"yes! thank you very much, for your hospitality" Tamlin echoed after Baptiste. "Of course we shall stay in line wherever is most convenient."
"what an odd ceremony....how do they know who to choose?" Tamlin was puzzelled.
"savior magic? what is it that needs to be saved? and shouldn't that be entrusted to someone older then a mear babe, someone who wants to be a magic user. it seems rather harsh to subject one yet unborn to a pre-choosen life."

M i s s a Oqaia The gangly Fermer waved a hand- not dismissively. "Ah, you must have seen one of the preparation or praying festivals- not really an All Saviors Day. This is the real thing. The actual time that the new savior will be chosen. Well, no..." he laughed. "That's such a foolish thing to say. The savior's already there, just... waiting to be born. This, now, is choosing the woman to bear the savior." He grinned. "Of course.' Marissa couldn't hep but be excited. "Ooh, that sounds terrible exciting," she said. "How do they go about choosing the Peress?" she asked, then, remembering her manners, chimed, "Oh, my name is Marissa Vadim.""Tapp," he said, tipping an imaginary hat. "Nice to meet you! And oh, it is terribly, terribly exciting. They choose a Peress through the regular ceremony, I guess. There's a light bearing thing, then they connect sceptors." He shrugged. "I've not seen it before. All Savior's Day is different- no one really knows how they find the woman, because it's not happened in over a hundred years."

"The last Savior Choosing was well before I was born- I only know of the ceremony itself, not of its specifics."

By the time Lorelei awoke from a short nap, Vanna curled up in her small nest-like bed beside her, night was beginning to fall. Her newfound friend's words echoed in her mind. The Light-Bearing ceremony... that night. By City Park. She knew the place better than most of the city. When she had been very small, her father and mother had taken her there to watch the people stroll by.
She supposed it would be nice to go back, since it was a place that held some of the few good memories she had.
Lorelei looked at the chest in her wagon a moment, then shrugged and looked through. She had sewn a dress one day, after they'd come across a fabric trader, in a fit of semi-madness. It was nearly as elaborate as what she had once worn at home. Its whites and pale accents matched her new form perfectly... but still she covered herself with the cloak after arranging her curls in order.
If she was going to go back, she'd go all out.
The little crown - something she'd found laying around the wagon when she'd first found it - held her hood up a little, so that the bottom half of her nose and her lips showed. Smiling tightly at herself in the mirror, she went and woke up Vanna, dressing her in one of her best dresses. She looked at the girl a moment.
Her purple skin and third eye would stand out. She considered using the make-up, but refrained, afraid of what it might do. Instead, she wrapped Vanna up in a blanket, making a small cowl to hide her face and unusual features. Vanna snuggled close and fell back asleep, and Lorelei headed out to meet her sisters.

Heather returned to the wagon with another Banya bird that made Amkia incredibly happy but Secra seemed a little annoyed. Amkia saw to it but his own little way of talking to the birds. The bad tempered Banya calmed down a little.
"Amkia, we are going to have to go into town, Kala will need to come as well, so we will have to go and find her." Heather smiled and picked up Amkia not worrying about hiding him, after all she was proud to have such strange children.
Leaving the wagon she followed the signs of Kala's where abouts and eventually found her with the remains of a rabbit. She looked proud with herself but Heather felt Amkia shake with disgust in her arms.
"Come on Kala, we have some place to be. You can hunt more later." She spoke harshly to the leopard who just followed her back as a dog would follow its owner, however Kala was no dog and followed for the opportunity to create chaos and problems more then anything else.

After catching snippets of conversation around the caravan, Irina scooped Kal up into her arms and headed back to the wagon to change her clothes into something more festive. She still needed to decide which event to attend as well, taking bits of conversation with her to help her choose. The Choosing seemed particularly interesting, though the All Saints celebration might be something to see as well...
Still torn on what event to attend, she slipped on her nice dress and a pair of leather shoes instead of her usual sandals, and then glanced in the mirror at her appearance, making sure she didn't look too rag-tag. Her curls weren't unruly today, and she was pleased with that, patting them down a bit to make sure they wouldn't get frizzy. When she was done dressing herself, she took the brush to Kal's fur, making sure the little badger looked neat and tidy herself. She tied a few strips of brightly-colored fabric around the badger's neck, and held her up to the mirror so that the badger could see herself. Irina could have sworn that the badger smiled when she saw her reflection, and she knew she had done well. As soon as she grew up, she could dress her in real clothes, she thought, knowing that Kalpana would probably enjoy it.
"Ready to go Kal?" she asked, grabbing up her coin pouch and wrapping it around her waist as a belt. "I think it'll be that time soon enough."
Kalpana seemed to nod at her mother, and she let her scoop her up into her arms, not wanting to get her new neckwear dirty by roaming around in the dirt. She'd try to keep herself clean--at least for awhile.

Oqaia "Oof," she replied, a response more to the effort to stand even with help than to Silver's words. "Oh, yes and no. I knew that in an All Saviors Day festival, rare as they are, oh yes- there'd be a fair amount of the Southern Folk about. They peddle moonstones, y'know." She smiled. "They're my specialty stone for jewelryware." Her wide Gelm face did not seem to betray the fact that she knew she was an oddity: a Gelm who travelled beyond their moutain, and one that did not scorn all bits and baubles that were not of their own make. No self-respecting Gelm would travel to collect foreign stones, or make a life of the road as keenly as that of their craftmanship. Luckily enough... LofSless was not a 'self-respecting' Gelm. "Oh my. Moonstones? Might you have a sampling of your wares wth you?" Silver liked this woman. She was obviously not bothered by the restrictions of Gelm tradition, and in an odd way, she almost reminded Silver of her brother, Nuroah. "I would love to see them," She said as she shifted Khevashi in her arms and took Aisrhan's hand once again.

Gwynna took Nusa and the banya back to their wagon to get the little bird settled. They would have to find a proper cage for her, but for the time being, a little bit of straw in a box would have to do.
After checking to make sure that Nusa was still properly wrapped up, Gwynna ran her fingers through her hair for a moment and left the wagon. It was definitely time to get out and enjoy herself. And with all of the hubbub of two important ceremonies, it was sure to be an interesting time.

"I would love to see them," She said as she shifted Khevashi in her arms and took Aisrhan's hand once again. "Oh, sorry dearie, I've not any moonstones now. Haven't been able to yet find a supplier. But if I see you around the town, warrant I'll accost you with some wares. Lord Knows a girl's got to eat!" This statement amused her immensely, perhaps because she was already so broad and thickly compact at every angle, that she seemed to be neither a girl... nor someone starving. She laughed greatly, then wiped an invible tear away from her eye where mirth had upwelled it. "Oh Lord, Lord. ...Well, dearie, you and your little ones are so sweet, and it's so good to see a Mountain Sister out this far. We don't get out much, do we?" This amused her too, though her laugh break was not nearly as long. "Thank you for helping some old bones up. Here. I've been trying to peddle this for some moonstones, but I've had no luck with it at all. Bloodstones just don't go over well here." With that, she palmed over a smallish, simple Ring.

The Decision Quote: We are on the outskirts of the city, where the cobblestone begins and the parades and banners loom up at us. There are two festivals going on in the Port now, and we want to be a part of them. However, you may only choose one. And, because we're all GOOD mumsies and daddums, you're not going to let your child splinter off to the other group without you. Aren't you? Yesss, that's a good gypsy. You will be with this festival group for the duration of the plot/event- however, in a few instances, I may give you a direct opportunity to switch over to the other festival. However, unless this is explicitly obvious in the rp, anyone who tries to splinter off will get patented OqEvil. XD Yayness. The two groups are as follows:The ChoosingNear the city limits, the parade has begun. Most of the people holding banners are wearing all or near all white, though there are many more with the crowd who have collected into the parade and are headed with them into the heart of the city. There are little children carrying baskets of flowers and others with candied sweets and large silver-white basins filled with colored liquid... they are quite shallow, and the bearers seem intent not to spill the contents onto the cobblestones. People are walking slightly wide around these bearers, though they stick their hands and cups in other, more obviously drink bowls and sweet trays that pass them by. If you look carefully, you might see a flash of very distinct white that is unlike the robes... it seems to be... white feathers. And a dispersion of cheetah spots in another flash as the crowd passes you by. They are headed towards the center of the city, to choose their new Perress, and to feast and festival. In a cart filled with watersponges, there's even a Filor in the crowd. All Savior's DayThe collection of people who are headed into the city for All Savior's Day are mostly women, though there are nearly as many priests as there are priestesses, with beautiful white marks and tattoos on their faces. Where they walk, everything seems a little sweeter- and yet, they are the ones turning to the average folk- the women that are walking with them, and doting on them- taking their arms and leading them gently through the streets, and giving them treats so delicious that they nearly swoon for the taste. They are headed for the Great Gardens, to choose the person who is destined to bear Savior. In the crowd, you might see as you squint your eyes- a woman or two who looks... familiar, though you can't place the face when they're walking away from you- and the distinctive green skin that looks like it belongs on a frog.

Tamlin, pleased at her success in being allowed into teh caravan and gaining a seat in Baptiste's wagon she turned her gaze to the city for a comotion had started.
"hmm whats the rucus? maybe part of the festival" she spoke to herself, adn anyone who happened to be near.
seeing how her business with Valelldia had finished and she neednt worry about when teh train would leave she found herself being drawn into the crowd following the parade.
"white's a popular color this year, very impractical, shows any signs of dirt instantly" then she paused and noticed it seemed to be mostly those in teh parade itself wearing white. she moved in closer to get a better view but found it difficult due to all the people. she walked back to where Baptiste was since he was the only person she really knew anything about.
"I'm gonna go follow the parade and see if the crowd would enjoy some music after the parade is over, it would be no good to waste a perfectly large crowd."
so Tamlin dove back into teh throngs of people to watch teh parade.

Lorelei stuck with the Choosing group, following them as they spiraled in along the roads towards City Park. She hung back on the edges of the group, standing out only slightly with her dark cloak. Vanna stirred in her arms as they walked, yawned, then fell back asleep.
The crowd's bubbling murmur, rising to shouts every so often, kept her from thinking too much about the familiar roads she passed. Still, every so often, her mind drifted to the little fortunes for Vanna, and she held the girl close. Remembering the warning about friends, she was happy that they traveled alone for the time being.

Silver chuckled as the woman laughed. "Aye, that we don't, friend." Khevashi cooed and giggled and Aisrhan just stood silently, next to her mother. She didn't really like other people. She didn't trust them. Her gypsy family was all she'd ever known, and so she clung to her mother, the only bit of familiarity in this place, her eyes taking in the sights about her warily. She did however, crack a smile when the woman began to laugh. Silver's eyes widened when the woman handed her a ring. "Oh! It's lovely! Thank you so much." She smiled warmly. "I hope to see you again soon. Good luck finding your moonstones!"
After parting with the Gelm woman Silver walked around for a bit, trying to get her bearings, and keeping her children close. She finally stopped next to a tall building. "All of this excitement is making me thirsty. Would you like something Aisrhan? I know your brother's probably thirsty as well." Aisrhan nodded. "Yes momma. Oh! Can I see the ring that lady gave you?" "Yeah, hon. Just a minute." Silver untied a small canteen from her belt and gave Khevashi a sip before passing it to Ais. She then reached into her pouch to retrieve the bloodstone ring. Silver tried to put it on, but it didn't fit any of her fingers. "Darn! It's so pretty, too. Here, Ais. Why don't you try it on?" She traded canteen for ring and took a swig herself before replacing the lid and returning it to her belt with her free hand. Aisrhan tried the ring on her thumb, but it was too small, then she remembered how mom wore her rings. She put it on her ring finger. "Mom look! It fits!" Aisrhan grinned. "Oh! Well, I guess you better keep it then." Silver winked at her daughter and Aisrhan hugged her. "Really? Thank you!" Silver smiled. "Alright you guys. Let's get going. I'm sure this festival-thing or whatever it is will start pretty soon. We don't want to miss anything!"

Silver spotted several people dressed in white, with markings on their faces. Intrigued, she finally asked someone what the festivals were about. "You don't know?! Ignorant gypsies. Why are you even here then?" "Forgive me sir, I'm from the mountains to the nor-" Khevashi squawked at the man and his eyed widened. Silver couldn't tell if it was fear or surprise in the man's eyes, but she didn't want to find out. "Sorry to bother you." She began to walk away. "Wait, miss. I'm sorry. The festivals... they're called The Choosing and All Savior's Day. It's incredibly rare for them to happen on that same day..." The man explained everything to Silver and she nodded gratefully, wondering what had changed his attitude. She squeezed Khevashi and held Ais's hand a little tighter, remembering the time Aisrhan was taken from her in Mulden.
She decided to follow the group she was closest to. Apparently this was the Savior's Day procession.

Kala made the choice. The cheetah spots that flashed past so quickly stuck out to Kala, it was another cat. She was heading towards them at a quick speed but Heather was able to catch up and slow her down.
"Kala, patience you can't just jump onto things!" Heather sighed and spotted Lorelei and Vanna. She wasn't doing this alone so ran over to her, reaching out to touch her arm as they neared.
"Lor!" She smiled at the other gypsy infront of her, "You mind if we tag along for a little while?" She wouldn't stay with Lor but for the mean time she wanted to be with someone she knew and could trust.
