crap... so a bombardment of rejects wouldn't be too unlikely. I've seen quite a few Decepticharge units now. I almost missed out on getting a Jazz figure because I suspected it to be a reject/knock-off at first glance; the packaging didn't contain any protective plastic, just the bubble mold in the box. Weird. But I have now seen hundreds in this state, so I'm assuming that's the way the item was released for some reason. I bought one, and there seems to be no problems with it... As for Decepticharge, I like the look of the robot, but the name is just too stupid for words. It really depends on what the repaint ends up looking like (if we end up getting it at all).

Okay where is over here, cause I still see it on BBTS.

After more research he was supposed to be Wildrider or Dragstrip. Color wise you can see Dragstip in him.

So far, each of the Alternators/Binaltech have been wonderfully detailed and with impressive molding and articulation. Personally, though, I am ready for the next levels.

Sure it will be incredibly hard to design and keep the alternator's details intact, but I am ready for one of two things to begin. Triplechangers and Combiners. I mean, we already have a couple of the Stunticons (or something that looks damned close), so why not start getting the concept of Menasor out? He is a gestalt of cars, after all.

On the front of triplechangers, why not? I mean- how hard would it be for us to find old model tanks and jets to find something appropriate for Blitzwing? Perhaps the basic space shuttle and an old style train for Astrotrain? Octane might be a bit harder, but we have ample transformers and vehicles to work with- so why not?

Going how the line is, I don't seen them doing tripple changers. It take too much work to do a mold that could only be used once. They don't seem interested in giving the fans what they want, only in making things they know they'll buy no matter how dumb they are.

It's really just meant for adult fans, like buying a random model car for display, y'know? As for Decepticharge's name.....originally his name was gonna be Breakdown, but none of the car companies were really happy with a name like that so they just came up with a quick filler name......

. . . Hence my habit of 'renaming' my figures from time to time. If/when I get that one, it is going to be Breakdown. Period.

Too bad about the total lack of listening to fan desires. cry

Thou it sounds like a good idea I personal don't know if they can pull it off both for the moold and lisening.

Several car cumpanies have already turned the line down. (volkswagon, Porsche) because they don't want to make war toys. and having there cars also turn into tank and fighter planes would prolly throw them even more of or lose companyies they already got.

Plus they have liscened company, so if they want to keep with the realizm they'd have to ask the miliarty if they could use the proper tank/jet or whatever designs which thou may seem easy could possibaly pose a threat to not making it real if they where turned down.

And teh last thing I see is that too fit all 3 parts with out taking away form any of teh 3 forms (like you said yourself "Incredibly hard to design" and I honesly don't really see that happening.

Thou part of me wants to be wrong, I just don't think they could pull it off.

Combiners they might but triple changers I don't think so.

The problem with inventing complex transformations is that the resulting alternate form can wind up looking rather messy. While the Alternators line has remained relatively free of this, incorporating a secondary vehicular conversion would impede this greatly. Triplechangers just wouldn't be viable, and would ultimately downgrade the quality of the line.

Decepticharge. For a cancelled product, he sure is doing the rounds; I've literally lost count of all the units I've seen on the shelves over here. Don't know what's going on there, quite frankly. Can't say I'm overly impressed with the quality, however...

I just want me Wheeljack and Prowl, dammit.

Saw my first Prowl today, but it was a Binaltech import. He looked pretty nice (although his legs are a touch on the rigid side). Hope he's released as an Alternator soon.

If the BT import doesn't cost too much extra it's normally worth it.

I haven't seen any of the new alts since Grimlock and most places just don't carry them at the moment.

In Australia, Alternators retail for AU$49.95. The average Binaltech import sets you back AU$150! Yeah, there''s a bit of a discrepancy there, so I think I''ll be sticking with the plastic series... confused
